  1. Avalon City Journal

Ty for the comment, it would be nice if all the canals made followed a similar water pattern if I come across a solution to this I'll fix it in time for the next appearance of Avalon Water and Power
  2. Avalon City Journal

Ok sorry its been a while, but this is my first time growing a city without shortcuts and cheats lol, so its taking some time, but here is Camelot growing away happily. http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/1286/camelot11oc.jpg The East bank that you can see is mainly the Greenfield district named after an early settlement built around the castle you see there. It will hopefully be a medium to high wealth district, leading down to The Shades (yup Terry Pratchett rip off lol) which will be industrial / low wealth projects. On the west bank I hope to grow a commercial and government centre covering several districts including a palace, government buildings, corporate HQs etc. Lets hope it all goes to plan lol.

I just noticed going through the CJs that there is another Avalon lol, and it looks really good, must be a popular name hehe. Ive also just finished Greenfield in the main city of Camelot so be expecting some piccy's soon
  4. Avalon City Journal

Ty for the reply. Im working on the Main city of Camelot at this moment, the waterpumps are mainly fillers, but also have an advantage in that this one site will be pumping water across the whole region and providing backup power and water to the cities that have thier own. Hence all the substations and water pumps lol. No residential on this map as its all government land, but stay tuned Camelot is coming
  5. Avalon City Journal

Well I started a CJ called Avalon a long time ago, but I found myself too busy and then I got a new system, so here is the new much improved Avalon CJ. I have pretty much every plugin I download sitting ready for use in my plugin's folder so its pretty hard for me to name all the lot and mod makers so if you see your work in my pics feel free to credit yourself. I can say I used the 'Gated Community' lots as a base for the security fences in the picture. Ty whoever made those Im starting with Avalon Water and Power PLC, so that all the cities on the island of Avalon can get it from somewhere lol. But first a question: Does this transition from the 'BSC Brick Canal' to 'Oppies Canal Set' look ok, or should I rethink it? http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/5039/avalonwp16mm.jpg Here is a better picture of Avalon W&P, the site pretty much has a map to itself right now and will provide most of the island with the energy and water it requires in which case the site may expand or upgrade as new technology becomes available. http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/8344/avalonwp21hh.jpg Well I hope to be bringing pleanty of updates as I start to grow the main city, which is where Oppie's canal in the picture leads. I look forward to comments thus far
  6. New Avalon CJ

Sorry its been such a long time. I just moved and finally got on the net again, but with 56k Its just finding the time to pick up where I left off hehe. Thanks btw to RP2005 for the arcade. Im sure I'll put it to use
  7. Euphora: A Mikeaut1 City Journal

  8. New Avalon CJ

Well, the suprise never came, it was going to be a large pier, but the project was beyond my expertise. However Newport Bank (across the river from Seaview) is coming along niely here is a shot of the Port area at night, so far thier nightlights out-do the beach lol.

Hi all I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but its the only place that will allow a file this size lol. Basically I started work on a pier as my first project, but I hit alot of problems along the way so I have uploaded what I have done here and hope that maybe an expert can make something nice from it. I'll just stick to inland lots lol. I used Marrast's pier poles as the legs and the domes you can see are Mary's, basically I just made the pier base. The Zip includes the 2 lot files at different stages, the sc4.model of the pier, with sc4desc, the Gmax model and a the Pier texture, have fun
  11. BAT Help - Modelling Issues

Hi there, does anyone know how to make long Piers on BAT that dont sink to the water when you place them. Ive been trying all evening and now I give up lol.
  12. New Avalon CJ

Sorry there has been no updates yet, I am just getting to grips with BAT *arrrrrgggg* then I will have a suprise in store, I hope, lol.

Well after modifying Marrasts Embankments slightly, the sea-front development is finally underway. I may even post the modified embankment set I am using, if Marrast doesn't mind. Well heres a pic of whats happening so far. All detailed parts of the sea wall are on 1x1 tiles, so that they can be spread the sea wall to give it some life
  14. New Avalon CJ

Thanks if Marrast doesn't mind, I may change the walkway textures and make one without lamps so I can space them a bit. I think the hardest part in making a city has to be when it comes to water, because grass only starts forming at cliff level so if you want lowland its got to be desert. If anyone knows a patch for this I would be happy to hear of it.

Seaview & Newport under construction On the south-west bank of the Stirling River (named after the first medieval port built here) lies Seaview, where people from all over the city can relax on the beach, or loose all thier earnings in the arcades. Across the river from Seaview is Newport, the actual site of Port Sterling, now an industrial district and shipping port and home to the last operational steam ship builders 'Hargrieves & Wolf'. A picture of the Golden Mile which runs the length of the sea-front. This will be lined with amusement arcades, hotels and bars.
