Nice CJ. Have just looked at page 8. Looking really good.

I have a question, this train here, where do I find it:

Isn't that the normal EL train?

EDIT: Stupid, I didn't mention anything about the CJ! I think its good, you're building the city in a nice, detailed way! Keep that up!

    how_deep:  Haha. Thanks!
    kmoh4346:  Glad you like it.  Thank you.
    aleking:  I'm glad you liked the shot with the train going over the freeway.  It's doesn't really show off the city but it's one of my favorite pics.
    oroen:  Thanks.  Glad you like the trains and Northwood.
    alexr15:  Wow, Atlanta, huh?  That's ironic.  When you leave to go to Stanford I'll actually be in school in Atlanta (Georgia Tech).  And yep, I'm a regular poster at UrbanPlanet (I love that place).  I have the same username there.
    pipishere:   Thank You so much!
    jglei701:  The walls are located in the STEX.  Go there and do a search for Alpha Ville.
    jacqulina:  Thank you.
    Shadow_Assassin:  Haha.  Thank You.  I can't have Uptown completely full of rich ($$$) snooty sims...gotta get some good ol' hardworking $$ sims in there somewhere. 2.gif  Glad you like the maps.
    Glenni:  Thanks! 9.gif
    simster6:  Thank you...and this CJ will keep alive and well...although there is a catch (more about that in a sec...).
    sloppet:  Thank you.  And the history of Cleres is looking good.  Can't wait for the official start of the CJ.  Welcome back and I'm glad you're better!
    vester_DK:  Yep, as Dutchdragon said, those are the regular El trains included in the game.
    Dutchdragon:  Thanks.  Glad you like.

    Everyone:  Thanks again for the amazing response.  I never thought in my wildest dreams that Lattica would be this popular.  So thanks, and yes, this CJ will continue on but as I said earlier, there is a catch.  Sadly, a new semester starts again in exactly one week.  And that means that updates will come at a much slower rate than they are coming now.  I'm an arch. major, which means less time to play with SC4, so there will be 5 - 13 days between updates.  I hope you don't forget about Lattica...and remember that the CJ will pick up speed on breaks, holidays and vacations.  So hang in there, this CJ ain't goin' anywhere. 28.gif  In the meantime, enjoy the next week of updates!  Ok, on with the show...

    Lattica Continues to Boom with Growth
    Davidson County's population jumped from just over 100,000 in the last update to 123,429...most of that population gain happened on the east side of the river, which is good news for the once ailing River City.  West Lattica is no longer the star child of Davidson County as its population saw a slight decline, the first in the history of that city.  It seems that sims are now attracted to the big city life.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/5786/29os.jpg align=baseline>
    Uptown and nearby Midtown saw the most growth.  High-rises popped up on nearly every other street corner, which is good news as most new construction in this city seems to be low density sprawl.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6484/35iv2.jpg align=baseline>
    Don't go looking on this block for a home unless you've got millions of simoleons and a Chase Bank savings account.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1253/49co.jpg align=baseline>
    Northcrest Mall just opened for business.  This is Lattica's second mall.  Lattica Mall, located in West Lattica, just changed its name to West Davidson Mall.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7/58nq.jpg align=baseline>
    As Midtown exploded with growth, Riverwatch Pkwy. found itself choking in traffic.  The popular thoroughfare turned into a virtual parking lot every rush hour, so Hemstead DOT decided to build an alternate route that connected Uptown to Midtown and Downtown...the result was the MidCity Connector.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4562/61dr.jpg align=baseline>
    MidCity connector begins at I-265 in Uptown and ends at Midtown Ave. near the HSU campus.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/769/76hl.jpg align=baseline>
    The Downtown skyline just changed a bit.  The new Bosworth Tower was constructed, bringing The River City a little closer to the sky.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8509/84ck.jpg align=baseline>
    Following the success of Bristol Park, sims flocked to southeast Davidson County at a rapid pace.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3347/90iv.jpg align=baseline>
    A City Within A City: The Promenade at Bristol Park just opened.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3164/105nc.jpg align=baseline>
    The offices, upscale big box stores and apartment buildings added some much needed density to this suburb of Lattica.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9833/113in.jpg align=baseline>
    All the growth to the southeast of the city is causing some serious traffic problems in the city.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1901/120mx.jpg align=baseline>
    Central Avenue is at its worst.  Traffic pileups have now become a daily matter for downtown.  DOT is currently looking into options that will help ease traffic congestion on the south side of the city.  A new interstate highway and new elevated rail lines are being considered.

    <ahttp://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3913/137zv.jpg align=baseline>
    The largely untouched land of Northwest Davidson County may see its first major development.  A small private university is considering establishing a campus in the rural area.

    I really like this last suite of pictures. Especially standing out to me are the setup of the West Davidson Mall (using the anchor buildings separately, spacing them out and filling in to give a better scale, something I'm working on as well), the short Midcity Connector as a relief route, and the city within a city concept of the Promenade at Bristol Park.

    MayorTim: Thanks, man. You've been with Lattica since the very beginning (heck, you stayed with Caspen till the end) and I really do appreciate it.
    city_lover-niko: It's a done deal.  Your new Uptown mansion is under construction...look for it in the next update!  And no, Northwood wasn't in the old Lattica.
    aleking: Thanks.
    gurrgkud: Welcome to Lattica.  I'm always glad to get new visitors.  Thanks and I hope you enjoy your stay.
    Shadow_Assassin: You know it!
    Traffic_Jam: As always, thanks!
    oroen: Thanks.  I'm glad you liked the last update (although it seemed a bit scattered to me).
    jacqulina: Thanks so much.
    2s: Thanks.  Welcome to Lattica.  And my shots may be a pixel or two too big...we'll see about making some adjustments before the next update.
    Everyone: Sadly, this is the last update for a little while.  School's starting back up and it's time to concentrate on that.  So if you don't hear from me in a while, remember that the CJ isn't over...updates are just going to come at a much slower pace.  So until the next update, here's a little preview of what's to come...
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________

    Coming Soon: Milton - Springfield County
    Warning: The majority of the city is still under construction, so don't look for much eye candy in this update. 2.gif

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7522/18ov.jpg align=baseline>
    About 25 miles northwest of Lattica lies its newest suburban city, Milton.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/4661/23wk.jpg align=baseline>
    Milton enjoys great views of Lattica's acclaimed Chastain River.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/9530/33pq.jpg align=baseline>
    I-70, Lattica's mega-sized perimeter highway is making a comeback.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7780/47gf.jpg align=baseline>
    At an astounding 10 lanes, I-70 will provide sims of the north side of the city with problem-free commutes.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/610/53bf.jpg align=baseline>
    Springfield County is a good distance from the city, but the short commute to a quieter city is worth it.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/6833/69to.jpg align=baseline>
    Milton's main street is extra-wide to support future high traffic volumes.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/377/78uy.jpg align=baseline>
    The relocation of major businesses to the beltway area will entice suburban sims to work in Lattica's outer counties, which will in turn traffic congestion in the heart of the city.

    <ahttp://img369.imageshack.us/img369/8576/84iz.jpg align=baseline>
    The I-65/I-70 interchange is still under construction...along with the rest of Milton.

    Looks great, good progress on the city, eh?

    I especially like the pic of the building with the two highways behind - kinda reminds me of the M2 in Sydney.

    You have made quite an impressive traffic network. Together wıth those terraformed terraces and ıt makes a rellz good design.

    It is ok if you have to slow down on SC4 since RL consumes your time - it is normal!

    You did some great work!

    sloppet: Thanks again!
    Dutchdragon: Glad you like the 'burbs.
    simster6: Thanks so much.
    gurrgkud: Thanks and I'm glad you like Milton.
    aleking: Thank you.
    Shadow_Assassin: Thanks...and as you can tell I like highways a little too much, haha.
    jacqulina: Thank you.
    Nardo69: Thanks!  I'll keep posting updates when I can.
    Everyone: Sorry it's been a while since the last update.  Here's the lastest on Milton - Springfield County.  There may be another update or two coming soon.
    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6273/11gb1.jpg align=baseline>
    The explosion of grown in Springfield County brings the River City's metro population to just over 140,000.

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/4259/25cf.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Milton continues to gain in density.  Businesses are finding the easy access to Lattica's beltway area a plus.

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6488/33dz.jpg align=baseline>
    I-70/I-65 Interchange

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6399/48le.jpg align=baseline>
    Main St./I-70 Interchange

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/4894/50qj.jpg align=baseline>
    Even though Milton is remarkably dense, it's still a suburban city.

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/7682/65yg.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown Milton is becoming increasingly urban as sims keep flocking to the city.

    <ahttp://img391.imageshack.us/img391/8826/75os.jpg align=baseline>
    New highways have opened up lands north of Milton for even more of Lattica's sprawl.

    Look for more updates soon!

    Nice suburbs. And as usually another great highway design ..!

    But I don't want to live in that lonely house on the dam with the road in front of the door and the highway right next to it ...

    Nardo69: Haha. Not many sims would want to live in that house...I feel sorry for the poor joe who does.
    jacqulina: Thanks so much...got a nightshot for ya comin' up!
    aleking: Thanks again.  It took a lot of practice to learn how to force my sims to use certain roads.
    Everyone: Here's one more update for ya.  As you know school's coming at me full force so Lattica has to take backseat to my busy schedule right now.  We'll see if I can squeeze in another update sometime soon.  See ya then!

    Sagemont has the advantage of having a riverfront campus, a plus for students who like the scenery...not so good for those students who get a little too stressed out from the university's rigor.  11.gif

    Ashley Hills: Davidson County's Newest City

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/5949/87oa.jpg align=baseline>
    It all started with I-70, Lattica's perimeter highway.  DOT decided to complete a portion of the highway in northeast Davidson County before Lattica's sprawl eats away the land.  Hotel execs noticed the land's tumbling hills and before you know it, a high-rise hotel is born.  And that was the birth of Ashley Hills, a small unincorporated town northeast of the city.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/861/90ai.jpg align=baseline>
    I-70/Ashley-Lattica Blvd. Interchange - This part of the interchange is exit-only to prevent future traffic problems.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2447/105mk.jpg align=baseline>
    I-70/Ashley-Lattica Blvd. Interchange - The onramps are located a little farther down the highway.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9161/115vb.jpg align=baseline>
    Several housing developments are already in the works for this growing town.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/8656/127mb.jpg align=baseline>
    Ashley Hills features lush landscaping along major transportation routes.

    Northeast Expwy and East Davidson Pkwy connect Ashley Hills with Lattica.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9131/157ap.jpg align=baseline>
    The roads are empty now, but they will be heavily traveled by the next update.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1082/163be.jpg align=baseline>
    The construction has already started.

    <ahttp://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2842/175rp.jpg align=baseline>
    Ashley Hills isn't too far from the core city.
