Hrm... this looks fun...

Lets see, aaronperry... to be blunt, I find that shot extremly unrealistic. Power plants not only directly behind mid-rise housing, but up against a elevated highway in the middle of a city. And then the single family housing up against a highway is fine, but you have mid-rise commercial buildings directly across the street.. Overall, 6/10.

And heres one from me.

PortCapircorn-Sep2.jpg

I'm more posting this to get feedback, so let me have it. Its a developement in the back of a new city I'm working on. Its very new england because thats what I'm used to and enjoy working with. I'm disapoited becasue I haven't done enough of my plop-farms yet to fill in that un-developed farm zone. The commercial area went array and now I have some royally ugly buildings one on top of the other, I'll fix that later today. Also... the bike path became hidden, but it's there, and will later continue on where the rail section is, modeled after the rail-to-trails project in new england. 2.gif

the most realistic pic i have ever made of a council estate near where i live, btw high speed rail is the only alternative to the rail that is used in real life near me.

The overabundance of concrete and the semi-urban semi-suburban atmosphere. Its nothing against your city. I just really dont like scarborough. lol

aaronperry... your layout and infrastructure is very well done. However you always seem to have some slums right where they don't belong. Try to control where the diferent wealth housing grows.

Davidtothej, what are the walls you are using on the highway? Jeronji residential, and some other ones?

    Great images.

As AK pointed out, there is indeed a dilapidated building but... I just wonder, does it really makes the picture worse? You often see some dilapidated buildings in real life, and as your signature says "realistic cities", this is quite realistic to see an ugly "landmark" in a city. For example in Cracow there is a really awful, never finished building. It's just a steel and concrete construction that stays abadonded for years. It isn't pretty at all but it is noticable. Everyone in Cracow know it.

I'll give 8/10 for your picture anubis, it would be 9/10, but the bad thing for me about it is the fact that some buildings are quite repetive, I particularly mean the light brown\white blocks, I don't care about the smaller ones. Of course, I know that if you want to grow your city this is hard to get every building different to each other, but we still have to rate an image here... So it's 8/10. Nice job.

8/10 aleking..it may be extremly impressive but its alittle to dense.

    9/10 anubis-love the highway.

Pretty big skyline for a city of 30k eh?
