If you mean the in-game settings, they are all set to maximum.

Removing Dgvoodoo and using the wrapper you suggested solved the lagging issue. Thank you a lot for your advice! Unfortunately this solution produced its own problems. Most animated things and automata look sliced up (example in the picture below) and became a real eyesore after I switched wrappers. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Hey everyone, I am Plowmoon, recently joined this community after I discovered this site and the active community that is still present around SC4. Just some quick facts about me, I am currently studying at university, I live in Europe and I enjoy playing various genres of video games, although games with a strategic or designing aspect like city building games always had a special place in my heart. SC4 was one of the first computer games I can remember playing in my childhood (when I was around ten or so) and it always brought me a lot of joy, despite me being very oblivious and planting toxic waste dumps in the middle of the city and wondering why I never managed to get my economy working to the point where my cities make money. U-Drive-It missions saved all of my cities from going bankrupt back in the day. As my life progressed I lost my interest in the game (and for a long time the dvd also disappeared in some drawer). But I never really lost interest in games city building games and the only things stopping me from joining the Cities Skylines world back when it was released was that I couldn't afford a suitable PC back then. I recently discovered this community randomly through stumbeling across some content on YouTube and I was very fascinated to learn how much people have created. I was totally unaware that there is so much content available and I was thrilled enough to get a new copy of SC4 and to dive in again. (And quite some hours and nights have already been spent :D) So, I am very happy to finally also be an active part of this community and am looking forward to exchange all kind of thoughts about city building and to see all the amazing stuff that is created by this community. Cheers Plowmoon

I am already using Dgvoodoo, before I installed Dgvoodoo as a wrapper the game would'nt even start, I got a CTD directly after the logo. After I installed Dgvoodoo everything was fine and smooth until the 24H2 update. So I believe that the wrapper is still working because even tho the performance is horrible rn, I don't get any CTDs like before I installed a wrapper. The lags also start right in the region view before I even loaded any city so I don't think it is just because my cities are becoming too big and complex (and I am very sure my laptop should be able to handle it anyways if there wasn't any other issue).

I have the same issue. Updated to 24H2 a few days ago, game was running fine and smoothly before. Since the update, the game is still playable but the the performance has massively reduced. The game now randomly freezes, motions have a small delay and especially when building something the game freezes for a second before the action is executed, the music also lags. I am using a Dell Latitude 3540 laptop. The issue is persistent also after restarting and I haven't done any other changes on my system besides the update. Would be very thankful if anyone happens to have some ideas how this could be fixed.
