This is easily done with the iLive Reader or LE Prop programs. LE Prop is easier in my mind, but it doesn't matter which one you use. 2. There is a tutorial for that on the Omnibus, I've only used it for BATs, but it should work with lots, too. You'll need the Plugin Manager, just a heads up. Glad to help!

Yeah, the Clinton News Network and the National Barack Channel. That's why they call it the "liberal media". Conservatives only have two choices; Fox News and Foxnews.com. And even then all we get is Glenn Beck. But he's a funny guy. He makes the news fun to watch. Especially when his temper flares.

Ship disappears in European Waters

Originally posted by: fukuda Oh good, now we've got pirates in the atlantic ocean too quote> Wrong! It would be the Baltic Sea! But I'm sure we have pirates in the Atlantic too, don't worry. Why steal a boat hauling lumber? Seriously, steal an oil ship out of the North Sea if you must. Or even better, something with processed or finished goods. Then again, if you don't know what you're stealing, timber is a common export in the Baltic Sea. And how did the ship get through Denmark? Doesn't all ship traffic through the Baltic-Atlantic route have to go through Copenhagen? Wouldn't the port authority or someone have stopped them? This story gets more suspicious the more I think about it. Hackin' Swedes! Think they can steal our boats! Oh wait, I'm Swedish... nevermind! -
If you need any extra help, mythmonster2, look at this tutorial. It helped me a ton and it's easy to follow. And while I'm posting, trainguy4449, your port looks amazing! I'm sure you'll hear that a lot, but seriously, I can tell you put a lot of effort into it! Nice work! Quick & simple question: Where can I find some good seaport lots? Especially those blue cranes... thanks in advance!

Traffic Jams in Map Corners.
Jumpthefence replied to Jedimarine's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I've heard very good things about Simulator Z. I haven't downloaded it, but I believe it has some kind of pathfinder thingamajig, which probably means it eliminates problems with pathing, so every commute has a start and an end. I dunno, I haven't downloaded it and I have the same problem as you, so you'll just have to test for yourself what works. -
I'm simply scared by this Cash for Clunkers program. We're not going to stop the federal deficit from going up at this rate. People are buying foreign cars with the money they get; it's not stimulating our economy. And now they're tracking our computers. The dealer's computers, at least. Or they have a really bad legal documents writer. Which also worries me in a number of ways. It's a loss-loss! And the whole program is a loss-loss-loss-loss-etc! In other news, the sky is blue and Simcity is fun. Go figure.

Gradual slide into socialism? Naw, what makes me think that? Now imagine the government watching over your computer! Oh, wait, I have a feeling that's already happening.

1. I'm extremely obsessive compulsive so I follow the XYZ boxes, but you should do what you're comfortable with. 2. Deleting them will keep the file size down if they're not nessecary, but otherwise, save yourself the hassle; they won't cause any problem, so don't bother deleting them. It won't make a huge difference keeping the file size down anyways. 3. Carpal tunnel: Not fun. I wouldn't suggest trying to get it.

Bids Start at $300,000 for Chicago's Post Office
Jumpthefence replied to diamonddog_74's topic in Current Events
What would you even do with a building that big? Lots and lots of offices, I suppose. Or a giant warehouse? I'll bet bidding goes above $5 million or even 10 million pretty quick, but the land itself could be worth that. -
[2009] Lot Editor and Plug-in Manager - Forum Archive
Jumpthefence replied to tvguy's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Unfortunately, you need the Building Architect Tool or 3DS Max, plus modding software to change things like that. -Changing the name of the city on a sign is easy if you have the BAT/3DS model file. All you have to do is replace one component. -You would have to create a Shell sign in BAT/3DS, which is also not incredibly difficult. "Save As" creates a new model and the original will be fine. -No. But, a good alternative is to take the crowd prop and place it off center in the BAT, then change the occupant size1 in the ilive reader, build the lot, delete the base textures with modding software and it will work when placed next to the beach, plaza or grass. It sounds like a headache, and that's because it is. But if you know what to do, you can do it. 1Occupant size is another way of saying how much space an item takes up in the lot editor. For example, if an item is the size of 4 squares but you need it to fit on a single square, simply change the occupant size. I hope I helped. Although I probably just confused you.- 172 Replies

Of course, this is assuming you have a Google account (though most of us do). But thanks for sharing the idea, I've never thought of combining the two!

If you keep clicking, does it say that it's not responding? If your computer's running slowly, this will become more common. As I said, GMAX uses as much as 4-5 times as much space as a regular program, so you should check availability in the C: and D: Drives to ensure it runs smoothly. When I first got GMAX, my C Drive was about 7% free. Now, I emptied it down to about 13% free and GMAX runs much smoother. So how full is your C: Drive?
-
Has it completely loaded? For me it's nothing but a white screen until it completely loads. Also, check the space on your graphics card and processer. Enough RAM couldn't hurt either. Simply put, check your computer specs. GMAX uses a lot of space. (up to four times more usauge than an internet connection) PS. Welcome to Simtropolis! It's a great community for BATers, trust me.

How to add jobs to a building
Jumpthefence replied to pagenotfound's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I just reinstalled the Lot Editor from Simcity Devotion and now it works fine. Maybe I needed an update that was in the new download? Anyways, the problem is resolved. Figures it was my own stupidity. Thanks for corresponding at the very least. While I'm trying to salvage some dignity, did you like the picture? Does it look like a pretty decent BAT? I'm trying to make it a functional commercial lot. I'll be able to upload it to the STEX in just a few days. Again, thanks for your help. Sorry about wasting your time. -
I seem to recall Columbia Terrain Mod was rated #1 mod of the year a few years back. It's not bad if you want a nicer looking city. It turns the grass greener and I think cliffs are grey instead of brownish. It also adds flowers at random intervals. I don't have any terrain mod either, but that's what I would get. *EDIT*: Sorry, it's called the Columbus Terrain Mod. Here's a picture:

If you took the pcture with the in-game camera, the pictures are in the directory: My Documents> Simcity 4> Albums> Cityname(9digitnumber)> Cityname-Date-(12digitnumber) at least they are on Windows XP computers. That's what I have. Simply take the file(s), upload them to Imageshack, Photobucket, or another image hosting site. Then insert it into the post you want using the link it gives you. Hope this helped!

How to add jobs to a building
Jumpthefence replied to pagenotfound's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I'm certain the lot was big enough for my model. I made it 30x46 meters (a little less than 2 by 3 squares) and it was the correct size on a commercial growable lot, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for a landmark lot. quote> See? It fits fine on a 2x3 Commercial lot. So it's not the LODs. I don't think. The problem is that in the Functional Landmark Tutorial, they talk about a button that says "Replace Building", but all I'm seeing is a button that says "Add Family". Refer to the first post by me; it says buildingpropvol1 and vol2 do not solve the problem, and at the moment I'm trying to figure out what will. Do you know what update or version of the Lot Editor I need to make it so it displays the "Replace Building" button? If I have to, I can send a Private Message to STomnibus but hopefully, only as a last resort. PS. I think I got my Lot Editor at Simcity Devotion, if it makes a difference. Again, thanks for your correspondence. -
Simply mess with taxes. Raise $ taxes and lower $$$ taxes. Works like a charm.

How to add jobs to a building
Jumpthefence replied to pagenotfound's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I probably should have mentioned it earlier, but I have the Lot Editor for BAT. The problem is, I could never get it to work. I went under C:>Program Files>Maxis>Simcity 4 Deluxe>Apps and this is what it looks like: Nothing strange, a couple of generic files, including one labeled LotEditor for BAT. Of course, I thought this would work, considering the name. Inside the folder there are two files, the program itself and a notepad configuration file. I didn't do anything to the configuration file, I simply started up the program to see if it would work. No luck: Upon startup, it displays the dreaded Error Report. The regular Lot Editor works just fine, so I don't know why the Lot Editor for the BAT won't work. -The black boxes were put in by me for privacy reasons; they're not related to the probem. Hopefully that's enough information to help solve this. Are you saying I need to uninstall gmax? It wasn't very clear what you were trying to tell me. Thanks for your correspondence, it's people like you that make Simtropolis run smoothly. -
How to add jobs to a building
Jumpthefence replied to pagenotfound's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I have tried to make a functional landmark lot with one of my BATs, but I don't know enough about the ilive reader to do it, and every time I get to the Lot Editor step, I run into this problem: The tutorial says: Open the lot editor, and choose any Landmark lot, which will begin with the letters "LM". The Sphinx lot is a good one to use, as it has very few things on it to remove. Under the lot tab, increase the lot size to accommodate the building you have created. If in doubt, or you building doesn't show up later, make it bigger. You can always make it smaller once you building is on it. Under the building tab, click replace building, and navigate to the one you want. But this is what I'm seeing: Obviously, I'm under the Building Tab, but there's no "Replace Building" button. I assume I need some Lot Editor update, right? I had buildingpropvol1 and vol2 updates, but I removed them because they didn't seem to be my solution. If you know the update I need, please tell me and post a link if you can. PS I'm certain the lot was big enough for my model. I made it 30x46 meters (a little less than 2 by 3 squares) and it was the correct size on a commercial growable lot, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for a landmark lot. I can provide any more information needed to solve my problem. Please help! I'm getting pretty frustrated. -
The Current State of the American Health Care System
Jumpthefence replied to Psycho_Teddy's topic in Current Events
Has anyone mentioned what the plan will cost for Medicare and Medicaid? It's been in the back of my mind, but this video (from my blogroll) really puts into perspective what devestation, er, I mean, "benefit" this plan could cause. It's pretty effective propaganda. But seriously, watch it and try to tell me this won't be costly.
