wks, this is my first time replying to this cj of yours. First off, I would like to say that I have been reading every page of this city journal since yesterday, and I love it! IT is AMAZING. You obviously have the skills and the determination to actually rebuild the river city and make it even better. I give this cj a 10/10, for originality, greatness..and all around a wonderful city(s)! I look foward to more updates, and you have given me more inspirations for my own cities. Keep up the awesome work! 29.gif _mcafee_ok=1

I love the way you've incorporated the embankement set with the bridges. Highways are impressive too! Keep up the good work

    The recent growth of this CJ and introduction of new visitors is unprecedented.  I am both touched and honored by the growing interest in Lattica.  So as a 'thank you' gift, the following update is dedicated to all of you.  Your interest, comments and suggestions helped make Lattica what it is; so the city has decided to build a welcome center just for you.  Here's to you guys...

    oroen: Thanks!  And I'm glad you like the West Davidson corridor...it's really shaping up to be the suburban strip center, isn't it?

    utora:  Thank you and I'm glad you like it.  As for the highway texture problem, I've never faced it and I wouldn't know how to help you, sorry.  I hope SA's suggestion helped you out.

    Shadow_Assassin: Thanks!  Gotta love the night shots.

    Latexmaali: Thanks and I'm glad you like the highways.

    GLENNI: Thanks for showing the highways some love!

    Traffic_Jam: Thank you.

    jacqulina: Glad you're liking it.

    skyrock: Wow.  I'm speechless.  I'm glad that Lattica could inspire you.  Welcome to The River City.

    ianclowe4c: Thank you so very much.  Never gotten so many thumbs ups before, haha.  I'm honored that you used Lattica to inspire your own CJ...that's gotta be a first.  By the way, Parkriver is gorgeous.  I love the low-density layout.  I'll be keeping an eye on your CJ.  Lookin' good.

    aleking: Glad you like it.

    city_lover-niko: Thanks and welcome to Lattica.

    Nardo69: Thank you.

    simster6: Thanks.  It feels so good to know that Lattica helped others to form their own cities.  And a 10/10 has got to be the highest compliment.  Thanks again!

    HattonMonado: Thank you so much.  I'm glad you like the terraforming.

    Everyone: What an incredible response.  I can't say enough how surprised and honored I am to see so much interest generated in the CJ.  It's even flattering so see that Lattica has actually inspired other CJ's out there.  Wow.  Summer's coming to a close and once fall semester begins updates will come at a much slower pace.  But have no fear, Lattica will continue on.  I'm going to try to update as often as possible before the summer ends.

    The tourist industry seemed to explode overnight.  Major hotel chains couldn't seem to build hotels fast enough.  Resorts are cropping up faster than some of the city's suburban homes.  City officials decided that Lattica should be a more welcoming place for tourists.  The end result was the new Lattica Convention, Visitor's Bureau & Welcome Center.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/1552/34pf.jpg align=baseline>
    The new welcome center spurred growth around the airport.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/829/60ni.jpg align=baseline>
    The Convention Center is perfect for large events.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/8397/70cr.jpg align=baseline>
    The Convention Center's adjacent hotel is also a relaxing resort with spectacular views of the river.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/7893/82nz.jpg align=baseline>
    The new welcome tower soars into the West Lattica skyline and serves as the welcoming token to visiting sims.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3883/90vk.jpg align=baseline>
    A slew of hotels cropped up along the airport's southern borders.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/44/109vt.jpg align=baseline>
    Hotels to the west of I-65 are very affordable.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/6153/119cm.jpg align=baseline>
    Now you can stay for a visit without missing your flight or your conference.

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/6897/129gn.jpg align=baseline>
    When was the last time you booked a trip to Lattica?

    <ahttp://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3509/132lc.jpg align=baseline>
    A forest in a city:  The Chastain forest was one of the best things to happen to Lattica.  The forested west banks of the river not only make Lattica more attractive to tourists, but it also creates a beautiful blend of urban style and natural beauty, plus it reduces pollution in the city.

    Thank you for visiting The River City.

    The Lattica Convention, Visitor's Bureau & Welcome Center is Lattica's token of appreciation to you.  Look for more updates soon.

    simster6: Thanks!  I'm glad you like the bundle of hotels.
    Traffic_Jam: Thanks so much.
    GingerBlokey: I'm glad you like the scenery.  Thank you.
    simster6: Thanks again.
    city_lover-niko: There aren't many mansions in West Lattica.  You should take a look at Uptown for the real deal.  Maybe some new communities will come up later that you might be interested in. 2.gif

    Davidson County is now sitting comfortably at 102,000 sims...about 30,000 sims away from the county's peak population of 133,000.

    After facing years of a stagnant population, Lattica gets a huge boost due to rapid suburban growth east of the city.

    <ahttp://img306.imageshack.us/img306/6329/33xh1.jpg align=baseline>
    The East Park development features condominiums surrounding a local park.

    <ahttp://img306.imageshack.us/img306/6119/48df1.jpg align=baseline>
     Newer developments to the east of the city are bringing some economic relief to some of the poorest areas in Hemstead.

    <ahttp://img306.imageshack.us/img306/6894/58vd.jpg align=baseline>
    Luxury automakers are beginning to locate several of their dealerships along East Davidson Parkway.

    <ahttp://img306.imageshack.us/img306/6299/62ib.jpg align=baseline>
    Rapid growth to the east of the city is also causing traffic snarls on I-10.

    <ahttp://img306.imageshack.us/img306/4677/76kc.jpg align=baseline>
    Downtown traffic is also getting progressively worse, especially near the Capital District.

    Rozier Homes is proud to announce its largest community in Davidson County, Bristol Park.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2699/map1dg.jpg align=baseline>

    Bristol Park is located in southeast Davidson County, away from the hustle and bustle of Lattica, but just a 10 minute commute to the city's gorgeous Capital District.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/5985/25uc.jpg align=baseline>
    Over 1,000 sims call Bristol Park home.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/9892/47xb.jpg align=baseline>
    Bristol Park features parks and flower gardens throughout the community.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2121/57cx.jpg align=baseline>
    The second entrance is located on the Southeast Expressway.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/8426/62bj.jpg align=baseline>
    This family friendly community is divided into four sub-communities, each housing 250-300 sims.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/4379/71cu.jpg align=baseline>
    Sims enjoy meeting neighbors and friends at the area parks.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/9442/80co.jpg align=baseline>
    Despite its location outside the city, Bristol Park utilizes all of Lattica's utilities and services.

    <ahttp://img79.imageshack.us/img79/6417/91ba.jpg align=baseline>
    Coming Soon: The Promenade at Bristol Park, a new phase of family apartments and a small retail center.

    If I may ask, how would one go about changing the texture of the highways to asphalt?  I've searched all over the STEX and NAM threads and can't seem to find it.

    Lots of expansive growth here, and those maps are nice--simple but get the main picture.

    I love what you do with those cliffs and all of your props. Hghways look nice too. The city seems a bit squared off where development ends and wilderness begins, but overall great job!

    kb: Haha, that's great!  Thanks so much.  I love the ketchup rating.  May Lattica always bring you the best ketchup from the freshest tomatoes.
    GLENNI: Thanks for sticking around.  I'm glad you like it.
    RogueNine: I'm glad you got your asphalt highways working.
    oroen: Oh you have no idea.  Lattica is turning into quite the sprawling mass, but all will be revealed in a couple of updates.
    newyorkrunaway: Thank you and nope, I'm not from Nashville.  Believe it or not, I'm from Macon, Georgia.
    Buffalonian1: Welcome to Lattica and thank you!  I'm pleased that you like the city.  The city edges hit abrupt wilderness because I'm still filling it out, but in due time you'll begin to see some transitional farmland.
    aleking: As always, thanks and I appreciate that you've followed Lattica for so long.
    Everyone: This isn't really a full update but I just finished a nice little Uptown community and thought I'd show it off to you guys.  Hope you like...

    Uptown was always known as an endless sea of office towers and high-rise condominiums with a few scattered mansions, full of young affluent sims who like to live a hip lifestyle...until now.  Northwood brings the best of family life to Lattica's elegant and trendy Uptown district.  This prestigious community is the first to welcome families to the north side of town.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/3862/map6sm.jpg align=baseline>

    Northwood is minutes away from all that Lattica has to offer.  From Downtown, take I-10 west to I-65 north, then take I-265 north and exit left at the Northwood Drive Exit.  The Northwood entrance will be 2 miles on your left.

     <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5488/a9qe.jpg align=baseline>
    Northwood offers a wide variety of affordable family homes in a spacious and wooded community.

    <ahttp://img357.imageshack.us/img357/6596/b7hr.jpg align=baseline>
    Northwood also offers a few stately mansions along Northwood Drive.

     <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/2182/19zk.jpg align=baseline>
    North Davidson County is a tranquil place for families to settle.

    Northwood Entrance

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/8099/39jt.jpg align=baseline>
    The subdivision features a clubhouse and lake.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/6889/44ut.jpg align=baseline>
    Lots are on sale now.  Custom-built homes are from the 200s.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/3306/53wa.jpg align=baseline>
    It's hard to believe that this peaceful community is in Uptown's backyard.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/7997/62mh.jpg align=baseline>
    Northwood is a quick drive away from Uptown amenities via Upper River Parkway.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/1842/72wf.jpg align=baseline>
    The hustle and bustle of Downtown and the Lattica Mall are a quick drive down I-265.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/7726/86ig.jpg align=baseline>
    If sims prefer mass transit, Northwood is conveniently located near the Northside LATA Station.  The station also offers Park and Ride service.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/4386/91iy.jpg align=baseline>
    Shopping is very close by.  Try the upscale Shoppes of Uptown located on Northside Pkwy.

    <ahttp://img363.imageshack.us/img363/433/106wy.jpg align=baseline>
    If Northwood sims still like the get out and let loose every now and then, Uptown's bars and clubs are only a skip away.

    I really like those pink/orange wall/fences you have there.  I looked for them on the STEX, and I can't seem to find them.  Did you make them yourself, or am I just missing something?

    Nice work!
