The United Kingdom Of Cordovia - A Royal Affair
hammo replied to pipishere's topic in SC4 City Journals
Nice update - great to see the Queen's residence is protected by the almighty Protectorate, are you paying me for those? Great CJ as always, one of my fave nations. Keep it up. Toodle Pip. -
Oooooo Looks nice! Can't wait for more. Good luck with it.

Good idea Ill Tonkso, one problem... Moterways? Mis-spelt. You mean Motorways. Easy mistake I guess.

New Roads on the Island The Island is undergoing a massive change in it's road network. The Department of Transport has brought in over 15 new roads to span the island and cut travel times to major cities.

Pip: Thanks! I'm all better now. What an immune system! 12 hours and all better. A few more comments from other people would be nice! Hint

Shock horror - I finally got around to playing SC4! Karneoloa is a small town of 20,000 residents which lies North of Mililani and South of Sunset Beach, nestled in an area of plains with rolling hills and ocean to it's East. The B8 road was built to join the A3 to Sunset Beach with the A5 to the capital of Kaneone, cutting the journey time and reducing high traffic volumes travelling through the busy resort of Sunset Beach in order to reach Kaneone from the North. The B8 heads Eastbound from the A3, just North of the town. The Karneoloa Services is off of the A3/B8 Junction and has numerous facilities and a hotel for overnight stays. News on North Shore: I've decided to redo North Shore, making it more in touch with the country park. I decided that it's hotels etc. were not needed with Sunset Beach being it's neighbour. So, North Shore will take alot longer to come around. In the meantime, more updates on some of the new roads being developed. Below is, as shown on the previous page, the island Ordnance map showing all roads. Most of the B roads are to be built.

The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'
hammo replied to jarnomiedema's topic in SC4 City Journals
It's a shame to hear that peace negotiations are falling apart. Although I remain impartial (for obvious reasons) I applaud your clear attempt at securing peace. The discussion about this conflict in the SCJU has pretty much turned to investigating Newark and Giran de Cani's involvement, but I think this announcement will spark new life into the debate. -
Guess what... yeh! Still not got around to playing SC4, so still no in-game shots. Here's a small update to tide you all over. National Power Grid Following the power disaster in Pearl City, the DoE (Department of Energy) outlined plans for two central power centres which provide power to cities across the island. At each city, a step-down transistor will provide the buildings with 230v, whilst a backup generator will compensate for any power losses that may occur. The idea behind the plans are to remove power stations from cities completely, making for a safer environment. Below is the first plan released by the DoE. The map shows the island, the two power centres and underground power lines. The red line seperates the areas which are controlled by either power centre in North Shore and Southfield.

Already been answered: https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=67621&forumID=120&search=1&searchstring=#611932 Basically; 1) In SC4 click New Region and name it 2) Open a different region such as London or Berlin 3) Switch to your desktop and go to your documents/sim city 4 4) Go in regions, and then into the folder with the name of your region 5) Paste the config.bmp that you downloaded, it will replaced the current one (you will have to click yes 6) In SC4, reload your newly created region 7) Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R Browse to your documents and pick the JPG that you downlaoded 9) Click OK 10) You will now see SC4 saying Creating City... Done. The problem that you are having with the incorrect size is this; Multiply the dimensions of the config.bmp and add 1 to the width and height. This gives you the dimensions that the greyscale JPG needs to be in order to work. If the dimensions of the greyscale JPG aren't the same as whta you've just worked out, the map will not render - You will have to either resize the greyscale JPG or create your own custom config.bmp file. Dimensions in pixels btw. To fill in gaps due to later edited posts - What he seems to be getting at is he thinks you are pressing them in the wrong order and has explained everything for your covience and verification, Compromise.

The United Citys Of New Santos(pictures)
hammo replied to Tennismaster1's topic in SC4 City Journals
Let me get this straight... The region is New Santos, but you are copying UK cities. And this is your second CJ with the same name? I don't get it - but it looks good anyway! -
Awesome update, even if there were a few spelling mistakes I don't know how you manage to make such a realistic and great region, but whatever you do, it works! Keep it up!

A towering skyscaper in the middle of a field and area of low-rise buildings.... I don't think so. Try and produce a stepping effect that you see in most cities. The very centre is hi-rise, surrounded by mid-rise and then the majority of the city beyond that is low-rise. Make each section bleed into the other.

Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal
hammo replied to ILL Tonkso's topic in SC4 City Journals
Cool looking maps - you can tell you use Photoshop because of the way those lines appear. Keep up the great work! -
Update Still no in-game update, I haven't had the time to play through the game for a very long time now Anyway, to tide everyone over, here's a little bit of information on the national airline, AireSue

Good CJ so far decola. One tip - press 'g' whilst in your city to take the grid off. It appears in your screenshots and with the grid off they will look much better.

Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal
hammo replied to ILL Tonkso's topic in SC4 City Journals
Small update but so much quality! I really love (platonically of course ) your CJ and especially that high street. It's all very GREAT British! Keep it up! Can't wait for more updates. PS. The Country Park from Birmingsfield has set aside two plots of land in Isla de Suenos for more country parks! It's really getting big! -
All cities have already been covered in the previous pages, look back through the pages and you'll see Pearl City and what's in it. As for new in-game pics, well I've said this before - I haven't had time.

Missing Fast food joints and gas stations
hammo replied to snowpap's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Date: 9/13/2005 8:04:53 AM Author: hairy114 There isn't a Travelodge in the game either.quote> There is a Holiday Inn, aswell as many others. Also, there are loads of gas stations and stores on the STEX. Most of them from this great BAT artist. CLICK HERE -
Date: 9/13/2005 3:51:09 AM Author: Exhagaga Your maps are excellent! Hope to see more *not so subtle hint* quote> Thanks, no hint needed - there any many more maps to come, aswell as in-game updates when I eventually get around to be able to play! Pearl City Map You'll see above that the soutern-most city (bottom-centre) is Pearl City, the location of a recent disaster with it's power plants which you can clearly see on the map. No railways in these maps, they mostly go underground through built up districts so don't appear on the map, however in Pearl City, the railway is an extension of the current system and therefore not even built yet. As you'll no doubt notice the road systems are very grid-like. This is because the island is fairly new in development (only discovered in the 1800's) and as the island is relatively small (about the size of Northern Ireland) this road systems allows for the maximum development space.

It's mind-boggling just how GIGANTIC that base is! PS. Thanks for mentioning the name of my PMRLS, much appreciated

Of course you can see the pictures, theyre on your Hard Drive! Nobody else can see them unless you upload them to the internet, on a web server, using something like ImageShack.

Great update as usual. Can't wait for more.
