About This File

This is a stylised map of the USA taken from a satellite image. Neil Armstrong himself would have seen a similar image, and commented that planet earth was a beautiful place.

This is my tribute to the man who made history, but never forgot home, because even from thousands of miles away - he could still see it.

The eagle has landed - One small step for man, a giant leap for humanity.

Challenging eh ??? Thats the pioneering spirit of Neil Armstrong talking lol - the outer ring of course is the circumference of the earth - it IS barely playable (I think lol)

You are very observant Mr food - it IS taken from Google earth !! But the conversion to greyscale required considerable softening to make the map playable in SC4

lol hamp, I will agree with you up to a point. There are some excellent map makers already on the STEX - and there are some who are improving rapidly. The thing you must understand is that some of these "crap" maps are attempts by youngsters who are as young as 11 ..........

There are of course many arrogant people, of ALL ages contributing to the STEX. Each is entitled to have an opinion, and each is entitled to upload. The members of the website decide what is good and what is crap, by either downloading or ignoring, any file on the STEX.

I didn't realise that the USA encompassed most of North America... I guess that's why folks in the States incorrectly refer to their country as "America". The Rockies are noticeably missing from BC and Alberta here (!?!) but it looks like an interesting map to play.

It is a sylised map SamJam, and of course includes Canada. It also includes Mexico, and one or two countries of Central "America". It also includes the Carribean Islands ............. As a Canadian - does this map offend you ?

My use of the word "home" with reference to Neil Armstrong, actually refers to planet Earth, and not specifically the USA. The first man to walk on the moon was of course though AMERICAN.

Offend me? Not at all JH, I was just ribbin' ya. <:-P ...You said "USA" but it's really the whole continent, and "American" refers to anyone in North and South America (not just the USA). As a Canadian I'm proud of our contributions to the ISCU, NASA, and all space exploration.

Amazing map. but a correction (sorry i just have to.(no offense.)) It's "That's one small step for man, One giant leap for mankind." And to Tipexcom, WE 'landed' on the moon, but with that so did the WHOLE world. Very nice map. 10/10
