You know by now that I like small towns, this one's no exception.

One thing, (amongst other..) puzzle me, and  I quote ...

Most people consider it to be a suburb of Port Sinclair, which always puts a frown on Mayor Ann Boleyn's face.

Season 2: Episode 13

In Wexlin, Andrew Bridge is checking his travel plans one last time. The accident and sudden 'transfer' of Jane Doe to Sinclair General Hospital makes him suspicious enough to feel paranoid. And his paranoia makes him want to check his plan yet again.

Any sane individual would expect him to drive in a Wexlin police car, so Detective Bridge is going to leave town by ferry from Wexport.

 

The ferryport at Port Sinclair is a busy interchange for bus, train, and monorail. Hopefully he can lose anyone tailing him in the crowd.

 

Most people would take the train or bus from the ferryport, but Andrew is going to walk up Ferry Street to catch the monorail's City Line.

Relying on his previous knowledge of the monorail system he can change at either of the two downtown stations onto a Central Line train. He has decided to choose Lighthouse Station, another busy interchange.

 

There are two stations close to the hospital, Uptown and Central Avenue. The walk from Uptown is a lot nicer and much safer, so Andrew plans on getting off at Central Avenue and walking through the slums.

 

What Andrew doesn't know is that the extension of the City Line is being put into service today, and his arrival at Ferry Street station is going to coincide with the mayor of Port Sinclair's opening ceremony...

 

Andrew also doesn't know that the Port Sin Comic Underground has distributed protest leaflets about the monorail...

I really appreciate your comment as I have been striving to get the region to look like that, and sometimes it isn't easy when all you have is vanilla SC4. One key is to take things slowly, although now that the region pop is over 100k the simcitizens of Ellis Valley are starting to be demanding

Season 2: Episode 14

Today we are stopping by Nereid, which is yet another quiet country town in Ellis Valley.

By now you know the drill...there's a small town center surrounded by low density housing...

...a belt of farmland...

...and since this town is on the coast, the usual ferry port.

There's also a rail station with local service to Port Sinclair and the towns to the south.

The mayor of Nereid, Simone Cowelle lives here, with her husband Chuck.

Simone loves Chuck, who works here.

Simone loves her little town only slightly more than she loves Chuck. And of all the parts of her town she loves the streets best. Some would say it is verging on an obsession.

In fact, Simone is having a bit of a meltdown about her streets. She has just received a report that they are becoming endangered!!

Unfortunately traffic has been picking up in town, so some of the streets now need to be upgraded, including her favorite street of all.

Simone is on the phone talking to her husband about how to deal with the problem. She thinks that, since most of the traffic is commuters heading to Port Sinclair for work, that an extension of the monorail to Nereid could be the solution.

Chuck tells her that he'll look into it.

As soon as he puts the phone down Chuck enters the data into his system. When he sees the projected outcome, Chuck wonders how he'll break the news to Simone that the Calamity Report doesn't look good...

Season 2: Episode 15

Jean Reichle, the mayor of Wexlin, is shopping in Port Sinclair.

She is thoroughly engrossed in her favorite pursuit when a gentleman dressed in a black suit gently, but firmly, takes her by the elbow. "You had better come with me, Ms Reichle."
"What on earth for? And how do you know who I am?" asks a startled Jean.
The security officer reaches into Jean's bag and says, "Well, I just saw you slip this scarf into your hand bag..."
"I have no idea how that got there!" exclaims Jean.
"Perhaps, given the delicacy of the matter, we should discuss this in the manager's office?"
"By all means, I'd love to speak with the manager," says a bristling Jean.

As they enter the manager's office, Jean is shocked to see the mayor of Port Sinclair sitting behind the desk.
"Well, Jean, I see that old habits die hard."
"You know that I didn't steal that scarf," says Jean indignantly.
"Oh, but my top security man says you did," replies the mayor coldly. "Now you have two options: either come with me, or be escorted to the police station."

Jean realizes she has no choice but to go with the mayor...

...who takes her to Sinclair General Hospital.

"What are we doing here?" asks Jean.
"We are here to see a very sick friend," says the mayor mysteriously.
"A sick friend? I didn't think you had any friends..."
"Ah, not one of my friends. And if you'd been taking care of Wexlin instead of shopping on the strip you would know that she had been in a very nasty accident."

As they enter the maximum security wing of the hospital, Jean has a feeling of dread.

The mayor of Port Sinclair opens the door to one of the private rooms. Despite her bruised and battered face, Jean recognizes the patient immediately.

Her voice suddenly quiet and toneless, Jean turns to the mayor and asks, "What is it that you want?"
