I started working on a new region several weeks ago, starting off with an existing region (downloaded), but entirely re-handterraformed by me. I am not yet finished, still some minor details here and there to do. Only 35 % or so of  the lower left of the map is finished.

It is only a 8 x 12 Medium citytile region.

This map might replace Nexis of Genesis one day in the CJ section of ST or on another site, maybe the follow-up or a completely different CJ. It will have two large connected cities, one on the smaller river that comes in from the west and in between the two small snaky rivers crossing the big river also, and another one in the north-east of the map, where the flatlands of the big river meet the hills and swampy terrain further south.

Edit: I thought a couple of detailed pictures would help to see the immense details I have been putting into this region.

Here is a region shot from my CJ - Fortune. I started with a plain flat region and did some mass terraforming with SC4 Terraformer. Then I went in region by region to do some fine tuning by hand.

Here are some selected close ups from the region shot.

Man, I'm so jealous. These are great. Can you do mass terraforming on a Mac? I always see stuff like this and get inspired, but it could literally take me a day or two just to terraform my region! Is there a way I can edit huge areas instead of the one by one method? Thx.

Here is Marquette Bay, the region I'm working with right now. I still have two moderately large cities to do, both with airports and I have a ton of trees to plant along the coast on the mountains. Let me know what you think of my progress.

It's kind of a region shot, I used my region view and created a satellite view like on the online map websites. Features such as density, forests, lakes and rivers, highways and bridges can all be seen.

What's completed thus far on my region Tuscarora...

regionpreview1bu4.jpg

There are mountains to the East... you'll see the whole region eventually, when I'm done terraforming. (yeah I do the things the hard way b/c I haven't worked out my problems w/ the Terrain Generator)  Oh and sorry about the "noisy" pic... No photoshop here either.

Here is Terra, my beatiful region (Terra = Earth in portuguese) 2.gif. Now with almost 14,4mi inhab. and 15,9mi commercial jobs. Density aren't a trouble for air and water purity, and also good life quality!

Hi all, some great looking regions in the thread. Here is my new region after more than a year of not playing... It is based of the Cheboygan map found on the LEX. I have just finished planting out the region with trees, which took forever!...

Wow, the regions posted here are truly amazing and I am fascinated by all those regions which look so realistic.

Here is my first attempt at creating a decent region. I was originally planning on creating only one downtown but soon realized that I would not be able to reach the CO and CS cap to get skyscrapers with CAM, so I ended up adding two other downtowns. Now the region looks weird. 3.gif  Anyways, I am discontinuing this region for now and gonna start another one with same map but this time it will be better planned.

I am just now learning to create realism in the game so any suggestions are welcome.

Oh and the 'cross' seaport was completely unintentional. Didn't realize I had made it that way in terraformer until I finished plopping the whole port in the game. 18.gif
