The EULA by Autodesk is quite far different from say, General Public License (GNU GPL) that requires user of the freeware/free software to make his sources available to public, as free software.  The EULA in this particular context basically protects Autodesk its entitlements and rights to its own software and disclaims itself from being liable if Autodesk ever "steals" or allegedly "copies" ideas invented by its users; but it does not require users to make its own sources available as freeware.

So long story short, an author of a 3d art work using Gmax could theoratically claim copyright ownership for his particular modelling work, but not the software.  But talk to your lawyers ofcourse if it's that serious of legal issue ;-)

I think there should be an assorted terminal pack on the stex with some glass terminals. Also a transit- enabled 2 floor departures and arrivals terminal would be awesome, to give airports a realistic look. When will there be new airport related files to download?

david: I meant the .mdl Flight Simulator files (made or not made by GMAX) are copyrighted, and are often stated that they cannot be modified or re-released into the public.  This is not true for personal use, however.

Jaronamo88: Sorry, but we are not the best BATters.  The roof is very similar to Vancouver's Canada Place, but I can't BAT that either.  Sorry.

BGans1982: I am going to BAT (and LOT) a few terminals (mostly for Manchester), and release them into the public sometime in the future.  The two-floor thing I'll take a look at them and find out how to do them.  As of now, no new airport files (except for Voltaire's plane skins) have been released onto the STEX, not even other airport teams' files.  We haven't been active lately (partly because of lacking of member participation, and also of the very busy STRU, which now has many members to handle the requests), but I'm sure we'll be able to release something by the end of February.

As a note, we are also thinking of expanding into Microsoft Flight Simulator (FS2004 only, that is what I have) add-ons, starting with a few airport scenery modifications.

I can make those in my spare time--some of those airlines will be included in my 777 packs, others could be made as plane skins.  Some of those airlines (like Midwest Airlines) may be made, specifically for my CJ but released to the public, while some of those I could always do in my spare time. Some of those (such as JAL) have already been made.  Also, some of those airlines may not be operating any more (like Air Nova) so--

Months ago, I remember reading somewhere about how Airports effects do not cross regions, and that someone was planning on making a fix for that by basically making a 1x1 statue, or park, that mimicked airports effects so you could put them in neighbouring regions... Has this been done? It wouold be outstanding!

Duvad: And about the UDI plane mod... I'm not sure about that... as far as I know I am not an expert modder and the first real UDI passenger jet was a failure.  So I'll think about that...

Mr. Chuckles: Well, thats really a great idea, however a statue that would give huge commercial boost to the city wouldn't really make any sense... I'd rather make some airport shuttle bus stops, which could be done in the future.

Would it be possibe to do new gates that can connect to the diagonal terminal pieces? I've been having a lot of trouble with that recently. Maybe have the boarding skywalk hang over the lot to the inner side of the diagonal piece?

WillG_75: I'm not sure how I could create a lot with an airport... you could use the RMIP and ACE packs for those easily--just use apron pieces for the diagonal runways

Best would be a set of planes where the overlay, i mean the letters and logos of a airlines were normal pictures (png, jpg, bmp, whatever), that you could create your own planes in a more easy way. if this isn't possible youst bat as much models as possible for you (A 320 and 737 series, A330, A340, A350, A 380, B737, more 747 skins, 757, more 767 skins, 777, mayby 787. Also interesting were more hangars and cargo facilities)

Hello everyone;

I posted this request at ACE and at Voltaire's pages.  First i would like to say thanks for all your hard work.  your contrabutions are great.

I hate to be one of those people that just demands new lots or BATs instead of being thankful for the great stuff you guys put out.  But i do have one request and maybe you have this and if so just point me in the right direction.  If you could , i am looking for more Airport ground equipment, i.e.: Tugs, Fuel Trucks, shipping contaners, MHE (Material Handeling Equipment), K-Loaders, and so on. 

Is their a plan for any of this, if so great, if not could i make a humble request for it.  Also if i can be of any help, I don't BAT, but i am a dam good LOT maker, if u have the props i can put them together for you. or if your require a tester please let me know.

One other request as i know you love Airplaines - a DC10 would be nice, i would really like a KC10 (Airforce tanker) if at all posible. 

Anyway, thank you for the great work so far.

feliwi: Well... its not easy to just make an aircraft BAT or even textures--so unless a template is released and you have good photoshop skills, its not really possible to customize an airplane.  Even in automata modding, which is also hard to learn.  Oh, and I do have an upcoming minor release (an old hangar).  More in the development thread.

suplado: In my last posts, I said I'd try a few diagonal 777s.  I'll try testing it out.

Taylor1: I really have no experience in UDI modding... much like other aviation-type BATters and lotters out there.  There is a mod for that but I think it was removed for some reason... Maybe if you ask Fukuda he might release one of his UDI jet mods.  I've seen one of his in a picture.

ShadeSlayer: Good point, there is a skin for a military plane already.  But the fireplane is a (modified) C-130, a military plane.

Za: Well, I haven't learned to work on propellers yet but I'll consider making a few WWII planes.  I think there actually are a few of them out there...

Teddyb4492: More airport equipment?  That already is on my list so sure I'll BAT some of those--actually its on my list because I also want some more airport equipment.  I'll also place what Ace has already BATted on many different lots so it can be released quicker.  There are some KC-10 BATs out there.  One can be found in the Euk BAT pack (you'll have to lot it yourself though. ) but it looks to be undersized.  Otherwise I currently have little plans for a DC-10 due to that rear engine... Don't know how I could make that...  I might also re-release some of those hangars and buildings in that pack as well.

Those diagonal runways were made by dedgren, and the threads can be found over at SC4 Devotion.  Otherwise, I don't think there's any news on that as of now.
