Great teaser pictures ... I look forward to seeing some of the finished ones...

As for the news on the last page .. I hope the storms start to cease, it would be a pitty if anyone was to loose their lives in these bad weather conditions. Also nice touch in adding the real life conflict of the Israel conflict...such a horrible story about that 18 yo boy.

I hope that your aircraft carrier isn't placed in harms way, as the SCJU does generally frown upon war, although with all the changes I've heard of about the place, I wouldn't be too surprised if they supported war now.

I look forward to more news stories now ... If I had time I'd bring my own newspaper back, but unfortunately I don't have the time...

Good luck with your Ambassadorship and your CJ.

Thanks to all who commented. I have a modest update for you today. My first in awhile. I couldn't edit the photos this time because I'm not that good with photoshop and have to get better.

Today is the same canal area as last time except with 3 1/2 more hours of work added to it.

Your Image

The Aleen Rashk Memorial is the Largest memorial dedicated to just one person in Ankara. The person Aleen Rashk, was the leader of the revaloution againist the communist party. His body has been in the tomb since his death in 1971. The tomb was completed in 1973.

Your Image

This is a shot of the Controversial Ankara Financial Center ( the large glass building ). When the world famous Havlle Architects were asked for something different for the new replacement of the small and old Ankara Financial Center ( Small building to the right ) this is what they came up with. Highly controversial because some felt it would interupt the feeling of the Downtown. It stands tall today and most people think it added alot to the downtown area. Behind it is the post office. And farther to the right the Opera House.

Your Image

The Crashk Mall built on the corner of an intersection is the largest mall in the capital Ankara. The mall also spans 7 belowground levels. Opposit across the intersection is the Ankara Republican Hotel. A 5 star hotel located right in the downtown.

Your Image

In this picture you can see in the bottom-left corner the Court of Justice. Built in 1927 it is one of the older buildings in Ankara.

Your Image

In this last picture we see the extension of the Crashk Mall. Built after the Ankara Republican Hotel, it had to be divided into 2 sections connected by an underground path. Located right along the canal, the rooftop Fiart Resturant is ranked 2nd in the city.

Thats all for today. Thanks for your comments. For all thinking this is the area with skyscrapers thats uptown or the Financial District.

Hi yoman, nice looking city you have there. All the old historic buildings fit in nicely with the canals and parks/plazas. I also like your use of the glr between the roads, and the amount of custom stuff that you have. Keep up the great work/play.

P.S. I'lll finish the bridge as quick as possible...

Hi Yoman,

Sometimes I just HAVE to take the time needed to say what I want to say!

Even when I don't have the time.... (Am I making any sense????...no! I thought so...)

18.gif

Seriously, first of all I must say I just liked those constructions pics. And that road and GLR bridge is simply beautiful, 36.gif and the idea of putting a tunnel just alongside is spectacular! What a nice detail!

We can see more of it in the first pic of your last update, but how you made it still puzzles me! It looks like a marrast underpass to begin a tunnel entrance and where does it exit? Is it functionnal?

We need answers.... 2.gif

I like the open spaces, big plazas and such! Very civilized city!

This was a very good update, liked it a lot!

More please! 19.gif

Take care

ME REPLYING TO YOU

Stuff you want

Underpasses / tunnels

Jeronij Pedestrain Bridges

jacqulina - Thanks the only reason while it was so close was because there was nothing else finished around it....lol

Bookworm - I grew all of them in my old city but I didn't like it so I'm going to have a mix now.

Buddubud - Thanks. I liked the underpasses ALOT too.

Fox - Well you have finished ones below. As for the newspaper yes, it is sad. The storms have stoped. As for the aircraft carrier umm... lets just say there will be an interesting twist soon. Ankara is a strong ally of Isreal so I thought it would be good. What do you mean "changes" at the SCJU? Thanks for the luck note.

Sloppet - well I gave you more great stuff. Thanks!

GaBoR - I guess you were right lol.

Mikeaut1 - Thanks glad you liked my selection of buildings. They have to fit just right.4.gif

Van1357 - Its ALL BAT's . The GLR is my trademark transport. And I hope you finish it soon its so great!

Hey yoman. The trick with flora is to use different kinds in the same area to get more of a realistic feel. In lush park areas I tend to "overdue" it to give it that..well lush feel. Your pictures arn't showing up in your last update. I'll check back latter my friend..
