Hello.

Last one I played I belive was SIM TOWER and SIM CITY in the windows 98 times

I'd like to try out SIM CITY again, that is if someone can tell me what needs to be done to build european type buildings.  I assume this is some sort of mod. 

Are there any guides or FAQS that I could read to help me get started?

I'm sure the infrastructure is way more complex, I've been reading some of the forums and I see bus stops, all kids of different public transit systems, one way streets, I don't know what else is out there.

If you buy either SimCity 4 Deluxe or SimCity 4 + Rush Hour, there is an option to build only the Euro tileset. You can also download lots of Euro-themed buildings from the STEX here at Simtropolis.

Also, make sure to get all of the updates from the official site. Try the NAM as well!!!

I got the game and find it difficult to play, all my streets are not lined up with each other, I think from now on what I'll do is first make the streets layout grid and then make the housing. I quickly ran out of money and took two loans and then let her rip and was overthrown as I reached over 100K debt. Too late I realized I can take the car missions for some bucks,

What are the procedures of importing things from STexchange? And is there a way to start out a map that has trees all around, so that I don't have to spend money planting trees? Also I tried to make a sea port but the shoreline was not suited for that, what do Ineed to do? I'll start out with a new town today and I think I'll look for a $$ cheat to help me the first time. Whenever I rose taxes to 9 or 9.5 % everyone was leaving the town dont know why.

I was generating 6.6k in revenue yet my expenses were 15k

if you want, heres some cheats: first press CTRL + X and a console box should come up

start typing away!

-weaknesspays 1000 simoleons into your account (TIP: type weaknesspays in. select it all. press CTRL + C to copy it then hold CTRL and press V to paste then press enter while holding CTRL to enter the cheat while keeping the console open. Keep repeating. This might get really boring lol.

-you don't deserve it(spaces included) Give you all rewards

-fighthepower city can run without power

When your in mayor mode and need god mode, hold down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT and then click the god mode button (sun) and you can start terraforming once again.

-howdryiam City can run without water

Cheats are just here to help you out so you can learn things in simcity. I used them when i first started. Now im used to it so i don't need them anymore

Also look through tutorials in the forum. They are really helpful

Try the tutorials in the game, too. These provide a good overview of the game features.

Plant during god mode before you start the city.

Use the SHIFT key when zoning. This will stop SC4 from auto-streeting. (is that a word?)

If you want to earn money REALLY fast I would suggest the Super Cash Park on the STEX (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=343)

This will give you 4 billion Simoleans a month! I use it a lot, but I tend to just start a blank city, plop the park, run the game for one month, pause and bulldoze the lot. 4 billion should be enough for anyone! lol

I got a similar one called money tree, and I do the same.

plop it, run a month and then I pull it down.

anyway, this thing really fix up your money issues.

and as for the streets, I build all the roads and streets and stuff first.

makes the development way easier and more real cause, appart from big cites, especially nyc, I can't remeber any city having such a grid-based layout...

and, to tell a little from may sc4-past: there's nothing harder than getting in touch with this game... took me years...

There are some good tutorials on how to successfully make a city in the Omnibus section of this website. Check it out. Also, a few very very important points. Do not build services too early, ie: before your city can support them (like hospitals, schools, police, etc...). Just because your advisors suggest you do it doesn't mean you should... usually you shouldn't listen to them or they will ruin your city by driving the budget deep into the red by urging you to build everything as soon as possible instead of when your city can support it. Also, don't build power plants besdies coal at the beginning. Nothing else is worth it. NOTHING. Later you can build solar, or Hydrogen, but nothing else. They are rip offs. Just remember to place them far away from your city. Also, don;t forget garbage, if it builds up on your streets, your city will abandon. So read some omnibus articles and try some different methods/theories out.

i made a whole region with europeon style buildings its in the simcity deluxe i never bought rush hour as its included
