  1. Britain From Above.

I saw the first one in the series, and it was very good. It was quite interesting, although probably not as relevant to city building as the others sounded (it was more focused on the provision of services, like power and goods). I was thinking about watching the others soon...
  2. Cinema KYNU

The model looks quite promising, I think you just need some work on the textures. I would agree that the texture on the wall looks to repetitive, and I think the cracks/lines on the roof texture stand out too much. Some of the textures on the roof junk also look a bit odd. Nice job so far, just a few bits to tweak to make it perfect!
  3. You can put a CJ in both if you want, as I do. I tend to think the CJ section is better because it allows people to read and see the CJ more easily. The whole system is focused around the CJ updates themselves - it gives each update a page, making them easier to read, and puts all the relevant comments under the update. It also allows people to then comment of previous updates, but still have their comments with the relevant update. Generally speaking, I also think it is a lot less cluttered, removing all the signatures and buttons that the forums have. The forums do allow you more control over what you put in your message, in terms of formatting and pictures (although I think if you copy the code from the forum, it will probably work in the CJ comment box too), but I don't think these are really necessary, as generally speaking, people don't use pictures when commenting on CJs.
  4. Show us your Night Shots!

Some pictures from my CJ. Click for larger images.
  5. Invent a rule!

Article 5, Section 1 Subsection 156: The handling of entertainer's skulls is prohibited.
  6. Intro

If you are limited to 50 plugins, you may be able to use the DatPacker to combine them into 50 large files. Link: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=26
  7. Laundromats and Drycleaners

All these small shops you make are really well done and much appreciated. Great job!
  8. The Signature Above Me v3

6/10 Some interesting things, but the animated picture is too small, and the overall layout is a bit chaotic
  9. Is the game dead or what?

If MC goes bankrupt, the rights to the game could (and I should think would) be sold to pay off the creditors. While it might not end being MC developing the game, I don't think it would necessarily mean the end of the game. Indeed, it may see a change in development direction that better suits the players.
  10. Day 1

The city looks very nice. However, as said above, the building stands out too much. Something 1/2 - 1/3 the height might be more appropriate as a stand out building. I also thought that the cliffs in the first picture stand out too much - I would recommend a more stone coloured cliff texture mod. But other than those things, the town looks wonderful! I will be checking back.
  11. Guess The City

I think it looks kinda Turkish Maybe it is Antalya (I can't remember where I heard that name, but it is very familiar...).
  12. Hexys work in progress

I think each dinosaur type should have at lease a separate lot each - having a single randomly chosen lot for all the dinosaurs would make it difficult to segregate the dinosaurs into cages. Would it be possible to make the dinosaurs as mayor mode trees - so that one can plop them where ever they like? I think you can create the trees such that clicking on it multiple times will change the model used - allowing one to get different angles for the dinosaurs.
  13. mipro Barry Sanders Project

The building is looking very good, the lighting looks quite impressive. 1. Difficult to say, I think it would look good regardless. 2. Yes, it looks too dark. 3. Yes, it is too dark and doesn't stand out enough without a light. 4. Probably yes, I think it would look nicer 5. Depends how it is done. Hard to say if it would look nice. 6. I think the top of the building also looks a bit too dark, and could do with something to make it more interesting, that said, I take the point that it doesn't have them in real life, and that it would probably look strange with them. Is there anything else (even regular lights) which could go on top? Note that the comments are based on the Darker Nite version.
  14. Hexys work in progress

I think a modular set would be good with the fences, roads and dinosaurs. In terms of the buildings, I can't remember the movie that well, but I seem to recall there were more restaurants/hotels around, as well as a few more substantial enclosures - such as the flying dinosaur cage. I don't know how many reference pictures would be available though...
  15. Waiting on a Sunny Day

I thought the second picture actually looked moderately pleasant with all the green from around the basketball court, trees and park. I like all the comments about how depressing the place is for the residents funny. Great pictures!
  16. The story and some characters are developing. It will be interesting to see where you take this!
  17. Bay of Krakovec - Part 1

Wonderful pictures again. How do you do those fields?
  18. Day 37: Turnabout Point

The mosaic looks great. Just as detailed as ever.
  19. Jurassic Park

As everyone else has said, great. You have done a really good job on it.
  20. Hexys work in progress

The Jurassic Park building is looking great. I think the only criticism I would have is that the dinosaurs are all in the same position, but I guess that could take quite a bit of work to change, and it isn't too noticeable. Were you considering creating more of the buildings from the film, and making a set?
  21. Should the Titanic be raised?

I don't think there is much point in raising the enitre ship, as everyone has stated it would simply disintegrate. On bringing up artefacts, I tend to think there isn't much harm with near 100 year old ship - in fact, it would be good to have the history available for people to see. Plenty of other graves have been scavenged from for historical reasons - from the pyramids to WWII battle sites, so I don't see any problem in that. However, the fact that it is largely companies with travelling shows and not museums is unfortunate. I believe there was actually a plan to make a scale Titanic casino in Las Vegas around 2000: official site and news article. The casino was rejected I think by the council.
  22. Special Report: The Corsania Electoral System

Thanks for the comments everyone. _marsh_: I just copied the code from the forums and put it in the description box. It uses up your character limit though!
  23. The NEW Omnibus

You could copy the pages into a document and save/print that if you wanted...
  24. Bottled Water

On the idea of a bottle deposit tax, I see no harm in charging 5c more for a drink, if that money can be reclaimed when the bottle is handed in. If it results in more recycling, good for it. If it results in a little more money for the government, I don't really see much harm in that either, especially as they need to raise money some how (if not through bottles, through taxes...). Either way, someone who is paying a fortune to have their water imported from the finest French springs can easily afford an extra 5c on their water. General rant about environmental stuff: I think one could argue for ages on whether or not nature/animals have any right in themselves to be preserved - i.e. whether humans have the right to use animals and nature for their own purposes as much as they see fit. However, I think that no one here would deny that humans themselves have a right to live comfortably and happily - effective resource management is something important to human's ability to live comfortably. In terms of resource conservation, I think that it is wise to try and minimise the amount of resources we use now, for a few reasons. Firstly, I think that future generations have a right to live comfortably too - what makes a person in the future any less deserving to have access to the resources we now have? If we use up everything now, people in the future will have nothing to provide a decent standard of living to themselves with. Secondly, I realise that if we use too many resources now, that within my life time, there will be considerable increases in the price of resources - a tangible consequence to myself. We can see with oil prices, the problems that price rises have - it increases not only the cost of driving your own car, but also increases the cost of just about everything you buy in shops (which was driven there in trucks). I don't think that people should completely stop using resources, but we have to realise that there are a finite amount of resources on the planet. The number of people on the planet and their quality of life is increasing, resulting in more and more resource use. We not only have to reduce the amount we use now so that people (including ourselves) in the future have access to resources, but we have to start developing a society which can cope with the less raw materials that we will have in the future - which is where recycling comes in. Personally, I think recycling is perhaps the easiest way we can contribute to helping the environment. It takes literally a second to determine that something is paper, or metal, or plastic (perhaps an additional second to check the bottom to make sure it is recyclable plastic). While I acknowledge that my recycling some cans is not much of a difference, it nevertheless is a difference, and something which is quite easily achieved. I think that there are plenty of economic reasons (for example, recycled aluminium costing 10x less to produce than aluminium from aluminium ore - due to the huge amounts of energy required; or indeed the fact that we will run out of oil and have nothing to power our entire economy) to recycle and be green where we can, aside from the fact that there may actually be some intrinsic value in keeping a few acres of natural forest where we can see a few animals wandering about.
