The Kozakura District is on the south side of Selgaunt and is home to many government buildings, a giant hospital, the Selgaunt Main Station and the Mercantile Tyrant Tower... North Kozakura Disctrict... South Kozakura with the massive Selgaunt Memorial Hospital... The Temple of Mask bordering the Kozakura District, you can also see the Mask's Head Statue and the Selgaunt Central Police Station... Selgaunt Supreme Court, the largest courthouse in all of Sembia... The Hulorn's Office as well as the Mercantile Tyrant Tower. For 50 years this was the tallest building in Selgaunt until Prince Rivalen moved in and comissioned even larger skyscrapers... Kozakura Avenue at the base of the Mercantile Tyrant Tower... The Southwall School with the Selgaunt South Gate... Selgaunt Main Station and across the street is the Scepter Building which houses the city special police force, the Scepters... The Selgaunt Stock Exchange, pretty much the only building in the city where legal business is conducted... The Golden Tree Park, not actually a tree but a sculpture covered in 22 karat golden flakes. In a city where mercantile skills rule this "Tree" serves as inspiration to many newcomers...

The amount of effort you have put into this CJ is simply amazing and it has paid off tenfold. Excellent job, it's very inspiring for newbie CJers like me. :) -
Thanks! It means a lot having a positive comment from you, you have one of the most successful CJs out there and I truly appreciate it :)

The district of Selgar's Market in Selgaunt is somewhat of a misnomer. It is mostly a residential district of the city but there are two enormous structures from which the district takes it's name. These two structures are the Merchant's Guild Headquarters and the Mercantile Building. This district of the city is separated from the others via a dual avenue network with parks and plazas that serve as district borders. These transportation networks provide both a boundary for the districts of the city as well as a fast means of transportation (right now the average commute is about 35 minutes)... One of the residential neighborhoods... Most of the developments in Selgar's Market are high wealth structures and many residents are merchants and financial advisors for other prminent figures in the city... Light traffic on a sunday morning... The combined El-Rail and subway systems make getting to where you go very easy throughout the city, having a highway helps too... El-Rail passing through a residential neighborhood in Selgar's Market... The Mercantile Building, if you want to know the price of anything in Sembia this is the place to go... The Merchant's Guild Headquarters with adjacent Guild Metro Station... Plazas outside the Merchant's Guild Headquarters... Dual avenue network between the Chauncelgaunt Quarter and Selgar's Market...

Now we enter through the city gates and get to the good stuff. The Chauncelgaunt Quarter is a mostly residential district of Selgaunt and about half of the district comprises of the two main religious sanctums and the University of Selgaunt. Inside the city gates on the western portion of the Chauncelgaunt Quarter... Another shot along the western wall... The infamous Sharran Temple of Selgaunt. This place of worship is where the Hulorn Tamlin Uskevren comes every week to pray. It is also where Prince Rivalen subtley influences the Hulorn's political views. The temple looks great and even has a park and theatre alongside but don't be fooled, many dastardly deeds are plotting within... Just to the southeast past the North Sembian Thruway lies the Temple of Mask. Erevis Cale preaches here to all who will listen. The motives of the Temple of Mask are unclear as Erevis Cale tries to help the city through his political influence but that nice school on the temple's grounds isn't what is seems to be... fanatics and assassins are trained there from a very young age. You would never guess by just looking at the outside of the school... Just south of the Temple of Mask is South Selgaunt Public High School, and believe it or not this is an actual school with no ulterior motives. Many well-to-do Selgauntans send their children to be schooled here... The educational apex of the city, the prestigious University of Selgaunt... The Science & Engineering building... The College of Art & Architecture... The quad where "Frank the Tank" once inspired 2,000+ students to go streaking for charity for the first ever "Streak for Sembia" charity event... Sembia Stadium, home of the University of Selgaunt Scepters. The Scepters have a rich football tradition and it's near impossible to find tickets unless you know someone... Where the campus meets the city... Hope you enjoyed your tour of the Chauncelgaunt district!!!

Now that I think about it that would be a good idea, much easier for cars to go uphill then a train :)

LOL and it kept on doing it over and over, it never went away! -
Selgar Park is named after the city founder and is situated in the northwest area of Selgaunt. There are campgrounds, scenic viewpoints and numerous wildlife found within this park. An overall view of the park... Some residents getting ready to head of on the trails by horseback... Watch out for the bears in the forest near the trail... If you look closely there are some wayward campers straying off the path and what's in the trees... A BEAR!!! One of the campgrounds within the park, with a ranger station just north of the campsites... The end of the road, the highest lookout tower within the park, as well as a scenic picnic area...

A little history... Selgaunt is the wealthiest, most populous and at times most dangerous and corrupt city in Sembia. Selgaunt sits at the mouth of the River Arkhen where it flows into the Sea of Fallen Stars. This was in the past a strategic spot during times of strife and the centuries old city walls still stand to this day. Selgaunt used to be a small town named Chauncelgaunt which was comprised of many farms and villages with the armed forces and naval academy within the city walls. During the Shadow Wars the city became home to numerous farmers immigrating from neighboring farming communities. With the population increasing one merchant named Selgar was elected the first town mayor. As his first order of business he changed the town name from Chauncelgaunt to Selgaunt. Behind Selgar's cuthroat attitude and mercantile prowess the city prospered to become the wealthiest in Sembia. Nowadays Selgaunt is governed by the passive Hulorn Tamlin Uskevren, and is home to numerous corporations (legal and illegal) that play a major role in Selgaunt's development. Here are some key residents and other things of importance in the city of Selgaunt and future updates... Portrait of the Hulorn Tamlin Uskevren... Erevis Cale: one of the prominent leaders of the city with ties to both the Temple of Mask and Mask Enterprises... The symbol of Mask Enterprises... Prince Rivalen: Leader of the Shadovar Criminal Organization (SCO) with ties to the Church of Shar. If something is amiss in Selgaunt it can probably be linked back to this guy... The symbol of Sharran Church... The map of Selguant that I am using for inspiration for the geography of this city... The beginnings, plotting out the city walls and terraforming the port...

Saerloon is a small city along the Sea of Fallen Stars and is a suburb of Selgaunt, Sembia's richest and by far largest city. Saerollon has a nice port/ boardwalk that is protected from the sea by a small natural peninsula as well as a man-made seawall. Most of Saerloon's development is along the coast as the Thunderpeaks dominate the northern half the of the land... The Western edge of Saerloon which borders Urmlyspyr... Central Searloon with the Thunderpeaks to the north... The Thunderpeaks in all their glory... Eastern edge of Searloon heading towards Selgaunt... Saerloon Harbor Lighthouse which lies at the far end of the peninsula... The Saerloon Seawall and a small glimpse of the port... Upscale housing in Saerloon... Residences near bordering Urmlyspyr... Peaceful neighborhood in the Northwestern area of Saerloon... Saerloon Town Park on the northside of town... 3 Tier Streets, northern neighborhood at the base of the Thunderpeaks... Residential areas nearing downtown... The beginning of the North Sembian Thruway towards Selgaunt... Saerloon Community College... Saerloon Seaport... Seaport/ Bowardwalk transition... Harbor Piers and boardwalk... Boardwalk inner corner... Saerloon Bank in downtown... Saerloon Suites and Hotel... The Marina Restaraunt and Hotel... Onwards to Selgaunt... View of Saerloon with Daerlun and Urmlyspyr... One more region view for the road... Up next is Selgaunt, going to try something new with the next few entries, please comment, rate and enjoy!

The small towns of Daerlun and Urmlyspyr are across the Sea of Fallen Stars from Westgate. Two small towns on the edge of Sembia bordering the sea to the south and the Thunderpeaks to the north. The Lake of Arabel separates the two towns and provides a scenice backdrop to the two towns. Daerlun from above... Daerlun farms near the Lake of Arabel... The north end of town along the Lake of Arabel... Daerlun's rocky coast line, I wonder why there are no marinas here... Residential neighborhoods... Lake of Arabel with the Thundepeaks... Daerlun town center... The Strait of Arabel, across the bridges you can see the town of Urmlyspyr... View of Urmlyspyr... Town center with the Urmlyspyr Bell Tower... The Church of Mask... Residences on the shore of Lake Arabel... Mask's Shadow Cemetary near the southern coastline... Heading East towards Saerloon...

iGod: Thanks! I'm new to this whole suburb to downtown transition thing, I used to make metropolis after metropolis. ROFLyoshi: Thanks for the comment and sorry but all the town and city names come from the books that I read. Maybe they were inspired by the bridge in Melbourne... :)

The Southern portion of Sembia has been completely terraformed and before I continue to the northern (and much more populated) areas I figured I'd give an update with some region views and statistics of the completed towns... Here's a region shot of Starmantle and East Starmantle with the vast Sea of Fallen Stars... Starmantle with Redwater to the west and Westgate to the northwest... Starmantle, Redwater and Westgate again, but also with the two "Arm Lakes" and the Western Farms in the view... Uninhabited area south of Redwater, the main body is water is the Short Arm Lake and swamp surrounded by the Gulthmere Mountains... Short Arm Lake south of Starmantle. Starmantle is to the north with the Gulthmere Mountains blocking the way... East Starmantle with the Gulthmere Mounatins, the Isle of Prespur can be seen to the Northeast... The end of the Gulthmere Mountains with the Pirate Isles to the Northeast and the eastern edge of Prespur... Regional transportation view of Starmantle and East Starmantle... Regional transportation view of Starmantle all the way to Westgate... Southern Sembia Statistics City Population Commercial Jobs Industrial Jobs Commute Time Education Quotient Average Income Life Expectancy East Starmantle 12,677 5,827 2,563 47m 160 $80,000 87 Starmantle 86,049 49,433 27,424 1 hr 6 m 159 $86,000 90 Redwater 15,055 5,108 3,387 48m 143 $54,000 87 Westgate 42,485 14,214 15,409 55m 93 $53,000 91

I like how you show the progression of developing areas, and good use of the rural highway. I agree with iGod about the column, but otherwise good work, keep it up!

Westgate is a small city/ large town sitting on a peninsula jutting out into the Sea of Fallen Stars. Lying to the north of Redwater and across the sea from both Daerlun and Urmlyspyr, Westgate is a main trade stop for many Sembians in the region... Aerial shot of Westgate just north of the town of Redwater... Westgate Farms and the Dragoncoast Forest... Coastal development north of Redwater... The railways are a great source of transportation from Redwater into Westgate... But many people still prefer the highway... Westgate Golf Club on the outskirts of town... Some coastal development heading to the north... With the many industrial jobs in Westgate the freight stations are usually very busy, but today it's nice and calm... Westgate Power Company and the Westgate Sand and Gravel Company... Westgate Rail Seaport on a slow day... Westgate Port with the newly constructed seawalls... Westgate Public High School and surrounding neighborhoods... Westgate Prep, where the elite sims send their children for schooling... Marinas along the peninsulas east coast... Downtown Westgate with the Gate Towers, Westgate Bank and Dragon Cult Cathedral... One of the downtown piers... Downtown waterfront businesses... Aerial view of downtown with the West Reach to the north... Closer view of the West Reach that protects Westgate from the often brutal waves of the sea... I hope you enjoyed Westgate, the next stop will be the towns of Daerlun and Urmlyspyr across the sea...
