Regional Airport V.1 (Road Enabled)
maxsimcity commented on SimcityFuturist's file in Transportation
It looks Fantastic! And for a first project ever more impressive! I really appreciate the realism although there is a few tiny things I would have changed; The control tower is a little close to the runway I feel(not to say there isnt airports out there like that). It would have been nice if there was a few CRJs or airbuses in there to spice things up and maybe group the airlines together? But regardless of that its a hell of a lot and I'm excited to use it in a region of mine. 5 out of 5 ! -
Josh6, where did you get the SAAB turbo prop? and is it a MMP?
-
thanks! ive always enjoyed your posts as well, and im going to agree with terring, i really like the concept, its incredibly unique but if its possible i think you should try and make a smoother slope, but keep up the originality!

Washington Heights municipal airport, a small (functional) airport in the college town of Washington Heights, I made it to replace the maxis small landing strip. In these photos it is in stage two of its growth, when it upgrades I will put pictures up of it in stage three growth An overhead shot of the whole airport, note the college in the top left corner The only FBO on the field, it also hosts the part time terminal for the charter airline that operates the C 208. The north side of the field. some brave glider pilots base there planes here despite the shorter field. The east side of the Washington Heights University is just walking distance away, since the airport lays in such a close proximity, they started a flight program in the late 80's.

Zulu I share how you feel, I know there is a few automata MD-90s out there, i have the american one in the top left on the first picture, but some static props would be really nice, I'm very eager for the turbo props to be released because i would like more small airliners to make some small regional airports look a little more realistic. and Heitomat, the airport firetrucks are from the "airport crash center" in the BSC exchange, https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=328 there is a link to them,

a lot i made for an upcoming CJ, its CRJ 900 that had to make a forced landing and skidded off the runway just wondering to get some feedback, i can post more of the airport if anyone would like to see it, its a mid to large sized domestic hub airport Without the Bluish fire retardant foam texture A Picture of the other terminal arm of the airport

Is it possible to create a custom Airport with this area of land?
maxsimcity replied to PontiacFiero84's topic in SC4 Showcase
i think that if you make the runway/runways go parallel the inlets you have the starts of a nice airport design, BTW i like the prison island! -
Josh6, you have a great talent for urban planning and have photo realistic cities, but your airports, oh my they are impressive, as a pilot myself they look just like google earth images of places id fly to!

GMT, thanks for your feedback, so i agree, i dont like how there is that tiny grass line separating the rwy from the turning circle but there is no alternative piece unfortunately, as for the plane issue, i knew when i was building it the runway would have been too short for a 757 but i wanted larger planes for the cargo area besides the 206's and that was the smallest MMP aircraft, I thought it would have been tight but doable for the a 321 but i was unsure, just curious about how many feet long is one square tile in the game? i kinda always just played it by eye. anyways thanks again for your feedback ~maxsimcity

KWPI ( Windy Point International ) is a small airport in one of my oceanic regions. it serves a island/city of 500,000 that is primarily mountainous so finding flat space for a airport was hard, most of the airport is built on claimed land from the sea. it hosts 9 gates, (5 jetbridge and 4 airstair) plus a small cargo facility and a small GA area. It has only one precision approach ( RWY 17) and has a unique feature at the north side of the airport where planes must back taxi RWY 17 to get to a turning circle/hold short lines for RWY 17. Please let me know what you all think! Above view of the whole airport KWPI 6 by The main terminal (note the largest plane to come into KWPI is the airbus A321 KWPI 5 by The Cargo section of the airport that hosts three gates , one large and two small for the C206 island hoppers KWPI 4 by Some pilots describe the VFR only approach into RWY 35 as flying into a jungle KWPI 7 by A UPS 757 200 is holding short RWY 17 KWPI 1 by A Air New Zealand 737 200 is still kept in service because of its excellent island hopping abilities is loading up to makes its runs KWPI 3 by
