I used to talk to him quite often back when I was more active. I knew he had health issues, but this is truely a shock for me. He was a wonderful and supportive member of one of the greatest sites on the internet. Words cannot accurately describe what a loss this is to the community. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace, Mike, good ol' buddy

Greetings fellow Simtropolians! This is my second CJ (first was San Tierro) on Simtropolis, and hopefully it will last longer than the previous journal. I hope you all will enjoy Estancia, as well as other fine journals on the site. First off, I have used many BAT's and Modd's. Custom content will increase vastly over the next few updates, don't you worry. I do plop some Maxis buildings, making for a more realistic city planning procedure (thanks to the Plop Modd). Other modds include: - Cycledoggs Terrain Modd - PEG's Red Moss Granite - A lot which gives me $4,000,000,000. - NAM (Network Addon Modd) BAT's I use include: Simgoober NDEX BSC Gascooker Ill Tonkso Jeronij Myself and other fine BATers. Enough of the Chit - Chat. The Province of Estancia was founded in 1970 after a referendum which went to Yes with 67.8% of the vote. The climate is temperate, with hot summers and cool winters. There has only been one "city" for the past 35 years, known as Estancia City. Its growth has been limited and it went through horrible economic times in the 70's and 80's with the closure of 2 Steel Mills. Its population is only 56,700! But new mayor, Richard Norwood, is going to change that. The Flag of Estancia: The Region: Many areas remain unexplored, so don't hold your breath. Lets travel back to 1977, a tough time in Estancia. Particularly the neighbourhood of Castle Rock: The murder rate was high, and unemployment hit 32% at one point! Now lets return to present day Castle Rock: Aside from Castle Rock, lets see some other locations. The Flatbush Residence. Built in 1998, it has started a residential boom of the waterfront: The, uh, Waterpump. Mourningwood Cemetery. The Seniors aren't so crazy about it. The lakeshore along Dirkshore Ave is rather nice. I love it! So realistic, and the city has a lush tree cover. I also like the mixed and diversified building styles. Great Work!

Thanks for the support everyone! But I hate say that I am leaving Simtropolis soon. This site has been a great community and filled with great members, but it just seems to have lost most of its momentum and "touch" over the past few months. I know I'm not the best member, or the most helpful. But I just have no reason to stay here. I've held out for a the last 2 months to see if things would improve, now I've given up. RL will be a problem soon and I've quit BATing for a while now. I just want to say bye and maybe I'll return some day if I feel like it. You guys have really been wonderful and there truly is no site like this one. Thanks Simtropolis, for good times! Again, I might change my mind and decide to stay. But right now things appear otherwise. Even if I leave, I may update once in a while. CJ's are simply too fun to give up.

The Results are in! Estancia is a province no more. There is much celebration among the citizens of Estancia. We can now self-govern ourselves. The ridings were used as a simpler way of gathering votes. In the end, they were all tallyed together. If you're wondering why Estancia City has only 1/3 of its population right now, thats simply beacuse we haven't ventured outside of the city yet. Note that there are ridings in areas that appeared to be nothing more than empty space. They aren't anymore just so you know. I built them up. This is going to take us on a bumpy road ahead. This CJ just started.........

We have pay phones in our school, which are very useful when the power goes out and you need a ride home in bad weather (though 80% of the time I just walk home). I have a cell phone, but the last time I used it was 14 months ago! I don't even know where it is right now other than its in the house somewhere.

Personal Replies will come soon, need to get this update going first. Update 10: July 27: The new "semi-suburbs" of North Estancia (more north than North Village). Heading East to "East River". Located within view of the Parliament Buildings (if the referendum passes. For now they are simply Provincial). The North-Eastern section of the Main Island, Valdoria. Centered around the 130/100 Interchange. The 130 is the best route for people going through Estancia City which goes through the eastern suburbs on the Mainland. For the first time, we will be leaving the Main Island and see the Southern and Eastern suburbs/ The Citizens of Estancia will cast their vote tomorrow. My next update will focus on the upcoming referendum and the outcome. Riding by Riding.

My laptop won't come back from the repair shop till August 8th, at the least. I was fortunate enough to have this PC to back me up. Its good to hear Depra is safe. We can wait, all that matters is that you and your PC are better.

Storms, storms and more storms. Been that way for the last three days. Tornado Warning on Tuesday and a less intense storm yesterday evening, and theres more in the forcast for today and the weekend.
