Thanks everyone for your continued support, it's very appreciated.

For several reasons all Big Dig project activities are suspended at this time.  The reasons are mainly due to:

    1. Increase in RLS tasks and obligations with work in August-September

    2. Increasing pressure to complete the year-long delayed airport project in CJ department.

    3. Cooperating with a couple airport-pack creators in the next few weeks to assist in some modelling work.

    4. The tragic accident occured in July 11th inside the I-90 Connector tunnel in real-life was very unfortunate in both real-life and here in Simtropolis.  Growing cynicism toward this project quote in quote "capitalizing over someone's death" makes me wonder why people wanted to see big dig in the first place since 2003 when ST first opened.  I only wish the real-life accident didn't occur two weeks before this project's much anticipated release.  But after all, I believe it is insensitive to continue with this project without any regret while someone's family is mourning loss of their loved one.

As soon as my RLS work obligations are back to normal (currently I have 3 work projects going on at the same time, so my time available for modelling and hobbies is lower than before) and airport projects are mostly out of the way, Big Dig will resume.  But for now, my priorities are temporarily realigned for the next few weeks.  I will post updates as I have them.  Thanks!

    blahdy-

I just about passed out when I read your last post. I read it again...and it didn't change. What's up? Can anyone help out?

RL can be a real bummer, in so many ways. The "tragic accident" in the full-size Big Dig just shows one more aspect of how that's true. The Challenger and Columbia disasters, though, didn't cause us to lose heart in the exploration of space.

As for "cynicism toward this project," there isn't any I've seen that's meant poop. Your work (along with that of those who've assisted you to date) is a towering ST achievement, I'd say right up there in significance close to the NAM.

    Again, if anyone can help...

    David

Thank you dedgren and buddybud 2.gif  Both of you guys have done great jobs in respective projects, and buddybud, I can't congratulate you enough with the tunnel systems you are incorporating into your under bridge and sunken HW system scenery, it's just realistic and really one of the things that can work together with the big dig lots to improve everyone's cities.

My time has been becoming little bit tight lately, and I need to do some tidying up work with the airport stuff as that stuff had been suffering from delay after delays over its projected completion date.  So with that said, Big Dig stuff will resume once RLS and airport stuff are out of the way.

As for cynicism toward the project, I agree with you dedgren, it's inappropriate to give up on this project based on that issue.  But just as NASA did after the incident, this project is suspended until the dust settles.   And this drama coinciding with reduced hobby time lately is just not working out, I don't think I need to waste more energy on little things like hobby when there are more important things that require my immediate attention.

Thanks for your continued support and as soon as time becomes available to resume the operation of this project, you will be notified :-).

I could not agree more with dedgren myself!  This is deffintaly right up there with the NAM, i hope it won't be too long before the Bridge comes out...  Also if you need anyone to talk too, you know where to find me.

also, my thoughts and prayers go to the family that suffered the loss of that poor woman in the real Big Dig.

Goodluck with the personal stuff and hopefully you will ignore these folks about the project because most of them don't  really live in the real world.

It was  really a shame this woman got killed but most Government contracts are done by morons plus when it's your time to go well you got no choice.

Good luck with real life! That's always more important than just a little game like this!
