To All: Another update on Tropical Boulevard should come soon. Then after the waterfront is complete, we will work on north of Covina and add some midsized - low density neighborhoods. Stay tuned! 44.gif

    49.gif Update 23

    Paradise Beach Resort and Casino

Railrod- Welcome back! Glad you like the updates!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today we will venture out onto Tropical Boulevard again to check out the newest hotels raised up on the waterfront. The newest resort is the Paradise Beach Hotel and Casino.

Paradise Beach is an 1,100 foot - long beach, centrally located off Tropical Boulevard. Hotel chains including the Hilton, Double-tree, Radisson, and Days Inn have been in battle over the perfect lot with the perfect beachfront. But an intelligent man known as Howard J. Longo claimed the land and started construction on his masterpiece luxury resort before any other hotel chain could rebel. After years of construction, two buildings in the resort have been completed, and Howard Longo keeps getting richer and richer! Now included on the resort grounds is a 9 hole golf course, 2 outdoor pools, and a lovely beach!

Awesome, I've been thinking of building a city with a beachfront hotel skyline, and this has inspired me even more to do so.

Looks awesome: A suggestion for the future. Beach resort towns like these (Or at least Florida ones) do have big posh hotels and condos sitting right on the beach, so good job there. They don't, however, have roads in front of them. A road by the beach makes it a public area, so most condos buy property right on the beach so that that strip of beach has limited access to everyone but their guests.

Also, just to let you know, behind these big, expensive hotels are usually 1 or 2 story, low wealth, run down surf shops, bars, and resturaunts. Trailer parks are also a common sight.

    Thanks mayortim and fairlane.

Mayortim - I only made those roads there because if I don't, there would be no access to the hotel! Also, many of these hotels are residential like the Palm Plaza and Lake Point by O'neil.

I mean these pictures....  sorry  These show the entire complex which is outstanding.  In the top picture,  The Palm Plaza almost looks like its reflecting the sand from the beach!!!!  I liked it!

Thanks for all your comments! Now for some responses...

DragonAnime - Thanks for commenting. Glad you like it so far!

railrod7 - I'm glad you like those pictures. I think the beach looks really good.

kingofsimcity - Nice to see you back here. And it happens with me too, sometimes you don't get to all the city journals on your list to check every update. So sorry if  I haven't replied often in Goldenrod Plains!

jacqulina - Thanks for your comment!

aasim45 - Thanks for visiting again. Glad you like the pictures.

ephorex_77 - LOL. I'm not sure if you need to, I think I get the point 18.gif

Phoenixjp - Yeah, Covina is definitely my most populated city I have ever built, with 450,000 citizens. I am really surprised my computer specs could handle that.

Compromise - Wow! One of the best updates on Simtropolis? That's cool! Again, your CJES is really constructive and a nice way to critique journals. And I will work on keeping it realistic.

dhoppeii - Thanks for commenting here! I'm glad you like the golf course! Hope to see you here soon!

To All: I am working tonight on some of Tropical Boulevard, and have an update ready for you tomorrow.

Thanks again for your comments! 4.gif

Well I am posting more often now.2.gif

The beach front looks very nice. How about adding some of Simgoober most wonderful Swimming pools. They are so realistic in my option. How about parking for all the tourist people? 3.gif anyways.. Looks very nice. I would like to see close ups on the beaches. Right now I need good tips at beaches3.gif.

    Great work!

    Thanks for your extra comments!

Ephorex - Well if you want a downtown shot, you're in luck! Just north of downtown Covina is all urban too, and you'll be seeing that in the next update.

Mexicanboy13r - I wasn't aware that Simgoober has a set of swimming pools? I would like to use something more realistic than overlay textures as pools! I will definitely look up swimming pools and see what comes up. Also, parking would be another great option, I was going to set up a parking lot near many of the Tropical Boulevard monorail stations. You will see!

To All: Update should be sometime today. Possibly even two; one of North Covina and the other on Tropical Boulevard.
