Its all we can do to comment your CJ after the 30,000 or so youve commented lol. Ofcourse your amazing ability to terraform seizes to amaze me, keep up the good work! Ill definitely be back for more,. And best of luck to you on your newest endeavour! See ya around amiga! Nickk -
The sites supposed to be up and down for a little bit while Dirk works out all the kinks from the "attack" lol. What I wanna know is, who could have such a dislike for SimCity4 that they harm the amazing site of Simtropolis! lol but yeah everything seems to be working normally for the most part. If you experience a malfunction though, theres a thread someone on here that you can report it. See ya around! Nickk

Nice job so far posh! Just for future reference, its customary to have a replies thread for all the people that commented your CJ. Though it is ultimately up to you whether or not you want to include one. : ] Keep up the good work posh! Ill be stopping by for more, Nickk

Ok, theres building I really want to download. Its a restaurant that would look really cool if placed correctly on one my street corners. But I cant find the blasted BSC Texture Dependency I need. Its called, "BSC Texture Pack Volume 4 (bsc_curvedEdgePaths_v1.dat)". Now I know its somewhere on sc4devotion.com I just cant seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nickk

Anytime, Im glad to help. If you have anymore questions, even if its not about subways lol just private message me. See ya around, Nickk

1: Stations need to be placed by a road so they can be accessed by pedestrians via street. 1a.: I tend to place my routes in the most direct way possible, which is not always right under the street. Example: say your roads go in a grid, it would take longer for the subway to follow the grid rather than just make a diagonal cut straight to the station you want it to go to. 2.:It doesnt have to connect as a circuit, a straight line is fine lol. 3. Direction of stations doesnt affect which way the train will travel. hope i helped! Nickk

Thanks anarchy! Cant wait to see the next update! Nickk. +btw: incase you wanted an embassy for me to choose or something, it would be the New York City Hall. Unless youre just choosing them yourself.

Well its really difficult to plan ahead because you never know exactly where the population will be concentrated, though you can slightly manipulate it. So lay your subway before you start growing buildings, and build parks and plazas. That way later on you can demolish part of the park and put in a subway station. This is what I do anyway...

patfirefghter: Oh I know all about the LEX's search engine, Ive spent countless hours searching under certain categories. In my opinion it is just simpler to look things up by there names/keywords. But thats just me lol.

Realistic City Planning
tigerplayer91 replied to briantwigley's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Whenever I build my cities I grid them completely. Diagonal roads put additional time on the commute. Though my cities are not just rectangle block after rectangle block, I usually have roads intersect at different points and such to mix it up a little. -

Hey Twigs! K so this new upload basically rocks, lol And what you lack in airport making you definately make up for in your amazing ability to create parks and what not. Is Ripley quite finished yet though? I cant tell if your done with it or if its still a work in progress? Oh well, its good all the same lol. Btw- do you still need a link for my embassy? Or will you be able to find it alright? Nickk

What did I just read? One minute it opened with an ok looking city, then the city exploded? Then something with outer space and then they were on a desert thing? Then they heard an airport on the thing and went over to it. ok I got that so far I think. But Then that Patrician dude landed at the airport or something and then all war broke loose? I dont get it?

Region Name: Kingdom of Patadav Capital City: Humidus Region Population: 920,000 Your Screenname (or first name if preferred): Tigerplayer91 Ruler: Queen Slevanan Embassy Building Request: New York City Hall (I think thats the name) -I cant include a STEX link at this moment, because the STEX isnt working. Region Flag: Thanks Twigs, this is going to be my last attempt at a CJ, I hope it works out well. Boy Ive got some pictures to show you next time you get on MSN. Thank again, Nickk

You should really take mightgoose's advice, he knows what hes talking about. I have a city called Humidus, and its extremely successful. A thriving downtown with residential sectors surrounding it. Ofcourse I planned the entire city from top to bottom and have many money parks to help support the education and health but that is besides the point lol. Here Ill post some pictures to prove that a good education is the key to success. Keep in mind, since it is a pre planned city, it is not completely finished yet, but here ya go: This is one of the residential neighborhoods. As you can see, I really like rowhouses lol. The same area at night: Those are the two good ones I could find, but yeah, my city has absolutely zero low wealth residential and the average income is 130,000 simoleons. Just goes to show you what a good education can do.

Twiggy! Another great update! Keep up the good work! Nickk

mightygoose: thanks so much for the link! I really appreciate it! : ] spinmaster: thanks to you as well for bringing this feature to my attention, however, i do think it would be much easier if they just had a conventional search engine like the one here at simtropolis. I think it would save me a lot of time, but thanks again!

No Lights on Downloaded Buildings
tigerplayer91 replied to tigerplayer91's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I found a post I made earlier on in the year that someone named PKremer replied to. He gave the info I needed to fix the problem and I just stumbled upon it so here it is courtesy of Pkremer.: ""I just recently had this same problem. Follow these steps in THIS order. Mixing 2 and 3 around will cause problems. 1) Verify that you have the Rush Hour expansion pack or SimCity 4 Deluxe. I don't think the night lights will work with the vanilla version of SC4. If for some reason you don't have it, get it. It's worth it. 2) Make sure that you have applied the necessary update to the Rush Hour expansion pack from the EA Website (http://simcity.ea.com/update/index.php). It's possible you have done this already, but make sure. 3) Next, you need to install the BAT update from the EA website. (http://simcity.ea.com/exchange/lots/) Look at the second red line that says "Note:" It's about 14.4 MB. Once you have followed those steps, open up the game and the night lights should light right up! Let me know what happens!""
