  1. Modern Subway to Bus Station

nice look...don't know why no one thought of combining bus and subway onto the same lot before!
  2. Ritz Project St Ritz v10

it needs depth...the front of the building looks painted on, rather than three dimensional. the sides are also way too plain. not a bad start, but definitely needs more work.
  3. Bus Stop Set

Great! Can you make a version that does replace this original?
  4. VentureCorp HQ

I really like the shape although it could use some more detail on the plazas and roof.
  5. Nexis Modern University

I like the idea, but it doesn't really look any different than, say, an office park. What I would like to suggest is to use some props from the original university with some new buildings like shown here to make it look like the university expanded and modernized over time.
  6. Nexis City Ball Park

I like it...although shouldn't it be all dirt for a city park? ;)
  7. Crawl Balls

    very original!

I'm going to try to better match the color scheme for the engine and cars. Which statement would you say is the most true. 1) The engine needs to be lighter to match the car. 2) The car needs to be darker to match the engine. 3) Both need to be changed to some shade in between. Please let me know what needs to be changed. ---------------- I think somewhere in between. Actually, I think the color of the doors on the cars is closest to the actual color of the trains. In looking at some more pics, I think the engine and cars are the same metallic color, its just that the engine's metal has a shiny finish and the cars are more of a matte finish. I don't think that's something that would translate well to SC4.

I think the proportions look about right if I visualize the lower set of windows...however, if you think it's a little long for the tracks, I wouldn't see the harm in shortening it a little.

Ok, Trolca, lucky for you it's a slow day at work... Here's a better picture of the LIRR C3 train car that clearly shows the two decks: Also, I found out, it's technically a bi-level, not a double-decker. I made this little diagram: The light green areas are the entry level, and is where the doors are. There is some seating in ends of these sections. The dark green areas are the upper and lower levels. This shot of the interior is from the upper level and if you look carefully, you can see the entry level and some of its seating: Hope this helps! Back to work...

Your model is based on a double-decker train which is used on limited runs, primarily to the points furthest away from NYC. It's about 1 1/2 times the height of the standard train, which may be why the proportions don't look so hot.... Looking at the picture, it doesn't appear to be any taller than any other train. If anything the extra hight looks like its taken up by the lower ground clearance. Another point is that the cars in my mod aren't double-deckers like those in that picture. I was thinking about making them but I wasn't sure what they're used for before you posted. I just didn't picture double-deckers as a commuter train. Is it two complete floors inside? ---------------- You are correct that some of the extra height is made up by reducing the ground clearance, but this train is definitely 2-3 feet taller than the standard car. I believe they were custom-designed to maximize their height through the existing East River tunnels. They are also definitely double-decker commuter trains. The lower level windows are about a foot above the platform when the train is in station. When you walk in, there's about 4 steps down to the lower level and 4 steps up to the upper level, kind of like a split-level house. I'll see if I can scare up some better pics for ya.

Trolca, great work. I thought I could provide some insight regarding the LIRR trains... Your model is based on a double-decker train which is used on limited runs, primarily to the points furthest away from NYC. It's about 1 1/2 times the height of the standard train, which may be why the proportions don't look so hot.... The standard train, in terms of proportion, more closely resembles the SC4 train size. The newest version, the M7, is here: I'm not sure you can do anything with respect to the height of the model you already made, but I hope this helps a little. Anyway, keep up the good work!
