Oh my god...that was cool! How the hell you can have flat land AND water features? Is it a custom map of some sort, or is the water eye candy? Anyway, it was very dirty, very ghetto, I loved it. Looking forward to more! -

To all admins monitoring: if it is possible, I would like to make this page a general road-geek page. To my fellow roadfreaks: post anything pertaining to road transport: interstate signs, traffic lights, whatever. Keep it up! I'm loving it all Here is something I made in MS Visio: Image made by me, Mr. Cortez. You are free to reuse any way you like.

OMG I did not know that you could have two aspects within the same housing, for example: Media from youtube. I do not own this media nor am I'm claiming it The green left-turn arrow and the yellow aspect is IN THE SAME HOUSING! I did not know this was possible...but then again, I think this is how the old wink-o-matic pedestrian signals worked as well.

@Rymac91: Thanks for your videos. On Wheeler Road & St Barnabas Road southeast of DC, there is a flashing red arrow telling drivers to yield when flashing. The first video is a great example of that. The second video is nice too. I like the flashing yellow, letting drivers know that oncoming traffic also have the right-of-way, and a green arrow means that your turn is protected...that should be federal standard. Thanks everyone for your pictures. I never thought that my simple question on a double red light would evolve into this!

Yeah, it does...it looks like a upside-down doghouse. For people who are not traffic signal freaks, this is a doghouse: Doghouse Signal Controlling a right-turn-only lane Indian Head Highway & Livingston Road right outside DC Photo copyright © Google I am so happy of the actions taken by some of the transportation planners from the '60's. When the system was first being proposed, there was NO such thing as a green line in the blueprints! Are you a Metrofreak?

Yeah, if I see a flashing green, I would drive faster. I remember when I was a kid, there was a light at South Monroe St & Wilkens Av in Baltimore...i saw a three-aspect traffic light with a red ball and a green right arrow at the same time. The funny thing is that the right turn was the only thing drivers could legally do. wassup with that? (I wish I could find a picture) By the way, unless there is already a page like it, I want the admins to make this a "show us your..." kinda page...in this case, traffic signals. EDIT: Something I just found: Picture from The Washington Post This double red is a HAWK: High Activated Crosswalk on busy Georgia Avenue in DC near Silver Spring. When a pedestrian wants to cross, she presses the button. A yellow light flashes, then glows solid, then the two red lights flashes and then grows solid. When the light thinks the pedestrian has crossed the street, the solid red lights flash for a few seconds, then stop.
