  1. Hey guys, don't get confused if building looks like a toilet. It was meant to be actualy
  2. Advisors?

yea.. i too rather see important messages from advisors, while some not important ones by newspaper. I like advisors just to get the feeling you are not the only one who cares about the city or at least they give good opinions if needed.
  3. Some of my scs cities (cool pics)

I don't know about maps larger than SC4 ones. I remember playing SCS and when my city was on half of the whole map I had 30.000 people and it was a huge lag. Also i need to say is I played on high settings, but i won't never sacrifice graphics just to build a couple of more buildings.
  4. Hello guys, you know, I have a problem. You know, my game likes to crash and i don't like it. specs: Intel E6600 2 gigs of ram ATI x1950pro ...... Now, i'm informed already, that ATI graphics cards play Simcity 4 just bad. And my problem proves that. I have to play this 4 years old game on medium settings on 1200x1024 while I play recent games every single option ON MAX. It's not the problem that when there is a full load, that game crashes. It does however more likely when i have a metropolis rather than a village. But game even crashes if i just open a new region and place a highway. Thats moroonic. I did not download any kind of NEW drivers because card was published after the game was. If they didn't fix the problem in three years with their drivers when this card came on, they most probably wouldn't fix it with recent drivers either. I also cannot patch the game, i get some errors. Please, help me.
  5. Unique game crash

    # SimCity 1.dat should be updated to 144,596,245 bytes # SimCity 2.dat should be updated to 168,588,181 bytes # SimCity 3.dat should be updated to 115,117,583 bytes # SimCity 4.dat should be updated to 125,624,858 bytes ....... I did install but all those files didn't change AT ALL even though the report was that patching was succesful. (runing on 1 core.. is that vista problem only?)
  6. Unique game crash

Today I reinstalled the game but thank god when i was playing a city i accidently saved the game. And when i hit save and exit to region, game crashed. I still have problems. Are those costum mods the cause? Please HELP!
  7. Unique game crash

It's not that my patch won't run, It says: Game patched succesfully, but on simcity official site they wrote that i must see if files were updated to more megabytes. But they remained the same just like they weren't patched at all. I tryed it many times but with the same results. Oh well, seems like i will have to reinstall. So you guys really think this game will work when i reinstall, and will i then be able to play smoothly on high. If not, why?
  8. Man, this game is only good for people like Jack thompson.
  9. Unique game crash

Silur> I have HK tower pack3, Money park lots, NAM, grand villa, extra cheats plugin IN my documents/simcity4 and by the reason known only to god i have IPS money park mod also in game dir/plugin craigkingofireland> i haven't reinstalled yet, but i will if strongly neccesary. Somebody> I somehow know i installed it correctly LOL, but i did those experiments on my old PC with simmilar results.
  10. Two New Videos at Simcity.com

Authoritarian city is SO MINE !! Too bad gameplay will be too flat but i'll give it a try. At least with a demo. I just have to try Authoritarian city. I just love communism.
  11. I go to the image properties, then i can see the image size but i can't edit those numbers. Any solution?
  12. mpol, the game is planned to come fall 2008, so it may be 1/2 2009 if delayed
  13. Cities Unlimited

lol.. when u wrote TODAY, i went really happy. But then i realised that probably means tommorow for me, because i live in other part of the world. Too bad.

The Blue people are the Blue Collar workers, they are those typical 1950's suburban family, patriotic and work for their country, taking jobs that are related to the government work force. (automative industry, Police Force, Fire Fighters, more Business-related jobs) Just my 2 cents on the red and blues And those poor slum houses do ruin everything, but its these game moments were you have to "do to get what you want" moments that makes this game interesting. In other words, if you don't like it, you can change it. Improve work conditions or build more Blue or Red influenced work places to change them. However it is annoying to have to do everything just to get a good living condition when a guy working in a business moves out causing a chain reaction. (Business less effiecient, living condition is bad, people who live around the building will move out, other business start losing employees, etc. results in major "Culture shifts") If anyone played City Life, they would get what I'm talking about. Usually i would just make a new slum house thats more pleaseing to the eye quote> True, but problem is, you don't split your city in city life by zones. For example industry there residental there..... Usually when I played i had to build a factory and houses nearby, to supply citizents with jobs. Pretty industrial-age if you ask me. I think SC4 was more accurate on that. Don't get me wrong, I like cultures. But i would rather see them to be really small minor factor in game and not that whole game to be cultural micromanagement. My solution is. For example police stations. They could employ anybody, but if they employ blue people, they would be more efficient.

  16. Highest Populations

wow lads, i have stuff to learn. I must master small cities. For now i can't get past 100,000 people in a small city, except maybe if it's all grass and flat at the start. small: 80,000 count in that it's a seaside town/city with 1/4 of map with see. i don't rush records in medium/large sized since i'm still a starter/***** and i need to master smaller one first

I clicked 'edit' instead of quote and didn't realize it until I overwrote your post I know the above isn't exactly what you said, but I think its pretty close. 18. 10 New Screenshots

I know it's very different, but it kinda feels cartoonish comparing to Cities unlimited. I know I know, CU will be released long after this year, but at least it looks promising at the first. And, I'm not judging this game after playing the demo, but from the pictures it looks like city life with slightly, slightly better graphics
  19. baertooth, there's a lot of optimism going in your post. LOL. Just to point. Community here, to a reason known only by them, hates SC:S. Oh, well.
  20. Simcity.ea.com

the thing i hate in this game are -Cars (but ok, i can live with that) -skyboxes. Edited-Content They can't make a single good skybox? Is sky that hard to draw, since it's standing object the AOE3 had made them much much better
  21. New info!

What's so hard about laying some pipes, i don't understand
  22. What you see is what you're getting..

and i tought the SimCity is city-BUILDER, not city-viewer
  23. What you see is what you're getting..

You guys are funny. True fans don't care on graphics. It's gameplay > graphics. Escpecially in simcity, you always heard: it's the gameplay that matters. Now with few screenshots, you guys are blaming how ugly the game looks. Shame on you ST community! I tought you were better guys. Do you have any idea how much would the realistic 3D game need a great computer to handle it. Do you have no idea how there is no interest on building the SC with uber cool graphics will bring satisfaction in a few % of all community, well common. And the guy commented how more "realistic" looks vice-city (which doesn't) but look. In vice city, you have a city and that's that. Well the problem is, that you wan't to have huge metropolies in the SC. And you remember how laggy was SC4 if you had ultra huge region/city. Now think how this would be in SCS.
