I love the color and vibrancy you achieved in this city, I keep coming back to look at it often I was wondering if you could tell me where the bright green tall palm trees are from, also the light concrete colored townhouses and that very cool looking set of apartment buildings - 4 of them in the development. All are in pic 4 above. Thanks!

The skinnable definitely looks interesting, it will definitely at least keep you with plenty of work to do... I definitely enjoyed the RRW as I was engineering how to get all of the 4 main line networks crossed over and converged on the giant Nord station - so that every line had access to every possible track in the station. That was my project and it was F-U-N. Thanks for your work

Lots of dets to see. Made possible starting with @Diego Del Llano's beautiful Citibank building though...

While searching for something else I came across a group of pics from when I was first starting to build the rail access corridor that let all the tracks from the eastern and northern lines come together and get to the station. Which in the end was such a mess I had to start completely over again. It's just a look at the early walls, track layouts, and texture ideas I tried in order to make it all work. Just kind of interesting. Eventually the under river portals and access corridor became this...

Really nice, somehow I am pretty sure that Winnie would be pleased at how he lives on so much. I see this very soon becoming the focal point of my next transit plaza area (the center point of most of my urban developments) which I will name Churchill Square... Just to add a little color - one of favorite quotes about Churchill, and one that I think sums him up so well, was by his great friend F.E. Smith, Lord Birkenhead - "Winston is often right, and brilliant. But when he's wrong, well - my god."

I was just looking at this again and have to say that that last pic especially really shows the thought you have put into your scene - the backyard play things and how the light color of the fence demonstrates the hillside setting so well, a dark fence would have lost the effect. And the trees are perfect - mother nature herself could not have done so well!

Looking good @reg! Love the density... Whenever I see a scene like this I immediately go on the hunt for cool buildings that I don't know or have yet haha.

As I am about to switch to a new type of subway station for upcoming installations I decided to highlight some of the already built stations in this part of the city. CITY CENTRE WEST YARDS NORD STATION EAST LASALLE EXETER SQUARE NORTH STREET LASSITER CIRCLE

Hi @The British Sausage… Thanks for the feedback! I do want to use the shadows but it seems I'm always in perpetual building mode and I find the shadows sometimes make it hard to see the little details I am always checking on lol. I love using walls though, once I figured out how to color-correct the textures to eliminate the game's 'shadow' problem on vertical surfaces there was no turning back...

Oh no I think its absolutely fine! I just like to take a look from all angles when I put something new into the game because I always try to lot everything as perfectly as I can to integrate into it's surroundings. I was really just panning around and when I got to this angle it was just a moment of satisfaction when I saw much more than I was expecting with all the buildings, the spaces in between, the greenery, and of course the new bus stops Love the new bus stops though! I am just starting to use them, I realized that every single bus stop in this new area of the city was using the exact same building...

So sometimes you are just trying to check on a new bus stop that you've just built and then you rotate the view and you see a whole new scene...

Beautiful beaches, and they are not easy to do! And you are right about the good time. I primarily build my city in a way that I reflect what I wish it was rather than what it is... -
I've been working on making changes in the new development areas to increase pedestrian walkability - one of the main ways has been to force streets through an underpass allowing for pedestrians to seamlessly move between whole developments and even cross neighborhoods. Have lots of pedestrian space was one of the cornerstones of what I wanted the new city to be. Still working on some of these areas.

Well thanks for the compliment I actually did not figure out the tiling issue though, it's still a problem. To recap for anyone else interested(!): I wanted to build the wall lots out of longer than 1x1 lots so that seams between lots would be eliminated and the wall would look its best - so I make each of the wall lots whatever length it needs to be - 5x1, 22x1, whatever. And as long as the lots are placed along the X axis they display fine but if you place them on a Y axis the game takes the single texture square and instead of repeating it, stretches it for the entire length of the lot obviously ruining the effect. When I need walls on a Y axis lot I am limited to just using a very plain concrete which, when stretched, still looks decent. I have found that most lots in the game actually do this - but I have no idea why. I have found a very few lots which are big office buildings which do not do it, they do display the foundation texture on the Y axis properly, but again I do not understand all the exemplar settings in a why that has let me figure out if this is controllable or not. Anyway just in case someone wants to chew on this issue for a little... And some pics of the problem - the first one is a nice form stone wall when the lot is placed X axis, the second when the same lot is placed along the Y axis.

These are looking really nice! I obsess over the trees and greenery in my city. I had created about 30 different customized textures of grass for my lots (mostly all very similar to each other lol). Until I realized I really was just getting ridiculous...

I like to do these integrated developments where I take anywhere from 2 or more buildings and maybe adjacent transit plazas, parks, or pedestrian corridors and combine them together to create cohesive new neighborhoods. I am almost finished West Yards and I think maybe these two buildings are more perfectly integrated together than anything I have done so far - the building to the right has that sub-level terrace which makes it seem you can just walk right into the lower level of the building next to it. Anyway it was fun to do...

The very first thing I did in this new city, almost 3 years ago, was build these rail tunnels under the river and as silly as it may sound, it was THESE tunnels and the resulting corridor of tracks that lead me to push myself to learn much more about creating textures and lotting than I ever thought I would. But it is a good feeling when you look back at how it started and then see what it has become... And of course you have help along the way - @rivit and @rsc204 especially were really patient and helpful to me! Just some holes coming out of the ground... And the vision nearing completion (but not quite yet)…

Nice work! I don't recognize the train station in the first pic and I like it! Can you tell me what it is?

This is still one of my favorite creations - At the south edge of all the lead tracks that go into the huge central railway station complex there is a set of tracks that has broken off to drop down and pass under the station so trains can cross over to the eastern side of the city. As the bullet train leaves its station it too has to tunnel under the valuable reclaimed commercial real estate to continue to the airport and points east... I have begun going back and adding lights to many lots, realizing I neglected lighting early on in the development of this city. I think it makes a big difference!

While the work is never ending, which is as it should be, the goal of redeveloping the areas around the region's largest train station into the region's largest employment hub is finally nearing completion. In the end the project was much larger than I had realized and took way, way longer - all the eastern and northern computer rail networks converge here along with and HSR line from the eastern cities of the region and a BTM line which connects the two airports on either of the far sides of the region's main urbanized cities. Another complication was that 4 subway lines needed to converge as well but the old Gare du Nord station is not subway enabled so the stations had to be external and within walking distance - again really testing the limits of the space around the station. I originally thought about tearing down the old station and building one of the more modern stations but I'm glad I did not - the station is still beautiful and fits it's role as the THE main station of the region. I modernized all around it - lots of green and pedestrian spaces and connecting walkways to the new bus services, HSR and BTM stations, and adjoining subway stations. The pic really shows the breadth of the station when contrasted to the city around it. And I showed it at night just because it's pretty...
