Hello, Sorry no update yet. Sunday i came home and i crashed right away and the same with monday i was very tired. Tuesday i had work 3-7 so yea. Im playing SC4 now and should have one up this week. I hope.

1. How is New Ridge going to react to the volcano

Stage 5:

Its been awhile, and at last one has come!

New Ridge is 35 years old, and the sims are happy, low crime, low pollution and Ridge now has little over 4,500 Sims and is still growing strong. (Also im going to open a storyline in this update.)
Here is Ridge now:

As you can see Ridge is getting fairly large. I had to put in another police station toward the middle.
Ridge has been free of industry....Until now. Some industry has started building by the overpass.

No one seems to mind, not even the Mayor minds... If its clean, Its good enough! Further note..Thats the only crime in the whole town. It seems like they dont like those shops....heh.

The mayor has given permisson for an El Train and ground rail to be built....However they ran out of money for this project and will be continued in about 15 years....
This is all they got done.....
 

Mayor: Whats that?
Visitor: What?
Mayor: Whats that truck doing up on the ridge, that isnt supposed to be open for another 10 years...
(Mayor calls his good friend Tim that is a police Chief at precinct 13. Tim picks up and the mayor tells about the random truck.)
Tim: Want me to send a unit up there and check it out?
(Before the mayor can say anything the truck is gone.)
Mayor: No just see the security checkpoints at the entrance..See if they got anything....


The truck is on top of the ridge....Why is this truck here? And what does it mean? Find out next time.

Stage 6:

Hello! Time for an update.

New Ridge is growing very quickly. So far, no major problems has arised...yet..

As you can see, New Ridge is about halfway filled up...Just shy of 7,000 Sims and still growing. Crime is low, pollution is low, commute isn't a hassle. New Ridge seems to be the place to be. And New Ridge is only 39 years old. Only 6 more years until the people who have permits to build on top of the Ridge are allowed to enter. In fact, some people started setting up shop at the entrance and exit of the park.

Mayor: (On the phone with Tim.) You find anything out about that truck?

Tim: Nope, it seems like it vanished... None of the security guards had seen anything...

Mayor: Strange...

Tim: Yea, tell me about it...

Mayor: Thats all. Call my home phone if you find something.

Tim: Will do..

-2 Hours later, Tim calls back with news on the truck.-

Mayor: Hello?

Tim: I found something.

Mayor: Really? What you got??

Tim: Erm...Well we did find the truck... Except its....well a little blown up..

Mayor: What?? What do you mean???

Tim: Ill take some photos and show them to you in the morning..

Mayor: Okay.....

(This is the picture of what they found.)

(When the Mayor seen the truck, he was in disbelief.)

Mayor: What the.....

Tim: Exactly.. I will have to get some investigators because this was no accident..

Mayor: What do you mean..No accident? Are you saying this was a bomb?

Tim: Im not saying its anything, I will have to wait until the investigators are done..

Mayor: Im not liking this at all...

Now back to New Ridge....Remember those random industrial buildings popping up? Well, they don't look like industry at all...

So the Mayor has allowed them to operate in New Ridge.

They don't look like industry at all do they? They just blend in with the other buildings.... Seems like they do belong here...heh.

With that layout this city is gonna be pretty big right? I just love the road up the cliff, but I don't want to ride my bicycle along those one-way roads.. the cliffs look kinda... steep.

I can't wait to see the full-grown city within the region! Keep up the great job!

Yoman3: Thanks, I too, like how the roads came out on the cliff edges.

JoeMeister:  Eventually New Ridge will grow, but that won't be for a very long time. I would like to keep it low density for awhile. Haha, Riding bikes up there isn't recomended...You might just end up in someones house if you fall!

Stage 7:

Due to industry moving into New Ridge, plans for a harbor are now on the table. However the Mayor wants to keep the layout of the city under wraps for the time being. Untill they know whats going on with the weird truck that was found in quite a few pieces... Blasting has commenced for the harbor.

One shot of the blasting. Due to the land being way above sea level. They have to blast a coastline so the ports can be easily built.

Another site of blasting. This will continue for awhile. Maybe for another 5 months.

And the harbor is named 'Coal Harbor'.

Meanwhile in NR. People continue to flock into NR.

The population is just above 9,000. More growth is expected in the future.

Still with that many people, crime isn't a problem nor is traffic. The only thing that was beginning to be a problem was water pollution, but it's no more.

Mayor:-To Himself- What am I going to do... I can't open the National Volcano Park to the public if there are terrorists going around...

-At that time Tim walks into the office.-

Tim: Hello, I have some news about that truck.

Mayor: And??

Tim: It was a bomb, it seems like a warning though well, that's what the investigators said...They found a remote detonator, well pieces of one. They found no bodies or a trace of any.

Mayor: What's going on!?

Tim: The report also said the plates were from Ashland..

Mayor: -Looks strangely at Tim- Ashland? You don't think that some of the gangs in Ashland are trying to set up camp here in New Ridge? Do you?

Tim: I don't know. There are no leads, no nothing. Thats all that we know..

Mayor: Ok, I want to to set up a checkpoint on the border with Ahsland. Just untill we know whats going on.

Tim: Will do.

Next Stage: 8: Construction in Coal Harbor begins. Yet more people move to New Ridge. National Volcano Park* to be opening shortly.

Stage 8...

With new growth in NR, Hotels and stores are starting to open up ontop of the ridge. Though the park will not be open for another 4 months and the super mall not to be opened for another 5. Still, shopkeepers and casino owners are settling and getting everything ready.

Due to the new growth, government buildings are being built in the middle of the city. These only include an Advanced Research Center and a City Hall for now.

Mayor's secretary: Mayor turn on channel 18!

-Without hesitation he turns on the T.V.

Mayor: !

-What the mayor sees is a live feed from a hospital, about 6 blocks from the City Hall.-

Mayor: Oh My.....Why are those firefighters not doing anything!

-5 minutes later another 3 engines arrive at the scene. After about an hour the fire was out. The damage was extensive..-

-The hospital was completely destroyed... Luckily, all the staff and patents were moved out safely due to the extensive training in fire protection they have had.-

Mayor: -To Fire Chief-  I want you to send someone out to inspect on how this started!            <End Story>

I always love fires! I'm liking how this story is currently a story of law and order up against terrible happenings. If the volcano-naming thing is still going, I say that it should be Mt. Pyro (like pyromaniac). Anyway, great job, and I'm looking forward to more!
