About This File
I thought this would be a good idea since I haven't seen many maps of Africa anywhere.
Cape Town was an important city in the early years of trade and even istoday. In the early years when ships were the main mode of travel andtrade, Europeans would sail around the cape stopping at Cape Town forsupplies along their way to India for spices and gold, Japan for spicesand artwork and China for spices and their amazing pottery and glasswork.
This map may not be exactly scaled to size, but it is pretty darnclose. The map was created using actual satelite imagery and terraindata. A large portion of the data was cut out though considering thatCape Town does not sprawl that far north. On this map Cape Town's metroarea would be located in the south west portion of the map.
