Alien_397 - 9.7/10. HOW DID YOU GET YOUR CITY TO LOOK LIKE THAT? 9.gif

ky72x - 8.7/10. Nice work. I want to see more of the area though. It looks very promising.

mpol:  Not entirely ingame if that's a clue2.gif

ky72x:  That's a really nice manufacturing area.  Really avoids that typical cluttered appearance simcity tends to produce in industrial areas.  8.5/10

Phew, I'm back! The last three days kept me very busy (the rush of Cities Unlimited made the rest).

Alien_397: Thank you for sharing my idea, I appreciate it! 43.gif

Btw, your pic... well, what can I say? You've created this beautiful country pack, I really love it! I just would like to see some cattle and farms, 9/10.

Shadow_prophet: Well, I may suggest some of the SOMY's Sci-Fi BATs. I downloaded some of them recently from SOMY's site and they have a stunning nightlight effect! They could be perfect for your Martian colonies.

Now, your shots: #1 is still repetitive, however that skyscraper (well, maybe spacescraper, LOL!) makes your work more interesting and out of the ordinary, 8/10. #3 is much similar to the #1 but, the towers on the sides seem excluded, 7/10. #2 is the best, I never played SimMars, but those buildings are placed quite well, 8.5/10.

However, so far you've posted many excellent images, and I liked the SimMars switch. With some more play, you could improve considerably; I do believe it! 2.gif

The_sanderson: The plaza is obviously what you want to show. Try some beautification tools to improve it and its surroundings, 7/10.

sEAhAwk fAn121: Your shot looks good and I like the off-grid harbor embankment, 8/10.

Alien_397: Nice shot. The buildings merge very well in the neighborhood. 9/10.

ky72x: Interesting picture! Looks like you have spent some time on it, 9/10.

Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. I'm still trying to get used to the sim mars atmosphere of gameplay and i downloaded some other futuristic Scifi Bats (in accordance to gabry85's suggestion)from the japanese sites since i believe they would fit well nicely into the area and match well with the terrain. Seems also that in order to make it look nice i need to completely seperate resedential, commercial and also industrial from one another to a certain extent. It's a sim colony not so much on a city i guess. lol

Once again thank you. I have began building a new colony and hopefully it will look better than the previous ones. I'll post pics as soon as i can.

I'm planning to post some images in the future and I would like to see what people think and see how can I improve my works.

The_sanderson: not bad, those slopes are a bit unrealistic though 8/10

Alien_397: really like that shot, very nice town 4.gif 9/10

ky72x: very nice shot, i don't think the cul de sacs fit into that industrial area, but that's just a small detail 8/10

i'll give this a try again:

I apologize for the number, it was taken from my CJ The Republic of Kreveshka.

I know that most people will say the lack of water walls will be the cause of a low rating.

But let me explain - In most eastern european cities that lye near water, without any port system tend to not have water walls because the focus of everything is more inward.

Here we are!

Alien_397-That is really cool, I love the realism in the picture. 8-10

Shadow_prophet-HMMM that really is not my style at ALL lol, its interesting but not exactly eye pleasing if you know what I mean, 7-10

The_sanderson- Well I LOVE the building in the top left corner, Im not very fancy of the area around it, including the steep terraforming around the plaza, although the complex itself does look nice, 7-10

Seahawk Fan121-that is looking pretty nice, Im loving all those towers 8-10

Alien_397- That is a different view point which is pretty cool 9-10

Ky72x- WOW I thought for a sec that was the work of Tomdapom, that looks really neat 9-10

Ilikehotdogsalot- Well everything you do just seems to be amazing, 9.9-10

Griffen_star- That is looking nice my friend I do love how that town looks and personally I think it looks better without the seawalls 9-10

Seahawk Fan121- Well because I saw how the bridge looked at you CJ Im going to give this an awesome rating because i LOVE how that bridge looks 9-10

The Sanderson- That is looking better my friend 8-10

Suplado- 9-10 I just have a sweat spot for those Middle eastern style cities lol 9.gif

Anyway here is something from Brittany (Tient), and yes I KNOW that there is no life, Im working on that, just take in the city instead 9.gif. This is once again with little photoshoping, as I just have not been in the mood to do fancy stuff. Here is the West edge of town, BTW that is not a sea or coast, but in fact a river, the Lorie River. Hope you like 19.gif.

The_sanderson: The Harbourside building makes the surroundings look great. The buildings all fit nicely with each other. 9/10

haljackey: The high tech building on the right kind of kills it for me. Other than that it's pretty nice. 8/10

Mars pic again. Trying with all sorts of futuristic lots. However those are quite a rarity despite the immense amount of stuff on the exchange (both STEX and the LEX.

SimCity42007-09-2322-00-33-40.jpg

The NAM works well with it but the CAM is still causing some unwanted annoyances from time to time. Most BAT's i downloaded are mostly from the japanese(Mainly SOMY and 2ch.net.simplayer) sites. I do believe in a way it fits in rather well. Anyone can reccomend me some futuristic lots i can download to help me out?

I'l post one last set of mars pic once this city fully develops (in its own miraculous way) before heading back down to earth.

Shadow_prophet: Wow, I knew it! Great improvements up there on Mars! I've never seen those skyscrapers and the monorail on the left before, but they fit very well! 9/10. 44.gif

Here are my ratings

Amerikaner - [Rating of 9/10] I love the spacious, yet clustered look. Though we need more french buildings on the STEX.

scotty222 - [Rating 8/10] I love downtowns with detail, it seems you have a lot of detail! Good job!

Insane Child of Bodom - [Rating 7/10] I love japanese BAT's! But it would be nicer to have a far out shot to get more detail of the surrounding region.

The_sanderson - [Rating 7/10] I love the gleaming aspects of it. All the buildings seem to shimmer with the light enhancement. Yet I think there is just a bit too many trees. Most downtowns have trees along avenues, or in a park setting.

haljackey - [Rating 6/10] I like the use of custom BAT's. But the Japanese Sakui BAT is out of place in that kind of present city. Also like I said before I love detail, the more details the better.

Shadow_prophet - [Rating 9/10] I don't really care about the repetative nature. I know you had no control over it. I love the japanese human tubes ha ha. I always wondered how those could really fit into a city and now I know!

gabry85:Thanks!! The monorail is just eyecandy though, can't really function and stuff, would be great if it could. My commute time and transportation infrastructure could really

use the help. It's a flipping mess right now.

Insane Child of Bodom: Your CJ hmm? well I guess that would explain it. Guess i'll have to check out your CJ then for it.

And you're right the mars pic is half way there. It's not even fully complete but i'm still trying my best to make it look halfway decent. and to minimize repetition of buildings as best as i can. Thanks for the rating.

Edit:

griffen_star: Lol posted at the same time, Thanks for the rating I'll still try to reduce repetetiveness by not making them to clustered however.  And the "human tubes"? lol I thought they were some kind of monorail or el-rail system!!

Haha yes actually. I think it may have been Kei who made them? They are based off Futurama's tube network ha ha.

Crusin_King: A littleplain for my taste but still it's good none the less. 7.5/10

All right this is the last time i'll pose a set of images like this so please excuse me just this once. 6 images in all. Choose which is the best (or worst) and rate it as you see fit. lol Sim mars has its limitations severely when it came to the transportation networks, However there were a few things that i didn't grow like the agricultural since the lots were pretty much the same over and over (there was only one type growing)

SO anyways here it is Hope it isn't too much of an eyesore.....

I begin with the main transportaion network and a little of the commercial side of town.

SimCity42007-09-2616-10-32-29.jpg

Then here is the high density resedential area:

SimCity42007-09-2616-11-31-10.jpg

At night The night mod was too dark (gizmo's day and night mod) so I had to photoshop more:

SimCity42007-09-2616-53-58-82.jpg

Low density residentials

SimCity42007-09-2616-11-40-59.jpg

Industrial:

SimCity42007-09-2616-11-15-32.jpg

And finally an overhead shot

SimCity42007-09-2616-10-16-20.jpg

I'll post one last pic of the space port on mars (still constructing) just to signify that I'm heading back down to earth again.
