Hey All, To go with my canal, I will be working on a whole bunch of w2w euro buildings. I want to make ones that will look like they would fit into cities like Stockholm, Antwerp, places in Germany Austria etc. Here are a couple. This one is Blasieholmstorg 12 in Stockholm ..and in hd: ..and a fictional 1x2 corner. and a hd render of it, too bad this isnt feasible in game I want to make different heights for different levels of density. like 30m, and 15m

Hey all, I am trying to make a city like Stockholm. But using regular bridges over real water doesn't really work for me (they have to be too high, and the shores are kind of hard to customize) So I am making this, it is much like a canal set, but intended to be more like a river. I plan to included boats and docks. I am going to making props for the edges, I want to make real nice pedistals and statues for the bridges. Let me know what you think! Should I make the water more reflective? Cheers!

This is one of the most realistic-looking and well made cities I have ever seen! keep it up, I love looking at it!

Of course! Also look up YootTower, closest thing to a Simtower 2

nybt-forum-threads Jumpthefence's BAT Forge
JonM replied to Jumpthefence's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I think you should also make slight alterations to these BATS, like color, re-arranging details etc, and release those separately. That would give people more options to choose from and more variation in the cities. -

I think that is too much lights, it may be realistic, but when placed next to other sc4 skyscrapers in game it will probably look out of place and weird. It is beautiful though... -

Colors are never too much Looks great, perhaps some accents near the top?

Get some of the trees on the stex too, way better than the default ones.

Is it possible to convert .3ds to .gmax?
JonM replied to LivingInThePast's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
The 3d warehouse building files are not generally high-poly enough to work with BAT. Some are, but perhaps only a handful. They almost always use photo textures which don't look right. Almost easier to make it yourself like SimFox was saying. -
Here are some more stuff I am working on. I will release some of these soon. The Frank Gehry dancing house in Prague is not totally my modelling, I used some of a stock model I had

Here are some more shots, I kind of like the lavender, and I am tired of rendering, so I'm just gonna go with it as is.

Ok, I warmed up the wall texture. Better now?
-
Thanks gottago! I read everything carefully! here is some progress on that: Are the colors getting better now?
-
Thanks! Here is another one I had been working on. and yes, I have been on/off simcity and batting since sc2000

The trees are part of the street mod, If anyone knows a way in the lot settings to disable the street junk on roads that touch the lot, please let me know!. I agree about the pink. Your saying the land walls are too blueish? What do you mean about all key sizes? Cheers!

ok a new straight bridge and some more curves. I am experimenting with putting props on the pieces,
-
Oh hey thanks for the typo fix! Here is a curve...
-
Not yet! I have to do make night with lights and fix some bugs and add props. Lots more to do before I can upload it!

Hey all thanks for the responses! @gottago that would be https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=2910 @vistla , That is a simple diagonal street from the NAM and then when you connect a SAM to it, it turns that texture. And Yes you can have variable widths, these are puzzle pieces. The tiling is difficult to tone down without having a solid color which would suck. I am working on making variations in each one. Cheers guys!
