I think he has the Columbus Terrain mod and obviously a hell of a lot of trees. The snow textures kick in at high elevations.

gonna try the mod, but what about the background for the region view.. I know the "Background3D#.png" files under the game folder but I still seem to have the regional view as default while when Im in a city I got my own backgrounds..

He's using Region Census. It takes pictures of your regions with black backgrounds.

hat road bridge is way to short for a port area you should rise it..the techni color pic looks pretty funny to me and doesnt make the pic look better..but besides that the industrial area is very nice:6.5/10

Ow.  There go my retinas.  I really like the old style port though.  It looks very 1900's.  I think 7.5 out of ten.  Go get SOMY's boats it will make the port seem busier.

Thanks for the positive comments guys .I'm going to use this place as a way to get some help from ya. What can I do to make it better? I really would love some suggestions.

I also want to stick to the old 1900's look. I guess that I have this notion that whilst I want my city to look as realistic as possible, I want to be my own little wonder world if that makes sense.

rodent1989 thanks for that suggestions, I shall do that tonight! I'd also love to make the images bigger, not sure how to.

I will be focusing more on industrial sections over the next few days. But as I said, more constructive suggestions guys.

And what I love about the Uni, and what I think is important when making a city, is that the architecture for that Uni all has a likeness. SO even when you place older buildings like the Maxis Uni, all of it is liked together, giving it it's own life. It's what I've tried to do with my industrial sector. But you've done a great job of it here.

Mpol - 6.6 / 10 - Honestly The walls look abit flat too me. I dont know why but they do. Plus how are you going to get ships through the low bridge clearances if that is a canal. It isnt the best and it needs work. Plus the photoshopping was terrible.

Surferb0i8o8 - 9.8 / 10 - I love the lighting and the coloration. One thing. Stay within the limits. Your pic is past 1200 on the end number.

bbfan02 - 6.7 / 10 - Repetiveness and also the sky line is too bukly and unrealistic.

topcliff - 8.0 / 10 - It would have looked nicer if it was done and landscaped . But I will give it a chance.

Because if you're asking how the whole base functions, I have a variety of concepts ranging from sci-fi to 2 realistic (okay slightly realistic) point of view. If you would like to know all i would be glad to state it and then you can choose which makes more sense to you.

RichardMH, if you look around you'll find some black backgrounds. All you need to do is replace those files in your plugin folder

with the new one (C/program files/maxis/plugins).

mpol, I like the original 8/10

bbfan02, I really like cities but this one is a bit repetitive. If there were not so many identical buildings & larger buildings

were more grouped together I could give you a 8.5/10 but I have to give you a 7.3/10
