its all about building the city one street and neighborhood at a time. i like to assign overall themes for areas of town (trees, scenic views, large lots).... and patchwork them together to form my cities.

I'm in Southwest Louisiana, and we're definitely watching this one. The memories of Katrina and Rita are still fresh in our minds. =\

that airport took me a collective .... 15 hours or so of camping out on the couch to make. the keys are patience and meticulous detailing.

Now that I've re-purchased the game (my original copy was never returned by a friend), an entire new medium has opened up. This is part 1 of a new series featuring the beauty of Demeter's various boroughs at night. Freeway 01 has recently undergone a construction project to sink the highway below street level. The main downtown exit has been replaced with a tunnel. The river front has seen exponential growth in recent years: The Benji Whitmore Bridge spans from Little Tokyo to Downtown Demeter. I would like to see the region view encompass an entire globe similar to what you'd find with google earth. On the region view, you would be able to zoom into your cities and then ultimately select them to play. Also, with the global view on sim city, online play would be interesting as different players would influence different parts of the globe (ie soviet union, USA)... You, as a user would be able to create nations with specific governments, cultures, architecture, and climates that make geographical sense. You would also be able to truly create sleepy, remote towns, and desolate roads that go for hundreds of miles through rural areas. Trading with far-off nations could influence the culture and architecture of your city as well. Also, with the global view, vegetation would differ not only by altitude, but by latitude as well. In the northern reaches of the globe, you would have tundra and alpine forests to build your cities within, and towards the equitorial regions of the globe, you would have deserts, tropical islands, and savannas. Architecture could also be influenced by latitude. So each building set would only appear in certian regions on the globe. As far as graphics go, if EA stayed with the status quo (but ditched the grid), I'd be happy.

Well, sorry guys that its been so long since I've posted, but no fear, the thread is definitely not dead. My new semester of school just started, so now that I've gotten situated, I've been quietly toiling away at Haydenton. Included in this post are the newly updated regional map and aerial view. I'm proud to announce that the city of Haydenton has officially reached 100,000 residents. Also, there are some previews of the rural areas to the north, along with a bunch of gentrification projects within the city.
