    49.gif UPDATE 9

    Bosley/Suburban Baseball League

    Woah, its been a while. *Blows dust off thread*

    Over the past week, the metro area has grown tremendously. The suburbs are now being stretched east of downtown Euphora on the peninsula. This update will focus on this area:

    <ahttp://img36.echo.cx/img36/4919/euphora11142107074mw.jpg align=baseline>

    The highlighted area in red is the town called Bosley. It is situated on the Rowell Sea and is a 15 minute drive to Euphora.

    Bosley Information

    ~ Population - approx. 10,000 currently
    ~ Location - 15 minutes east of downtown Euphora, south shore of Euphoric Peninsula.

    <ahttp://img36.echo.cx/img36/2185/bosleymay31211142106452gi.jpg align=baseline>

    Bosley High Schools Outlook

    <ahttp://img36.echo.cx/img36/7050/bosleyapr51211142103706ay.jpg align=baseline>

    Bosley is a fastly growing town of 10,000 Sims. It has 2 high schools. It is still growing, and is expected to rise over 15,000 by the end of the year.

    Above Picture: The Bosley Resource Recovery Facility. Greenhouses and high tech industrial buildings help to restore energy for the town.

    THE SUBURBAN BASEBALL LEAGUE

    Euphora's number 1 pastime is basball. Sims here live for the sport. Due to the overwhelming amount of kids who love baseball in the metro area, the state government has set up a county baseball league consisting of the Euphoric Peninsula's greatest players 14-18 years of age. However, this league is only available to students who live east of Halliway, Ellisville, and Robinson. This league is for suburban kids only! Each town east of the border line participates in creating a team for the best kids in the town. The government has built large baseball fields with the town team hall in Bosley and in other suburban towns. Take a look!

    <ahttp://img36.echo.cx/img36/4868/bosleyapr281211142105214xu.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is Bosley's field for the SBL. The complex has four fields, and the team house where awards ceremonies and special SBL meetings are held.

    That was the update!! From now until Sunday of next week, there will be a lot of updating since I'm on break!

    First of all, let me apologise for not commenting on this journal sooner. It's typical work from you Mikeaut1, excellent downtown areas and a realistic transport system. I love the winding suburbs too!

    Keep up the great work!

    49.gif UPDATE 10

    Peninsula Plans For Spread Development

    Sorry for lying about the update being Saturday. But I was at my grandmas house so I never got to the update. A main update will be tonight (for sure) but this is just a little update to wake up the thread a little.

    <ahttp://img201.echo.cx/img201/2766/newsletter0oy.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is the current look at Euphora from above.

    <ahttp://img201.echo.cx/img201/9616/euphora11145478631uf.jpg align=baseline>

    And here is the layout for planning in the eastern county of the peninsula.

    See more tonight as Westbury (County Seat) is created along with some nice canals and the beautiful Grand Lakeland Resort!

    Arrr...I follow too many CJs! This one is always somehow pre-empted for another CJ, I'll have to stop that!

    Your suburbs are some of the best I have ever seen. Keep up the good work, and I'll be sure to comment on the development in Westbury!

    Great City, looks like something I always try to create but then just end up doing to much and creating chaos, though I did make one good region that was complete chaos.44.gif

    49.gif UPDATE 11

    Westbury

    Thanks for the comments everyone! Lufia: Welcome to Simtropolis!

    Here is the unfinished Westbury, the county seat for Euphora County.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/9700/westburyapr241011145695926rg.jpg align=baseline>

    Westbury is an urban side to the peninsula. It sits right on the manmade Westbury Canal, which spans the whole width of the peninsula. It took several years to create. The city of Westbury is rolling in wealth and prosperity. With a large university and well funded educational and health systems, Westbury is rapidly growing along the canal.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/6902/westburyapr261011145696383sr.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is a glimpse of downtown Westbury. It sits right at the edge of the canal and often gets congested during midday. The tallest building is Westward 1 Tower (the blue glassed building).

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/6306/westburymay21011145697314bd.jpg align=baseline>

    Government Park (above): A group of government buildings located on West Canal Street in downtown. It is home to many of Euphora County's buildings like the Supreme Court of Euphora and County Hall.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/5787/westburymay51011145697522vm.jpg align=baseline>

    Westbury University (above): Westbury University is located directly across the street from Government Park on West Canal Street. Its canalside campus attracts many scholars to come and get an education here. It is located within the downtown vicinity.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/4126/westburymay101011145698285ds.jpg align=baseline>

    A closeup of Westbury Avenue.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/7905/westburymay141011145700225do.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/3740/westburymay161011145700424zh.jpg align=baseline>

    Victory Park (above): Victory Park was created to revitalize the slum area of Westbury right next to the town landfill. With its elaborate monument of Sir Charles Wesley on the embankment, the scene is breathtaking at night. As you can see, one of the one-way residential roads tunnels under the embankment of Sir Charles. So many people have tried to make it up the steep embankment, but have failed, walking away with a broken arm or ankle.

    <ahttp://img251.echo.cx/img251/2697/westburymay181011145701099hx.jpg align=baseline>

    As you can see in Westbury's suburban neighborhoods, the city is rolling in riches!

    The suburbs are magnificent ! And the government  park makes a real nice transition between the commercial hi - rise and the medium density residential to the right.

    I like the canal with embankments.... It looks very nice and clean. I've seen those embankments used above ground like you've done in Victory Park. However, i've never figured out why.... but you had a reason and it seems logical to me so good work

    Thank you everyone for your comments! They are appreciated and they keep this city journal going day after day!

    Dr N. -- I'm glad you like my suburbs! I've been learning from experts like Chicago333 and MayorTim for months to make decent suburbs.

    Jacqulina - Thanks for always commenting in my city journal!!

    Railrod - With the embankments... I've seen jeronij and MayorTim use the embankment set by Marrast outside of water. I thought at first that it was unrealistic. But I kinda followed through on it and included it in Victory Park. Although its not on water, it looks fine on land too. Anywhere there are equal heights on hills.

    Jetty Jockey - Thanks for the compliment with the suburbs and Government Park!

    More will come today!!!

    I don't lnow if I've said this before previously but I really, really love your suburb layout. 36.gif It's so neat and organised with ample green spaces, parks and trees, but at the same time, there's a certain randomness and spontaneity about your layout (which is sadly lacking in mine 3.gif) that makes it so beautiful.

    Btw, can you tell me how you seem to have trees growing everywhere?? That green look if what I'm after in my cities. TIA. 17.gif

    Wow Mike, great work with these suburban communities! I love the idea of having the SBL, and Westbury and Newport Hills are works of art. You are truly excellent at suburban building in SC4, keep up the great work.
