Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)
davidhogan replied to rubik3's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
There's an article on the same page as an article about the 1993 memorial that shows a lot of the other outdoor public art, maybe some things to have as props? You might have already seen this, I hadn't noticed it in the previous 335 messeges though. http://www.ifar.org/911_public1.htm dave -

Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)

i've noticed that i occasionally get texturing problems on stock buildings, move away, rotate, then go back, and if there are any problems, they're in a different spot. seems like that would be a display problem rather than a modeling problem. overall it looks really damn amazing, it's bringing back memories of june 25, 1995 when i went to the top (for the first time.) it was one of the coolest buildings i'd ever seen, and this is an amazing re-creation of it. great job. dave -
Congrats on the house, it looks nice! Thanks for letting us know, I was starting to wonder if you'd given up on it or something. The terrain is very challenging - I'm currently taking a break from my try at that terrain. dave (can't wait for more updates)

Buffalo's City Hall has got to be one of the most unique buildings I've seen - I'd love to have a good city hall for my games. I've love to see someone do the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina: http://sandiegostockphotos.com/arch/pages/sv23.htm http://www.sandiegometro.com/images/0401/sdscene_5.jpg or http://www.sdmarriott.com Two 40+ story curved glass towers, they're probably one of the nicest downtown buildings we have here. The Emerald Plaza would be another great one - named for the diamond shape tops green emerald glow at night. http://www.sandiegohotelsgroup.com/hotel_images/wyndham_emerald_plaza_san_diego/wyndham_emerald_plaza_san_diego.jpg For other ideas from San Diego: http://www.nancymoon.com/Downtown%20San%20Diego%20Half%20Size.jpg Great SC style view of San Diego dave

very cool city, i like cities that aren't all streets. when i picture the road types in SimCity, i see a street as one of those tiny almost-two-lane roads that are all over the northeast - the ones from before cars. when i think of roads, i think of the nice wide, 2 lane roads we have everywhere here in california - short of some really old roads and rural areas, which is where i save streets for. i don't know how florida's built (i've never quite made it in there), but i think that in an urbanized area, mostly roads is definitely the right way to do things. save the streets for rural areas. again though, great job, and i like the abundance of roads. it looks good. i'd love to see more close-ups too. dave
