What is the best way to build a city?
s_olah replied to FabioJ's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Just go with the flow...village-town-city-metropolis. You can also plan the whole city, then make the layout and stuff, but it's not so fun. As projectadam (who I want to thank for his Youtube Picture posting Demo) said, watching the city develop, and dealing with the issues that come along, there's the real fun... -

The New Official Next Generation Sim City Wish List
s_olah replied to Goldfish4209's topic in City-Building Games
I would love to see some weather, to be able to choose just like in Sims 2 Seasons, what type of seasons you want for that region. Also a wider variety of buildings wouldn't be so bad either. And make the tiles smaller...like a tile now is 1x1, that should be 2x2, so the avenue would take up 5 tiles, 2 + 2 for each lane, and 1 for the "park" in the middle, which you could delete, and build whatever you want there, like GLR, which would be included, not like now...Disasters would also be nice (tsunamis, terrorist attacks, plane crashes). But most of all, WEATHER!!! -
Great design, can't wait to see more...

I think your last reply was the funniest reply I've ever read on simtropolis...). Nice city, and great storyline, looking towards april 5th, 6.01 p.m. -
I hope this is what you had in mind...

delete the airport, and when he asks for a new one, just build it, that usually helped me, although I only had this problem once...

Cool photos, I'm hoping to get there this summer...

I don't know if anyone posted this here before, hope not, and if somebody did, I'm sorry... It's a real fugly one...The National Library in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo...
-
I totally agree, I posted the Bucharest Parliament building here like a week ago, as the worst building ever, but I must admit that the only good reason to why I don't like it, is that it was built in the communist era by Causescu, who tore down the old center to build that crap. same story with the Palace of Culture and Science, although in real life it doesn't look so bad...

Nice teaser, and may I ad, beautiful city...

I'm always surprised when somebody writes something like this...I have a pretty old computer, two-thirds of the performance as the one above "me"...and sim city runs smoothly on it...even with a gig of plugins... Welcome to Simtropolis...and sorry I couldn't help...
-
Well you can copy them in the Plugins folder, but none of them will appear in the game, only after you restart it...
-
I always connect them with roads and rail first, and as the city grows, or the number of commuters rises, I just replace them with avenues, or build another rail line...so my advice is use the ones that are required...I like railways, they're fast and reliable, just make sure to have a really well connected train station...
