It was certainly worth the click and the download.

Certainly, this CJ could go on for months more, judging by all the city tiles that appear untouched.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the airport.

I agree. Best click I made all day too. It's so realistic. The farms are perfect. How do you make them that way?

Sorry to have missed so much these last weeks TPP!

Wow lot's of work in the last updates.

Along with Special Eddie's Oasis, your CJ is probably the brightest in ST! I simply like that harsh sun quality in your pics.

Pic 30.8 is a perfect example of your quality work, it looks deceptively simple, BUT look at the water transparency!.... beauty in simplicity!

Another good example, pic 30.1 those two overpasses.... brilliant the way they are connected by that small knoll!

I sure hope I'll more free time in the following weeks so I won't miss as much as I did lately.

See you soon!

Take care

That is a hilariously huge region! Now that's a labor or love. I assume all those palm are mayor plopped--that must've taken forever. ANd the farms on the hillsides--true tropicality! And hmm...do I see a downtown in there?

Your region pic is very well done. The layout ofd the cityscape next to the farming areas look so realistic. What resolutiion did you use for the mosaic? How many pics if you don't mind me asking?

    dedgren - Thanks haha!

    Leech10 - Thanks

    gurrgkud - Thank you

salut221 - Thanks glad you liked it

szarkoz - Thanks. The original intent was to make the actual region shot look as good as I could, but as I worked more and more on the cities I started doing more detailed work, mostly evident in Rochester.

    existential member - Thanks

bat - Thanks. I tried looking for a link but can't find one yet. I'm using a bunch of different tree packs to get the desired look. I might have got them in one of Jeronij's packs of ploppables, but I can't remember as it was a long time ago.

    collgab - Thanks

    jacqulina - Thanks

pickled_pig - The size of the region is staggering. I'll throw up a scaled down shot soon showing just how much I haven't even got to yet.

simster6 - Just a matter of zoning a bunch of agriculture and the dezoning around the edges to give it a more curved look. Then by adding in trees around them you cover the squares and make it look smooth.

Darmok - Ah yes, RL is getting to me too lol. With 30.8 I did a little more to it. I added a reflection of clouds over the water to give it a more colourful look, then used two different filters on the water to give it a distorted look below the surface, but then another to give the ripple affect on the reflection.

SpecialEddie - Every one of those trees is hand plopped in mayor mode. I haven't touched this region with a god mode brush yet. I'd called that a labour lol. Yeah there's a downtown on Montacello. I'm not overly pleased with it yet though, as I think its too expansive for the size of the city.

sorchin - 1280x1024, though I always shrink them by 50%, and the mosaics in the last picture weren't many, 3 pics at the most. I normally keep my mosaic sizes realitively small compared to some humongous ones. I think the biggest one I did so far was of an industrial area in Montacello which was 12 or so pics.

    Gaston - Thanks

crazychickensc12 - Dun dun dun! Thanks for the comment and welcome to the Tropics!

Just doing a quick preview sort of thing tonight. I'm *almost* finished the huge map I've been promising. I was going to show the airport in Montacello tonight, but I didn't have time to finish some of the surrounding area of it, so instead I took a bit of a detour and decided to show some nature shots. Here's one of the small and numerous islands around Haalu.

Hoping to get the map out either tomorrow or Thursday. Thanks for stopping by and your comments!

Well, after a lot of work, my first custom map ever is finally finished! The map of Haalu is done in a googleMap style. All the colours and font styles are just like googlemap, specifically Canada and the U.S.

The map covers a total of 49 large tiles, and shows pretty much everywhere I've worked on in the region so far. Future plans include building on Emerald Island, and continuing west across the mainland.

As for the map itself, I'm thinking about numbering the major roads or not. It could get a little crowded in places like montacello though 2.gif , so I'm still experimenting with that idea.

I hope you enjoy this map as much as I enjoyed making it!

As always, click the map for the full 1800x1800 picture. It's a little over 1mb.

Thanks for the comments everyone! They're very appreciated.

Is it a real map? *Touches screen and feels paper*

    Hmm...

Excellent, realistic map! It really helps us establish ourselves with the overral location of things in Haalu! I can't wait to see more of Montacello! It looks promising! I can't believe how many times I've commented this CJ--it's gone really far since those first few water reflection pics. I thought that was amazing--was I in for a ride!
