  1. No more pipelines ?

Automatic pipes could be an option, I suppose. But I'd prefer to put them down myself. I'd also like consequences for a bad piping system and benefits for a good one.
  2. I actually like the cartoony look. Hopefully we'll be able to make mods that allow us to change the whole look of the game, so you can have your realism and I can have my toons.
  3. On the "Your Messanger" page, in the "Folders" panel, the orange boxes with numbers on the right don't quite line up with their labels on the left. Firefox, Windows Vista.
  4. Legalize Medical Marijuana

this is hilarious.. but why would education raise?
  5. Quirky laws: a ban (sorta) on laser pointers

I wouldn't blame any lawmaker for going a tad overboard on a place like Ocean City. If you live on the Chesapeake, it seems to be the place to go horse around and drink beer. I for one hate the place.
  6. Legalization of cannabis

It's a shame, because whether it is healthy or not doesn't change the fact that the drug war is a massive failure and marijuana deserves to be legal, along with every other "narcotic."
  7. Legalization of cannabis

^ That's all fine and dandy, but what does the health effects of marijuana have to do with its legalization?
  8. Legalization of cannabis

Pot is rarely adulterated with other drugs. Even when it is, it's easy for a pot user to know: pot has a distinctive smell and look. When pot is sold grounded up into "shake" it can easily be adulterated with other herbs to make a batch heavier and therefore more costly. A naive pot user might fall for it, but typically a pothead can see that some of the shake doesn't look quite right. The smell might also be changed. Fun fact, fresh catnip smells a lot like marijuana. I learned this when I showed a pothead friend of mine the catnip that grows on my property. Anyway, the other herbs probably only have a significant effect on the lungs, as they might produce hotter smoke. Other drugs are often used in combination with marijuana, especially any that might cause nausea or dizziness. However rarely are they sold mixed together already. This is basically unheard of, aside from a few dissociatives such as PCP. According to word of mouth, marijuana adulterated with PCP is easy to spot, but regardless, PCP on its own isn't very popular at all. There's a large chance that the cop didn't know what s/he was talking about. Police service might teach an individual quite a bit about the worst immediate effects of a drug, but there is no guarantee that they know drugs from a medical standpoint.
  9. Legalization of cannabis

    1. THC isn't the only active ingredient in marijuana. 2. Why does this matter in legalization? 3. Why? 4. Yeah to hell with 'em! 5. This is true, but what point are you making with this?
  10. Legalization of cannabis

I support the legalization of every drug, from marijuana to heroin to PCP. Since my last visit on this site, I've been doing extensive research on drugs and drug policy and its changed the way I view the world and the government. If you're looking for good information, try erowid.org
  11. Happy Meals being banned

Why is it necessary to ban happy meals? Wouldn't it be easier to not buy them?
  12. Bottled Water

Oh no, not too much. Our water is actually very clean, but the old copper pipes do have presence. If you run the bath water too hot at first it will knock of all sorts of tarnish off (guessing from the green color, Copper Carbonate, I think). The pH of the water is around 5.5 which contributes to the decay of the copper, but as far as I know does little to the PVC. It is a problem with the fish tank though -- most fish require a pH above 7.7 or so. If you put them in even slightly acidic water they will lose their color pretty quickly.
  13. Bottled Water

I'm not a huge fan of tap water. I don't like the taste. I don't know if it's the chlorine, the fluorine, both, or some additive that makes it taste the way it does but I don't like it. I prefer my well water -- some combination of dissolved copper (through the acidity of the water) and various copper compounds (Copper Carbonate, Copper Sulfide) makes it takes like pure joy to my well conditioned tongue.
  14. Capitalism versus Socialism

The point of disagreement is on whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.quote> Ouch, this would make it harder for me to justify why socialism is a good thing -- well I'll back out until I know more about socialism anyway. My main argument is that a goverment controlled economy, higher taxes on the rich and lower on the poor, and stuff like social security (can't think of a name, hence why I need to read more about socialism) are enough to make us socialist.
  15. Capitalism versus Socialism

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'm gonna assume we're all in agreement that the US is already a socialist country. In which case, it annoys me how people call Obama a socialist. Maybe I don't quite get it because I wasn't around during the pro-pro-pro-capitalism era that N_O_Body, for example, grew up in.
  16. Tonkso GLR Station

    thanks :D
  17. The Age Gap

I was actually underage when I joined (I'm not afraid to admit this -- the admins probably inferred it anyway.). Looking at people the age I was when I joined, I have the same feeling Duke87 does. I think some kids are just a different person altogether on the internet, like I am now. Come to think of it, most people would have guessed that I was underage easily anyway.. it showed through my posts just enough. However, now my age has become pretty ambiguous, I like to think. More than once on another forum I invited other people to guess my age based on my posts. The wide range of ages I got was pretty interesting.
  18. Facebook violates Canadian privacy law

Isn't this covered in the TOS that you agree to when you join the site? If so, how could the site be violating a law that the every user of the site signed away when they joined?
  19. Your political views

I've taken more than a few of these political compasses and some of the question are kind of vague, misleading or, well, stupid. See Wizard of ID's post on this page and Duke's on the first. They don't seem to represent libertarians very well, which is what I normally call myself. All of the tests call me a socialist, which is weird. First because socialism and libertarianism don't normally mix (not that they can't). Second because I've always thought of myself as a capitalist. I think the primary reason for the mislabeling is because of the corporate ethics type questions. They seemed to assume that because I think that companies doing X and Y is bad, I want to reform the government so that X and Y can appropriately be controlled. That's not the way I envision companies should be controlled -- companies should be controlled by the consumer.. they are the ones that buy the products and services after all!
  20. Post your picture here II

You photogenic people and your photogenicy. Nice pictures. Maybe one day when I finally take a good picture I'll post it here.
  21. Painted Hands

I'm 99% percent sure those aren't real, so paint is out of the question The reason: http://www.worth1000.com/galleries.asp?rel=Body+Shop&display=photoshop&id=23220
  22. The most embarrassing song on your MP3 player

I'm going to go with nothing. I don't think anyone should ever be embarrassed by the music they listen to. It's really kind of stupid. After you've listened to a lot of metal and then visited forums where metal is discussed, you really get to see it in it's most barbaric form (Hello elitism!). It's not pretty.

I'd bet money that legalization, with specific weed taxes, would bring the U.S. out of this resession incredibly quickly. And by bet money on it, I mean put stock on growing marijuana distributing business .

The best part is that there is no conflict; you'd never need the memeish stuff in a time where there is substantial pressure to use proper spelling. BTW, most of the kids I meet can't spell "definitely". Lots of "definatley" and "definitly".
