I was going to buy it until I learned of their pricing plan and the fact that there would be no public tran unless you got the planet offer. I will not be buying this, will buy Tropico 3 instead. after playing this for a couple of days, all I can say is that I WANT MORE. this game demo did what a demo is supposed to do.I was not bored and the graphics look amazing!!!!! I imagine sandbox mode ("free mode") will be something great too since the missions were so great. first day buyer here. and not to be biased, i've never played any of the Tropico games before and have been a long time player of simcity (since sc2000 came out!), but cities xl can go DIAF.

all I get is a download failed message. have tried multiple times today. what's the deal? can I download this patxch elsewhere?

downloaded the demo from a german site, registered it but now it won't connect due to server issues or something. does the 7 day trial start now since I already installed it or sept 8th as is mentioned in this thread? I am confused.

"a burden on the people" argument (as in, people who contribute little or nothing to society and are as such a burden by the state who is forced to take care of them) is actually how the Nazi's were able to get away with much in the beginning as far as the sterilization of the mentally handicap and ill went prior to the enactment of the final solution, in addition to certain ethnic groups although much of that was done in or attempted in to be secret unlike the prior which was approved by much of the populace. that said, I still think sterilization should be practiced on certain people like the one in the article, provided it does not become a blanket law and is judged on a case by case basis.

okay, so here's my issue. i've had simcity 4 since it was released, same with the rush hour expansion. sc4 used to run great on my machine, no problems whatsoever. well, after a hiatus of not playing for a couple of years, I decided to re-install it and play again. only one problem. it performs poorly! basically it takes a while to load cities, when zoning or building there is delay (sometimes lasting several minutes!). I have it on moderate graphic setting and have tried lowering them with no effect. in addition, i've defragged all 3 of my hard drives numerous times, closed all unnecessary programs and even re-installed sc4 with no improvement. my computer is kind of old, I guess. I am running xp professional with 1gb of ram, pentium 4 1.8ghz and ATI radeon 9200 video card. I also have the game installed on my much slower laptop (1gb ram, vista, 1.6ghz) and guess what? it runs fine. but I hate playing it on the laptop, since it is only 12.1" screen where as my desktop is 19"! lol. is there anything else I can do short of getting a new computer? lol.
