It's probably already been suggested, but; One Directional Roads. / Traffic Control If at all possible. This would make for a incredibly traffic control,, something I loved from my old days of Transport Tycoon. Even the ability to control certain types of traffic, eg. industry vehicles, depot trucks, etc.. only being able to go down certain roads. I mean these rules exist in reality, so I was thinking... -

I'm not sure on the limitations but; What are the limitations in expanding/building outside of the pre-set boundaries? Did the old mod just allow little bits? is it even viable? do the lands beyond a certain distance have "buildable terrain" etc..? I ask this because it would be an incredible experience to manage at entire region area. It would eat an average PC alive, but I think it would present a nice challenge in terms of the already existing mechanics. Whether it's controlling air pollution in a way that's real time and matter. Placing services more regularly in order to access all areas, fire police/etc.., education for smaller areas, power/water/etc.. pulses would need to be.... either well above the threshhold or placed more readily across the landscape. All the way down to the more specific things like having Omega strategically placed so industry/commercial are more readily supplies with freight/drones. And the more efficient use of trains as a transport alternative to get sims from one side of the region to the other for work. I am utterly clueless to the modding scene, so i'm just curious if it's even possible, now that offline mode is being implemented. -

My dream is that we will eventually be able to just use an entire region for build a massive city type area. You could split industry and such , have ruran towns in areas unsuited to bigger construction/closer workers for certain industry/utilities. Use certain major hubs for for the usual things such as tourism and the like, but without the non-real time element between cities. Eventually even havingf something like being able to set specific trade routines so goods are delivered by certain depots to certain production plants/garbage dumps/etc.. (admittedly, a huge setup like that would probably be hard wit hthe current way the garbage/recycles go to the closest facilities. Would also make managing air pollution and similar ACTUALLY matter/make it a challenge.
