  1. New DLC, official info

Is the Attractions Set available worldwide? This is only available to players in the United States. LAAAAAAAME.
  2. That only works in sandbox mode.
  3. Cities do not connect when it comes to production and trade. Each city only connects to the region for importing and exporting. Gifting resources between cities, however, does not require the train trade port module.
  4. No Taxes

Try to achieve full education, zero fires, no crimes, no deaths, full happiness. Money isn't the be-all-and-end-all of this game.
  5. 1.8 million sims!

I call BS on this. The biggest red flag in my opinion is that with no sewage system whatsoever, his 1.8 million population creates just a 6kgal/hr sewage treatment deficit. Also, there are no sick or injured sims in this city whatsoever (and no, having a 0% tax rate does not create "super sims").
  6. Rail tunnel glitch?

Wrong forum. This is for the new SimCity. You're asking about SimCity 4.
  7. Where are my trees going?

Trees negate pollution. The more ground & air pollution you have in an area, the faster the trees will absorb it and die (disappear). The best example I can give is when you plant tress to make heavy ground pollution disappear. The trees quickly disappear along with a percentage of the pollution.
  8. Let's not forget that EA & Maxis are the same folk who once released an actual expansion pack for The Sims 2 called "Ikea Stuff" which was literally just crap from Ikea to put in your Sims' house. And it cost money.

  10. Unlike the Grade School and High School, the University (and Community College) will have several classes each day, allowing it to teach more students than it can hold at once. The two things that are directly affected by the number of students taught per day are the level of the building and the amount of industrial skill produced. The more students that are able to get to the university, the more it will level up, allowing for additional wings to be placed; which in turn increases the student capacity allowing for even more students. Each student that has been taught that day also contributes to the high tech industrial skill that provides educated workers, allowing more high tech buildings to be supported. The more students, the quicker you increase your high tech industrial skill, so it makes perfect sense to place dormitories at the University. Dorms provide students to the university without the need to build up more residential. They also allow many students to get to class without adding to traffic near the beginning of classes. While dorm students won't increase the knowledge of your residential buildings, they will go shopping at nearby commercial buildings. Also, since you control where the dorms are placed, you can control more where students can go first, ensuring certain wings get students if there bonus is more important to your city.
  11. Solar farm needs workers

You need to create more workers than there are jobs for them in your own city. Once you have a surplus of 300 workers (it doesn't matter what wealth class) they'll automatically go to work at the solar array. Eventually.

  13. Of course it'll work! You think EA is going to release something that doesn't... oh, wait a sec.
  14. Great Works - Which and Why

By far, the most useful great work is the solar array. It provides seemingly unlimited electricity to connected cities, which allows you to build huge manufacturing operations without having to waste loads of space with all the power plants you'd otherwise need. The least useful, in my opinion, is the arcology. Sure, it makes available a tonne of workers, but they must all commute into your city every morning and back out every night, which will eventually cause massive traffic delays no matter how well your city's roads are set up. The other two - international airport and space centre - seem to not do a whole lot, to be honest. Their effects on your city are nowhere near as noticeable as they're made out to be.
  15. There's no benefit to adding upgrade modules to the city hall if you've already placed them elsewhere in the region. It's actually a good idea to avoid doing so, as each additional module comes with an extra hourly running cost.
