GLADSTONE, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
This is the third of my maps, this one is of Gladstone, home to the biggest single stream alumina plant. The plant produces about one tenth of the world's aluminium.
Gladstone is at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. Port Curtis is one of Australia's largest ports, handeling 30,000,000 tonnes of cargo every year. It extensivly an industrial city with Australia's largest alluminium smelter at Boyne Island, Queensland's largest power station and Australia's largest cement operation.
The city, with a population of about 27500 is about 560 km north of Brisbane. It is poular with tourists with various attractions around.
