  1. Container Freight Yards

it says the Rail Yard and Spur Textures Vol 1 is non existent. But it looks great
  2. Show us your Oddities!

First pic: Just like Starbucks, on every freaking corner! Second/Third pics: the NAM lets you do everything, including the impossible! Fourth pic: I can think of a quicker way to get there
  3. Nonfunctional Rail/Ferry

For the rail, did you place a passenger station in the industrial area? For instance, I have a rail line that leaves a mainly residential/ht city and crosses to a dirty/manu city. I have several stations in the residential city, and a large passenger terminal in the industrial city with many bus stops. That way, people board in the residential city, go to the industrial city, get off at the terminal, jump on a bus and go to work. I dont have SC4 running right now otherwise I would post a pic. Also, is the mass transit the most direct option of connecting the 2 areas? Like, is there a bridge crossing the same body of water that the ferry does? Did you install a park and ride version of the NAM?
  4. Glitchy Marina?

Im pretty sure the issue is that the land that the marina was placed on is too close to the water level for it to appear properly. The marina has stairs that lead down to the water, meaning you need some more elevation for everything to show properly
  5. Money Making

What I did is I continued the Big City Tutorial and worked from there. I added a mass transit system, heathcare, education, and fire and police stations as necessary. After a while, I zoned for medium and high density residential when the EQ and health increased. AS my profit increased, I expanded the mass transit system and started zoning for all high density zones. I had an "accidental" fire that wiped out all of the dirty industry, but it gave me a chance to rebuild the industrial zones much better than before. Sure, some sims moved out when the dirty industry left, but it was sonn compensated by manufacturing and high tech. There are currently around 50k sims and my profit from mass transit is over 3k. I also make around 3k more than I lose each month.
  6. GLR issues

My sytem is working pretty well now. I made a neighbor connection of GLR and added a few parking garages. Now during morning rush hour, the fare profits increase to over $800. It made me happy to see trains like these on my network (see pic). Sure, I know the trains I'm using arent GLR specific, but I wanted something that wouldnt look stupid on my el rail. I think it looks kinda cool. Note: my pics are being downsized for some reason, so they are smaller than they should be
  7. GLR issues

@RedImperator: I actually thought about creating a neighbor connection with the GLR, but didnt realize that it was possible. @CaptCity: Last time I checked, a couple thousand sims enter and leave the city during rush hour. @Retep MolinariI: I actually never thought about placing parking garages. Now that you say that, I realized that thats probably a main issue is theres nowhere to park and ride. Thanks for the advice. I'll go back later, make some improvements/changes and see what happens
  8. GLR issues

Yes, the city is connected to a residential city. The main avenue in the middle actually leads right off the map to a mainly residential city that has almost no commercial at all. I installed simulator Z Ultra when I installed NAM. No roads are blocked in this city. I am currently planning to form another residential city and connecting that once it starts developing. The abandoned buildings seem to pop up, then become active again frequently.
  9. GLR issues

Hi, Im new here but have had SC4 and Rush Hour since they came out. I just reinstalled them on my laptop and recently found out about how SC4 is moddable. I downloaded the June 2009 NAM, GLR stations and hubs, RTMTV3.5, BFR traffic control set 1.2, and all the required dependencies. I made my first attempt at creating a commerce only district and experimented with the GLR. I set up a nice network, however, no one uses them. In the attached picture, 4 trains are clearly visible, yet the income from fairs is only $10. What is going on here? At one point, fares were over $400, but I had to change part of the network so they stayed at zero for several (game) years until right before the screenshot was taken.
