In response to 'Is SCS a joke', I can offer my answer: I wish it was, but it is not. The biggest insult EVER to any franchise. Instead of saying it was a prank, I wish EA would issue a full apology to all Simcity developers and fans and dispense full monetary compensation to all who bought it. - Patricius Maximus

Yep, saw it when it came out. Thought there was something suspicious about it....

Mine is simple, but very uncommon. 'Patricius' means Nobleman in Latin, and the suffix 'Maximus' means (among other things) important. Thus, 'Patricius Maximus' (important nobleman). I think it suits my personality

Vandy: I agree. A reminder of the rules to newbies is good, but the tone and wording is too agressive.

Xyloxadoria, you have a nice limited interchange there. Also, that is wild, un1. I have a mosaic to show today. This is an RHW expressway that has an interchange with another highway, then splits to go through a commercial district (note the at-grade intersections). Furthur North, it recombines itself and goes on northward. Please post comments and/or suggestions.

Great update. This is the only CJ I know of that has been dead and came back in full vigor. This is one of those CJ's that refuse to die, but this one went one step furthur: it died, and then came back. Looking forward to the 49th update....

But let's get this straight - all the wonderful stuff here is NOT the game itself, and would mean nothing if SC4 itself wasn't a good foundation to build upon. People continue to create great content for it, because other people still want it. Many people even still create BAD content for it, but bless them for trying. To me that just shows it's still catching the attention of new players, and even the best creators here uploaded at least one piece of junk early on. All this custom content has extended the enjoyment of this game for many years after its release. But it would be a lot of wasted server space had the original SC4 been as limited in its original scope as SCS is. Could SCS become great with lots and lots of custom content? Sure, maybe. But who's going to stick around long enough to care, when out-of-the-box it loses its appeal within days? And if nobody wants it, nobody will create it ... sorry, but SCS is not "Field of Dreams." SC4 made me wish there was more... and so it came to pass. SCS just makes me wish there was something else.quote> Agreed

No pictures for today's update. It'll be a filler for the storyline. Patricius's first task was to build a massive irrigation project to make his vast desert land more fertile. He diverted rivers to make vast canal zones. Within 1 year of his arrival, 4000 km2 of land was becoming green with grass and wildflowers. In 10 year's time, a new generation of Patricians was being born at a fantastic rate. 12 years post-arrival, the population that was once 20 had reached hundreds of people. Also, a small trickle of Daridans came to live with the Patricians. They thought that Patricius Maximus was the future of their area. The population was swelling, bringing 800 Daridans in every year. Towns sprung up, often containing tens of people, connected by canals and small highways. By 14 years after the Patricians' arrival, the President Aurius's welcoming hospitality had turned to suspicion and jealously of the Patrician's excellent land. NEXT UPDATE: Patricius hands the reins of power to the next generation of his land, and Aurius's suspicions create tensions.... Please post comments and/or suggestions.

I saw this at Haljackey's SC4 archive at SC4D: It's a medianless 4-lane road. I think if it came to fruition, it would be great to diversify transit networks. Would it be possible for a modder to make a starter piece for it, and transit-enable it as an avenue like the RHW, GLR, and HSR? Please post replies. I believe that it would be good if it was done.
