Ground Light Rail (GLR) is included in the NAM and questions about GLR stations often come up at Simtropolis. This overview of GLR stations and other related stuff is intended to provide information about the items that are available for use with GLR.

The Network Addon Mod (NAM) can be downloaded from the STEX here ( or Mac).

When new items are released, this overview will be updated.

How to use the GLR:

There is a known bug in the game, that is causing the game to crash, when ever you hover a puzzle piece over a transit enable lot, like station. etc. A good way to avoid this is to lay out the track, making room for the stations. Then place the station last. To activate the paths within the station you need to drag EL-Tracks through the station. A good idea is to place a busstops or parking garages near the station to get the sims to use the them. For stations released prior to the addition of draggable GLR tracks (June 2007 NAM), a separate patch is required for proper functioning of the stations. The patch for most affected stations is available here.

There are two different versions. One with rails along the side the museum and another with rails in front of the museum.

There are a few more stations, but something that I do not think fit the lightrail/tram theme. Just do a search for GLR.

Excellent list but doesn't the Marrast Station require the original?.The last thing I knew was Marrast files were missing and only available on ST CD.

Yes BB you are absolutly right. It's an old list that I post original posted in one of the GLR-thread.

It's has never been released. It was a reskin made by buster himself of NOB's yellow Astrum Line.

Doh!!! Thanks anyway. I'll have to try to find it in my old plugins folder (I did save it, I just thought I'd take the opportunity to rebuild the folder). You don't, by any chance, know the name of the file? I think I put it in the NAM folder, but it would be easier just to do a search.

Edit:  I found it!!!  Right in my NAM folder like it should have been.  The file's name is "Z_connector.dat."  Is it possible that whoever created it would give me permission to reupload?  Or perhaps they would be willing to do that themselves?  Anyway, thanks for your help.

Hi, firstly let me say the GLR is fantastic. So thanx to all who worked on it. Now, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this but I'd like to request a GLR station. Nothing hard or time consuming, all I'm after is a couple of lots, maybe a 1x1 and a 1x3 that has a route post and some fence/barricades along the edge. Please see attached photo. I tried to make this myself but realised after testing that the el train spawning and route query etc must be kept in the building details and not the lot details. (i tried to use the Petrouch tram stop, deleted the building and put the props on the lot to get the look i wanted, but trams didn't go to it or spawn from it and when I route queried it showed everyone as walking to the next stop.) I woud do this myself but i really don't have the time to learn about transit enabling lots, modding buildings to spawn automata etc. due to work and family commitments. If anyone feels like doing this it would be much appreciated. Oh, I also use the GLR track mod (the one by ebina) so if the rail/base textures could match his that'd be nice Thanx Yeti.
