  1. Biggest Failure of CXL?

Definitely the avatar and the chatbox. I know those are perhaps small problems to other people but they remind of SCS and Citylife. And the fact that you can't "plop" parks. Furthermore I think the biggest mistake of MC is that they raised the expectations of a game similiar to SC4. CXL isn't SC4. They are completely different, perhaps they should have had better marketing. Perhaps we expected too much.

On the other hand, the US is much larger and the population is far more spread out. Mass transit simply isn't a viable option for a lot of people to go a lot of places. Ever since the end of WWII, rail lines have been getting abandoned and even ripped up in a lot of places while all sorts of new highways have been getting built. Most development has been very car-oriented and it's a philosophy we still haven't completely gotten over. Mass transit becomes more viable in urban areas but even then it often acts more as a means for people who cannot afford a car to get around than as an actual competing alternative to auto traffic. It's rarely more convenient or cheaper. Very, very true. I must admit that in my opinion the train system is pretty good. We also have lots of busses riding their timetables. Our government was embarking on a anti-car program, but nowadays they abonded it because of major failures (capool, special tax lanes and large transferiums (where you can leave your car and get onto mass transit). We are waiting for another huge money wasting programme.

My bad, you are absolutely right about the euro/dollar thing. Guess I was still too mad about the prices. Hehe, well SOME Americans are a little bit upset about some minor price fluctuations concerning gas. Bottomline is you guys pay a lot less then Western Europeans. But then again your government doesn't put in a lot of taxes on gas. Would be cool if they try it. I think the streets are getting rather full when they announce it.

Just paid Euro 1.55 per litre over here (Netherlands).I think thats about 1 dollar 20 US. Laughable if you ask me. Our government is good for at least 1 euro per litre on the taxes. I really don't know why some Americans are complaining about the gas prices. You should come to Holland for a change . Owh, if you do bring your cars along with you. Be sure to visit an ATM before you fill'er up! This may sound sarcastic, but I do not wish to mock people, except my government.
  5. SC Societies, worst game ever?

I've played SC4 since it first came into the stores and began playing it again when I joined the Stex en bsc exchange. Up untill now. When SCS came out I downloaded the demo, but I was appalled. Toony graphics and way to childish. I can Imagine that children like it. My worst game ever is Dawn of War 2. I played dawn of war 1 extensively online and well....they ruined the entire warhammer atmosphere and feeling of carnage. 4 squads is what you get and thats it.

  10. TSC Amsterdam

Nice map! And yes Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. But 2.5 million inhabitants is incorrect. The greater Amsterdam area (with suburbs) has got around 1.6 million inhabitants. The city intself around 730.000.
