This download contains a revised version of my 2009 BAT of the same name, which was one of my first SimCity 4 building models then. Although my SFBT teammate voltaic did his best to get the most out of it, there were still a number of shortcomings that could only be eliminated by a fundamental overhaul. In general, when attempting to represent reality in a model, its impression in the game is more important than fidelity to the original and details. Sticking to realism in terms of dimensions and proportions, as well as excessive detail, often lead to visually unsatisfactory results. Accordingly, I have now attempted to achieve a more complex and pleasing result using the simplest means possible. The new models—a row house based on the 2009 model, two additional variants, and a corner house—are characterized by a more richly structured façade and more harmonious proportions (balconies, roof). I have omitted the original side wing in the backyard in order to allow the buildings to be constructed on 1x1 lots. (First published on 23 December 2022 at SC4D LEX) In 2011, xannepan released a small set (Rue du Général-Foy) consisting of two stylistically matching w2w BATs whose façade decor is based on a Haussmann-era corner house located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. This download contains a narrow row house, which complements the aforementioned set more than a decade later. It now allows the construction of homogeneous Général Foy housing blocks with odd numbered sides. Due to lacking availability of xannepan's original 3ds Max models, this small add-on had to be created from scratch as exported BATs hardly reveal any architectural details. Thus, the rough proportions and the colour impression of xannepan's initial set merely provided a framework for my own personal interpretation of the real building's architecture. I hope that with this download I have succeeded in combining all this into a coherent overall picture. The eponymous Place du Guatémala is located diagonally opposite the original building, in the immediate vicinity of the north-western choir chapel of the eclectic-style Saint-Augustin church.
