  1. mirror of the vernacular trend

hahaha! i pass that building nearly everyday, when im at uni- lunch and coffee trips between neds and alva. Thanks for sharing it. just a small update to show how things shaped up over the weekend. im getting the hang of Max's materials editor and just seeing how powerful it is!
  2. mirror of the vernacular trend

Dwyer Durack House in Perth has recently had cladding works carried out, which i assume is for the chogum meeting in a few months. the structure was until recently looking worse for wear. Originally the exterior assumed pebble bash/terrazzo-built in the 70s. this building appears small enough yet still a challenge to master in the bat system. Im still deciding if i like the building- yet it would look nice in a downtown sc4 city. the cladding system introduced has created the highest gloss finish i have ever seen on a building, apart from fully glassed exteriors that is below is the link to the photo i took recently: as you can see the structure is coming up to completion: haha and yes i hope this one will make it to a finished release grade before things get to busy again! -dave
  3. Well now... it dawned on me to share with Simtropolis my disarray of various bat works, first published on SC4d. the only released bat so far is Beverley train station, for str. -best dave.
  4. Scottys stuff

hey scotty, i feel like im hijacking your thread with all these links to aerial images ect, but this i think is so much more useful! google "nearmaps" the database covers au capital cities, images are updated very often, and multi-view gives NESW views OMG! its just like sc4 and I'm loving the westpac tower kind regards -dave

love the April fools joke guys very clever ahah
  6. Scottys stuff

very nice! if you need better resolution top views, try googling 'skyview wa' then clicking order now which will bring you into the map browser, which in itself is much like google maps. in the program, you have to zoom in all the way as say at 1:2 scale the image will be jagged (which i think is to stop folks print screening) (of course you don't actually have to order the map hehe) hope this helps
  7. On001222 Thailand Bat Thread

  8. Scottys stuff

great work Scotty! i tried and failed at batting this one so im very envious of your great work! heheh and i might be able to help you out with the base. the St Georges terrace (the street was not named after the tower, the tower came later) or south side of the complex had renovation work carried out a few years back. the renos introduced pale green copper in a somewhat abstract fashion along the eave structure linking the street to the tower. drops us a pmses if you need more info best. ,dave.
