I'm sure that somebody will get to your request eventually, but we have too much on our plate now. As soon as we're done the requests that are piled up, we'll get on yours. Thanks, I hope you understand.

Sorry RHF,   I didn't realize there were two threads on this. I figured it would've been better to post it on this one instead. Anyways,  no hurry   i just thought i would get it on the list before it becomes too large.   again,  my apologies

I won't make a request at this point, given you're flooded atm, but I'm posting anyway because I just want to say that I appreciate what you're doing here.

    Hey everybody!

This will be the request thread for the Mapp Squad. If you have a map you want to see on the STEX, post it here and one of our excellent map-makers will get right to it. Have fun with your requests!

Now, the request rules. These rules were written by the_new_simman, who built on comdude21's idea for request guidlines. This only contains the rule for dead requests, a big issue here at the Mapp Squad

    DEAD REQUEST RULES, by the_new_simman

    Dead Requests

Okay, now on to dead requests. This is starting to become an issue. REQUESTS! I really like comdude's rules about having a request and would like those posted on the first post of the request thread. RHF, you will have to help out here since you are the owner of that thread and I cannot edit it. RHF, to keep requests organize I need you to make a list of all past, present, and future requests. This will help the mapp squad know what requests are done or have not yet been started.

A request will be called a dead request when the following happen:

    1. The member that requested the map never brings the map idea up again and does not show any interest in the maps progress. Signs of not being interested include but are not limited to; not contact the Mapp Squader that is fulfilling the request, not posting in the requests thread to remind anyone, and just not doing anything what so ever.
    2. A request can also become dead if it is not taken up by a Mapp Squader in 2 days.

There are also ways a request will be noticed and will be picked right away. These ways are:

    1. More than one member requests the same map, especially if conditions 1 and 2 are at least somewhat true.
    2. If you get a group of members together 5-10 and request the map by making a thread.

That's pretty much it. These rules can only help the Mapp Squad, therefore helping the ST community, so abide by them or we will be forced to ignore you.

Now, a list of all maps being worked on and unfulfilled. This will be updated regularly.

    Southern California, CA
    Minneapolis, MN
    Las Vegas, NV
    Columbus, OH
    Brisbane, Australia
    Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
    Great Yarmouth, UK
    Des Moines, IA
    San Jose, CA
    Boston, MA
    Mexico City, Mexico
    Monterrey, Mexico
    Madison, WI
    Los Angeles, CA
    Rochester, NY
    Norwich, Norfolk, England
    Mallow The Cloud(or Mario)
    Milpitas, CA
    Memphis, TN
    Bermuda
    Greater Kansas City Area
    Jackson, Wyoming
    Onslow County, NC
    Cincinnati
    Greater Melbourne Area(2 maps)

    That's all.

Congratulations on the forum guys! I hope you can make good use of it. I'd suggest a gander at the NDEX forum, for organization ideas. Good luck 2.gif44.gif

Thanks for the compliments, cammo and fosterk. It's great for our work to be appreciated. Even though I will check with TNS first, I think each of us Mapp Squaders should have their own thread for their maps, like the NDEX members do.

BTW, to anyone wanting to request a map, the official request day is Saturday. We will take three requests each Saturday. Although I will have to check with TNS to see if we will take the first three requests that come, or choose which ones we want to do. We might still be working through some requests that we haven't gotten around to yet.

Just thought I might post the list of current requests which still need to be fulfilled.

    Minneaoplis, MN
    Fort Meyers, FL
    Dover, NJ
    New York City, NY
    Sydney, Australia
    Washington, DC
    Amsterdam, Netherlands
    Las Vegas, NV
    Everett, WA
    Columbus, OH

Also, a couple requess have come in since then...

    Indianapolis, IN
mrp2005's hometown (what city is that?)

These last two requests may not be finished until a couple weeks from now, but we will try to get everything done asap so we can start taking requests again.

Mallow, did you not already complete Sydney?
    quote>

I thought so too. Also, TNS already did NYC, if I'm not mistaken.

I'll take up one of those maps to release on Saturday (Map request day). I'll probably make Dover, NJ because I live in New Jersey. 10.gif

Hmm... well, I created the beaches north of Sydney.... and Charizard requested a more zoomed-in version of NYC...

Though, since TNS did do a version of NYC, that one is probably less urgent than the rest. 1.gif

And, for Saturday, I will do Amsterdam, Netherlands and Everett, Washington, and if time I will also try to do Sydney, Australia also.

EDIT: I just found that there is already a great map of Amsterdam on the STEX, so no need to do that one.

I actually began a little work on a Washington, D.C. map that I really want to make. It's going to be a 40x35 (Very large) region and should be very accurate and close to exact scale. Luckily enough it was requested, so if it's ready by Saturday (It should be by then I would guess), then I'll be able to upload it then. 10.gif

Well are you going to make my map or not?, not trying to sound rude here lol. The reason why I want another NYC map is because the one that was previously made is too small and not to scale with the game. Mine should be bigger. I would appreciate it if you treated it just as if it was another map to do, not putting it last becuase it's already been done, because it hasn't. Thanks.

simonlp, we're pretty backed up as of now. Maybe we can get to your request later, but there's too much to do now.

I don't know who requested Washington, D.C., but as I have said before I'm working on it and it should be released on Saturday (Map request day). It will be a large (Probably 40x35) region and very close to exact scale, and will go a good distance outside the beltway and cover most of the suburban areas. It's pretty much centered on Washington, but of course it includes much of Virginia and Maryland as well. This is a very ambitious map, and I know there's been demand for a new DC map lately so this will be a major release. 10.gif

Simonlp and vidioman: Although we're really backed up with requests right now, we should get around to those maps eventually.

Well, Washington, DC didn't work. The DEM data is incomplete or something for that area, and the map was extremely tough to make. I'm taking up another request: Fort Myers, Florida. This one's going to be good. It will be released on Saturday. 10.gif

No problem. I'll include in the map Fort Myers, For Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Pine Island, Cape Coral and part of Bonita Springs as well. Considering it's flat with a bunch of islands, it is a fun map to make.

Fort Myers, FL is done and on the STEX! It is a 30x21 kilometer region, and very accurate. I hope you like it, and have fun with it. 10.gif
