lol, triple post! happens to us all.

Pilot I do believe that this is Volt's contest and he should tell people when they are wrong not you 4.gif

Well I give up because Volt read my mind and made a United 744 so I don't give a crap about anything else 3.gif

Seahawk: Well um... Yeah, but I still get confused about you mentioning that "bump that is a locator or something"... I don't think I've ever seen that on any 747.  Also, as far as I know, there isn't any window on the door, Seahawk.  I think Voltaire already made your KLM Seahawk.  It is a major 744 operator... same with Cathay Pacific and British Airways... so no worries for you.4.gif

Yoman: Well I'm just giving everybody a few facts so they can calculate if their airport could use a 747... Anyway you don't want an airport with a 747 landing on a 32m (about 105 ft.) runway don't you?20.gif

Anyway the only real airline I have in mind is Philippine Airlines... although they only operate four of them (not counting their 744M).  Anyway, If I do have the win, Philippine Airlines it is... this is for the fellow Filipinos dotted around ST2.gif (especially Filasimo48.gif).  Should be easy anyway... its just the tail, the flag, and the word Philippines.  No rush.

Somebody needs to work on more Westjet and Air Canada (Even though Air Canada is probably one of the worst airlines on earth) jets, aswell as a Canadian (though they shut down in 01)

Here are some pictures of planes that could be used:

and I'll throw this in for fun

Also, about that triple post, I don't know what happened there.

EDIT: How about a Boeing 777-200

    UPDATE

I got sidetracked this week: I spent a lot of time reducing the polycount on my models to cut down on the 40 minute rendering time2.gif. However, I did find some time to do some experimenting with a new jetway and concourse style:

    new jetway

    a 'spider' end piece

    jetwayfan1ln0.jpg

some CRJs thrown in for the general idea. I can't wait for voltaire's CRJ-liveries21.gif!

    jetwayfan2cl1.jpg

I'm going to give this stuff a break, as I'll go back to BATting terminals soon2.gif.

Awesome, are you going to make a terminal end where we can just plop something like the Dual jetways instead of using the spider, as well?

EDIT: By the way, don't get sidetracked again, I thought the project had died 3.gif.

Dude, this is like, awesome! I can't wait because, well, my airports are really repetitive now, even after lotting some pieces for my self! Really looking forward to this release. TopCliff

    ShadeSlayer:

    1) The spider end you see is for a new kind of concourse. I'll eventually make some spider ends for the regular concourses too.

    2) My new jetways aren't meant to handle aircraft bigger than the 737-700.

As for the double decker ones: I have never seen any 2 story jetways except the ones at Amsterdam Airport (schiphol) that ,I think22.gif, could reach the upper deck. But since I won't be BATting the A380, there's really no need2.gif.

    3) projects don't die after one week of no updates21.gif.

Ace: That jetway at Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport is in fact not a double-decker jetway.  It is a double-jetway, similar to the one that you made for the first Ace pack.

The spider concourse is great.  I'm just wondering how Voltaire's gonna make textures for that...

The rendering time does look long, so here's a tip: once you think the model's finished (you might have trouble editing it from here), select the whole model, right click it and convert it to an Editable Poly.  Doing so almost halves the number of polygons in your model.  I found out about this somewhere... Blahdy's Big Dig thread I think... I just can't remember who posted this on the thread...

One more thing--we're not the only ones BATting airplanes.  There is also Kumba.  He is currently working on a Boeing 767 pack with Filasimo.

Alot of airports are going to be making atleast one double decker jetways for the new A380, and if someone who wins Voltaire's contest requests an A380, or one gets BATted, then would you make a double-decker?

If I'm not mistaken...the prize of Voltaire's contest is selecting a livery for the Boeing 747-400 model that was co-developed by both he and ACE?

ACE has been asked about modeling the Airbus A380 many times already and he has always stated that he has "no plans" on modeling it.

If I may ask everyone...please do not request the A380 of ACE or Voltaire at this time. Both are extremely busy finalizing the Boeing 747, 737, CRJ-700, aswell as ACEs new Terminal packs and Voltaire's continued growth with his RMIP packs.

Believe me, there will be other planes coming in the future and they will certainly be worth the wait...but at the time being, the A380 is not going to be one of them.

Thanks for your understanding everyone and stay tuned for more updates.

    Stay Fabulous!

looks very nice!! like that there is more variation in aircraft at the airports... different liveries on the terminal will look very nice

good luck, because placing all the necessary airport stuff will be a challenge!

    no winner yet!

    shadeslayer 5 of 6 (7?)

seahawkfan, pilotdaryl, yoman -- multiple entries DQed -- only 1 guess each, no edits.

Name six differences between our 747-100 (Aer Lingus) and 747-400 (Virgin Atlantic). First correct poster may name a real-world airline to be put in this pack. Read the hints first! One entry per person. Editing your post gets it disqualified -- check it over before submitting. Contest ends when someone guesses correctly or we release the pack.quote>

    new hints:

windows change based on the airline - not always 36 on the upper deck for example. Both dimensional changes have been mentioned now.

    reminder:

these are differences visible in my screenies of the models, despite the different viewing angles. Minute details of the RL aircraft (inches of tail height for example) don't count, because they're not visible in the pics. I actually used the same tail on both btw.

there, that's 3 hints! And here's the images again:

    747-100

    747-400

    "shadeslayer 5 of 6 (7?)" - Voltaire

What can I say, that's just how I roll.

Voltaire, question that you neglected to answer (3.gif, lol) When are you expecting these to be released?

Edit: Damnit, I just figured out the last answer. Too bad I already entered.

one has winglets... one does not

windows on the upper deck... Virgin has them... other one is set up diffrent

    diffrent engines....

that hump thing in the back

edit: I know this makes my entry invalid.... but I noticed...  there is a Hatch for the upper deck on the VA but not on the AL AC

    darn 15.gif
