                                  ...yay

    @ Jacky: Thanks so much.

    @ zelgadis: Interesting and laggy.3.gif

@ cityhawk: Yes/no. The Ridge with the volcano will still be needed in the future. I thought since everyones leaving, why not just blow stuff up? lmao. Thanks too.

@ asturianu: Yes, it will be used again later in the CJ if it doesnt die.

@ Needgames: Heh. Thanks. Yeah, when I put a volcano in a city...99% of the time it will go boom at least  once. The story will continue though. It will be used later though. =D

@ RushHourFreak: Thanks! That's good to hear.

@ all: New picturers are almost ready. Update is ready but will wait till sunday.

    Thanks,

             Tommy.

Sucks you had to destroy that city, at least you have a clean slate.

I know how it is, sometimes you wanna start over with a new idea

                                                                            Stage 19....

As you all know, I started a new slab of land a few weeks ago. With little time to play and a little planning, I am creating a very different city for my playing genre. Like the Ridge before, with it's unique pattern of road. To this Ridge,  with it's islands and miles of curvey rails. As you will see in later updates.

    2qxcjs5.jpg

As Ridge started as a dead slab of dirt, one lone seed floated away from the reserve and landed here. Though it took ages...A forest was born. Along with this, farmers though to set up some farms in the more mountainous area. Though only  5 farms are here, more will be on the way as the small town of 190 expands.

    2eed5r6.jpg

Along with the new farms, other industry goers though that the bay would be a great place to set up. It is prime real estate for industry, with the sunken highway, railroads and shore...They have every way of getting their product to the shelfs....

    4c9up7a.jpg

As we see the first train to head out of Ridge...More are sure to follow..With the new railroad and more in the process of completion.... Hopefully, Ridge wil become a busy port city and resort!

    2ajp1sj.jpg

As we end this tour...With many to follow after this, I present to you...The Zelgadis Bay Bridge. This bridge is the main bridge that connects the small chain of islands where some more industry and all of the residents reside. Without this bridge, The islands will be completely cut off from the world.....

    CJreplies.jpg

                                ...WHOOPDIE!!?

@ hamsterTK: Yeah, I just had to start over. Ever since I cleaned my Simcity folders.... It was never the same. However, that part of Ridge is only lost, not forgotten. 1.gif

@ jacqulina(Jacky): Thank you. I hope you enjoyed this most current update.1.gif

@ All: Sorry for the delay on the updates. I'm so busy it's not even funny.... I got a girlfriend, job and school....Plus friends that continuously call me to chill.... So my playing time slot is very small at this point in time.... Please never think that I have forgotten about Ridge or SimTropolis. It's almost my 1-year celebration since I join SimTropolis. In that time I have made a lot of new friends that share some of my same likes. Thanks for all your ongoing support. Even for the lurkers of Ridge - Moving On, it is great to know i'm wanted here at SimTropolis....

                                                                                       Stage 20!!! yayy!

Tonight I will show you somepictures of the islands off the coast of Ridge. Not many though but I was overdue for an update. I am continually working on Ridge and finding new, interesting BATs for it too!

    483y34p.jpg

So far, all 498 people live on this island. It's quiet and small. The Boro. Of Ridge will put beaches in when they think it's time.

    30dar2b.jpg

Here is a great dusk shot of the Island, soon to be named.

    47bninp.jpg

Here is where the first industry settled about 30 years ago, most of the residents travel here to work at the sugar plant  that was here way before Ridge was established. In other words, its been here awhile! It even has it's own seaport, soon to be replaced die to the aging walls...

    4dogmit.jpg

Here they are putting in seawalls to deal with erosion....However, the Shoreline is so uneven..They have to import dirt and rocks to even it out a little before they can  resume. This project should take at least 5 years. That is, if everything does the way the planned.... When they are done, this is were the remaining industry will be. So far, only industry has developed on the Mainland. The Project manager and the Mayor doesn't want anything to happen to the sand and rocks while they manuver the winding road to the construction site.. Construction will eventually begin in about 7 years time.

                                                                                QUICK REPLIES!

                                                                                           Yayayaya!

@ sorchin:  Thanks. The farming area will start to spread out a little bit but not for 1-3 more years(updates).

@ zelgadis: I actually like it. I think it adds more color to a silvery bridge.3.gif

@ jacqulina: Thanks a lot Jacky. You will see a lot more trains rolling on the tracks and more farms in upcoming chapters! 1.gif

@ hamsterTK: Thanks. Construction on the many twisting streets have already begun!

@ asturianu:  Ridge won't die unless I do or interest dies out.1.gif This Ridge really won't be the same as the other one because i'm experimenting with road and rail layouts..And the volcano the destroyed Central Ridge won't be a part of East Ridge. However, ***Classified*******Classified***....In other non-CIA wording....You'll have to wait and see what I have planned!1.gif

    _

All: Sorry it took me awhile, I kinda lost interest in SimCity but i'm back and I will be playing East Ridge more after I get my essays out of the way. Stick around!

                                                                                   Stage 21!

I have been experimenting with street layouts. So far, no griddy layout is in sight. The problem is I keep having second thoughs, so the pictures in this update may be outdated.

Firstly i'll show you guys and girls parts of the newly developed residental area. Though nowhere near finished. So keep that in mind.

Here I have captured a train heading to  the Industrious bay area.

And here comes a train heading back with so many tired Sims.

    4iffg2f.jpg

And here is a teaser of the new Industrial area. More will be printed soon. =)

I hope you have enjoyed this little update, another one that has a bit more detail and backround information will be released later this week.

                                                ....-Insert Random Evil Saying Here.-

    @ Schulmanator: Sweet. I think.

@ Owenluby: Thanks, I have a new Rock mod installed. You will see it when development heads back towards the mountains.

I see that New Ridge is coming along very nicely! Nice pics, and don't worry about keeping us hanging for awhile because RL is RL and always will be, and that's what you have to tend to first. I look forward to more!

Nice pair of recent updates, T_V3.  It's always good to stop by Ridge and see what you're doing.

There's nothing inherently wrong with griddy, IMHO (except that maybe SC4 does everything it can to force us into that particular box).  It does get traffic moved around and is the most efficient way to lay out development that is both dense and compact.

    keep up the hard work!

I like the island a lot, with the buildings surounded by trees. Great industrial area with the wall along the shoreline. It's great you try some variation on the grid. Love those trains moving around hauling cargo and transporting passengers.

    NICE UPDATES!!

There are a lot of changes in Ridge, and now it is much realistic.

I really like this cj, and all things are real and colourful.

    Very good!!

I like the initial road setup...I don't know why everybody hates grids, yes if you make them boring, they are boring, but they are the most efficent layout....I'm against urban sprawl and loopy deadendy roads.

The way your city is set up reminds me of the way we played in SC2000.  Trying to make very efficent cities....I also like the disasters!
