szarkos, nice image, i like the beaches. but i agree with aleking, that needle doesn't fit in 8/10

mikeO, very cool pic. don't forget to turn off the UDI icons before making a shot.. also you must rate the picture above 8/10

specialeddie, nice description of the building, 7/10

SpecialEddie: its ok prefer more of a city veiw 7/10 nice building tho.

anubis89: under the critism of late, i agree some of those building dont go with that of the buildings oposite. 7/10 also some trees are orange some are bright green just a thought.

SpecialEddie: if i was new i would say that was one massive lot brilliant attention to detail imence 9/10

capitol1: i think using the simcity tool made all those carparks road using. needs more trees i think looks bare, also american concept of mall on avenue and then very british style terraced housing. 6/10

SpecialEddie: Picture 1: Very nice, good use of picture editing, 9/10. Picture 2: Again good use of picture editing with a nice plaza, 9/10.

anubis89: Good job with the trees, though the buildings are a little repetitive, 7/10.

capitol1: Nice, I would recommended you add more fauna and try to reduce the amount of repeating buildings, 6/10.

SpecialEddie: 9/10 for both pictures.  They look amazing!

anubis89: Pretty good, pretty good. 8.5/10

capitol1: The avenue area is quite bland.  All those commercial buildings would have looked better along the main road, it doesn't look realistic sitting on a small side street like that. 6/10

    RIght, from the top:

szarkoz: I like that - I wouldn't worry about the transmitter (?) tower since that's the sort of are where you normally find them. However, I do think the pink farm sticks out like a sore thumb..... 9/10

MikeO: Not enough people leave open space in their downtown areas, which is why I think its great you've gone away from the concrete juncgle routine. I'm not sure if the park/plaza lots are the modding 'experiments' you mentioned, but they look good, even if they don't link up perfectly 2.gif ..... 8/10

SpecialEddie: I'd buy one! You are selling these apartments, right? Its a nice picture, although the text is a little hard to read - it gets lost in the background a bit.My only other gripe is that the soft edges make it look like its been airbrushed to death (even though it probably hasn't) - its a pet hate of mine, sorry. Anyway, a nice picture, but I think some of the additional stuff detracts from it a bit..... 7/10

anubis89: That's some bright trees! If this picture was taken in, say, late spring, it'd be fantastic, but the colours used in the seasonal trees are a bit too vibrant from my taste, and they really overwhelm your picture. My attention keeps getting drawn to the trees instead of what is otherwise a very nice, very realistic small town/suburban area. Did I mention the trees?..... 7½/10

SpecialEddie: Part II: Overall, I like this better than your other picture. It still has the same problem with the text but we've been there already. The subject matter is a little uninspiring, but I can't fault you for it because it thats what a lot real-life malls look like, so good job on the reality! I guess hiring some architects is too much to ask for some..... 7½/10

capitol1: Its a little bit plain really - just an expanse of flat, repetative low-rise. As others have mentioned, the easy way to fix this is by going on a tree planting binge, especially on the grassy area around the avenue. All your residential areas need is some parks, schools, libraries, etc to break up the block upon block of small dreary houses. However, if your going for that low socio-economic look, you've got it perfectly! The commercial area at the top does look nice too, and provided the avenue stays as limited access, it's placed nicely too..... 6½/10

ky72x: I hope capitol1 is watching, because this scene is similar in construction, but looks a million times better because of the trees. Presumably this is a relatively new development of yours (empty sections), but the commercial and residential areas bothe seem to be developing nicely. The cycle paths and trees also give that central road a very nice mini-avenue feel. I've just spotted that wall at the bottom, but I can't for the life of me figure out why its there? It doesn't look like a gated community. Anyway, nice pic, but I think it'll be even better in a few (sim)years..... 7½/10

Here's my offering to the forum gods, a stony ford that was the only way across the river before the bridge you can see was built. Tough ride in a horse-drawn coach!

    siberiafordov3.jpg

NB: I'm not trying to be overly harsh in my critiques, so my apologies if I've offended anyone. If you won't accept my apology, you can always rip the hell out of my picture instead!

I just saw that now - it didn't show up at work for some reason 42.gif

    Oh well, here goes then!

Shinnie02: Let me guess... plopped the lot? Perfect symmetry is often seen in road layouts, but never over an area this big! But I guess that you knew that already since its so obvious. The pic does look nice, but its essentially a piece of art rather than a city. It just looks sterile to me - too clean - probably a function of the symmetry and the night-time hiding smaller details. But I'm here to rate an image..... 8/10

ky72x: A very "clean" layout, good overall, 8/10.

Joe 90: Nice, realistically pleasing and detailed, 9/10.

To be honest, there is no need for a barrier between the tracks and the houses. The train is sunken, so the noise is taken care of.

I take similar looking path to work every day, and I can see the houses perfectly, into the gardens etc.

    9.9/10

thats ture normally it is too expensive to dig holes in ground to place rail so they build up embankment styles.

You might also notice its a colour picture taken from the air! Not easy to do that back then! 2.gif It's meant to be a historical feature viewed in modern times - hence the old staging post is now a small town. And good luck finding a CJ, because there isn't one - yet...

Back to the pics - the ones I can see anyway!

Mulefisk: I must confess to not knowing anything about the Norwegian style, but personally I'd like to see a few more trees on the grass, or some gardens, or just some landscaping in general. The cathedral is a nice centrepiece, and from what I have seen of Oslo your scene would definately fit in. Good job..... 8/10

Squizer: I'm stuck in two minds. It looks like your industrial area and seaport is suffering from a plague of environmentalists - its *too* green! I think you could easily bulldoze half your grass areas and replace them with widget factories and stil have a very green industrial area. The one area it does work though, is the waste water plant, because noone wants to go near those anyway. The dirt/rock walls (the brown stuff!) also look good..... 7/10

Thanks.  Actually the wall is there to separate the industrial area from my residential.

Your pic looks very nice.  I like all the details in the river. 8.5/10

Mulefisk: I will agree with Joe 90, it looks very nice. 8/10

Squizer: Very nice looking, but like Joe said there is too much grass around. 7.4/10

    Squizer:

i love that port u have thought about what things should be done par example... the transition between dock and emankment is 'the best' i have ever seen thats a real talent perhaps the wrong colour emanbment was used but other than that a really nice dock. like other have said all the grass around the rail i would prefere to see concrete as it is a dock or like fish markets or somin.... 98/9.10

    capitol1:

Nice little image reminds me of a place in liverpool i recently visited. where the buildings where all around and there was a lake like that in the middle. now looking at ur image it doesnt seem right...  so i give it 6/10 to boost that i would terraform... no arrow mod... make that park stick out less ect... nice buildings tho...

    crazychickensc12

like you lil city its what im working on at the moment i like the tower also i dont understand why people didnt like the pink farm coast picture on the previous page i loved that... really realisitc bar the pink farm. i give this image 7/10
