sorry to bump an oldish thread - but you can use the individual NAM puzzle pieces pretty well do to that. If you turn the avenue into a one-way-road just underneath where your bridge will be, you can easily do it :-)

Before the NAM this could be done like this: When an avenue ends at a one way road you can drag a one way road from both tiles from the avenue, making two parallel but (hopefully) opposite-direction one way roads. They can then be split to your liking.

You're looking for the Avenue Roundabouts, which can be found in the Network Addon Mod.  If you don't have it already, [click here to get it].  If you do have it (and you should), you can find the roundabouts in the transportation menu.  You have to plop it down...they won't build by themselves.  Once you plop it down, though, you can connect all the avenues to it.

Hope that helps!

I Don't Know Why Peoples Need To Do Long/Hard Job.. Why You Need To Split Ave? You Can Just Use One Way Roads..

Split Avenues have a higher capacity and speed than OWRs. But this method was most often used to create GLR down the middle of Avenue, puzzle pieces are now included in the NAM which make tis redudant by squeezing it into 2 tiles not 3.

Don't forget the game is a LOT about appearances.. 4.gif Some people like the look of some thiings just because.. no matter what. In the "old days" they just made "eye candy" lots (ie things that don't work at all but look good) but now they have HUGE flexibility with various user-developed "goodies" .. enjoy them... if ya don't wanna use em.. ummmm.. DON"T 2.gif

Plus there's always the "because it's there" reason.. hehe
